I've been back shooting film for a year now, but this is the first year that I have shot fully manual 35mm, and also now medium format. In this video I share some of my favourites from the 20+ rolls I shot in the last year. I hope you enjoy!

I am heading into 64 years of film photography. I do shoot digital, but my love is film and for me, little squares pixels will never replace film grain. I have had my RB67 since the late 70's and still love it. A very good video!

That’s fantastic! And thank you! I used to be a pixel chaser, but I’m glad I gave that up. Digital just doesn’t replicate the emotion conveyed by film (in my opinion)

Sooo satisfying to listen to you and view your photographs. So peacefully conversational without forced intensity and pseudophilosophy. I had really gotten tired of vids of artistes driving to a location, boiling some tea and loading film. I did like Ektar 100 best though any 400 speed film can save the day when conditions change.

Thank you! I just can’t do fake or forced anything. Completely agree about the film stocks. I won’t use Ektar again until maybe march or april. I picked up a roll of phoenix 200 yesterday, but still thinking i want to run with 400 speeds through the winter.

Beautifully composed and timed photos! You have wonderful taste! I never used film, but those images look somewhat different than from digital sensors... Highlights and shadows are so beautifully balanced! And colours... Wow, I'll try film at one point. It really seems like magic sometimes. :) Photography really is a journey... For now, my backup Nikon Coolpix P7000 takes great somewhat film - like photos. 📸

You should try film some time! I was very intimidated at first. It makes you slow down the process and really think about what you’re doing. It’s not a cheap hobby to have with film and development costs, but it is so fulfilling! The film community is lovely as well. Film can do some crazy things, and there’s so many different old cameras out there. You could even start with a cheap point and shoot from a thrift store. I still shoot digital, i love my lumix gx85 and i have a canon R6 mk ii as well, but i shoot more film these days. Thanks for coming along on my journey!

Haha. I had a 110 when I was a kid too. Surprised I haven’t seen you around the area, I know you are south of london (where I am). I shoot lots of film now too!

Also I can see why you gravitate to ektar…way better for landscape. Medium format is so nice. Lots of fun colour films. I have a handful of medium Format shots on my IG. One is an expired roll of Fuji
