This 1 year starter locs journey has been incredible, stressful, and beautiful all at the same time. My locs have seen a major growth which i can be proud of and excited to see where they will get after 2 years of being Loc'd. I want to thank everyone that's been here from the start, those who have given me solid advice and constructive criticism on this journey. Its been a big pleasure to document myself on this loc journey while receiving outstanding engagement from you guys. Woah I'm maintaining my locs the same way as you are, so started out with coils + interlock and then got them interlocked again after a month and then every 3 months. I'm 5 months in now and I'm thinking of switching over to regular palm rolling after my next interlock

@@MotivatedByE 😂🤣 I heard that it drops, meaning the shrinkage actually stops for the most part after a year. Maybe not? 😂🤣 I did record videos about my loc journey on my channel. I am glad that I loc'd my hair as I am a wiggy, always in wigs. It's still super, freakin weird for me to see my real hair without a wig.😂🤣 Can't wait to see your updates!! ❤

It’s the shrinkage and my 4c hair 😂 but once your hair starts locking up it naturally gets shorter so be prepared

really inspiring video....I've attempted a few times to grow locs..but if I don't wash my hair every other day, the dandruff becomes a problem...gotta figure out how to combat that. your journey is def inspiring.

@@MotivatedByE there was this dry wash method. But that didn’t work for me. I’m somewhat active so it didn’t solve anything. What I might have to do is just grow a huge Afro where I would get some length. Then loc it later, so that way even if I wash it, the hair won’t easily get untangled.

I’m hearing tea tree oil does wonders for dandruff, and semi free form would work for you a lot cause you won’t be manipulating your hair too frequently and you can wash your hair any how you want during the locking process.

There’s parts in my journey were I go without a retwist for 2/3 months so I’m dealing with a lot of skrinkage, then secondly has your locs start to bud and mature you actually lose some length as the hairs lock together

@@MotivatedByE lol I just use oils, wash once a week unless I feel i need a wash, use rosewater that fused with peppermint and a tightening loc spray

I’ve been growing my 4c hair for 9 months, been getting cornrows the first couple months and then gettting two strand twist 6 months in till now, will My hair be locked if I start getting locs? My hair is pretty long and I think I will have to cut my hair to restart but I don’t want to do that. Any tips on what I should do?

So if you’ve been taking out your two strand twist out each time then they won’t loc up but if you leave them in for 6 months then they most likely will especially with 4c hair. The process of locking your hair can be reversed but it can be a tedious process and may not fully retain your current length or health of your hair so take some time to decide if it’s right for you. Just remember almost every hairstyle can be done with locs and cutting your hair and starting over is always an option.

i dont know if its just my hair longer but im about to be on 8 months in like a week and my hair falls to my eyebrow and over my ears and yours doesnt is it just shrinkage or?

Your hair just grows faster, plus I didn’t get retwists frequently so my locs appeared short then usual during certain months
