You never know what will happen in the great mamodo battle... One moment you're playing games with your friends, and the next you're being recruited to help confront a horde of mamodo who have existed on Earth for a millennium!
When an ordinary day turns into a a fight for survival, Zatch and Kiyo learn about a dangerous and unprecedented threat that a mysterious mamodo from today's battle has made upon the survivors of the competition. With a crisis on their hands, our two heroes travel the world in search of allies to help join their cause!
NOTE:
You don't need to win these battles on the Hard difficulty setting. In fact, it seems that changing the difficulty will not affect the story mode CPU difficulty at all.
CLEAR CONDITIONS:
Follow these steps on the map for the first part of Zatch's Story Mode to get the most accurate representation of chronological order for the story's levels as possible:

Tips: A big chunk of Zatch's story mode is in this video. Try following these battling tips as a general rule of thumb when controlling Zatch and Kiyo! - Unlike in Mamodo Battles, you can charge Heart Energy in this game with a single button. The more spells you use and the fewer counterattacks you make, the easier it will be to build up your Heart Energy throughout the fight. It's always a good idea to immediately raise Heart Energy as soon as the opponent is K.O.'d so you'll have an advantage in the next round! - Zatch is able to cast his 7th spell MUCH more easily in this game since it only takes a simple command instead of a series of steps. To do this, simply press Up + the spell button. The spell is called Zagurzem; it's a ball of light that moves faster than Jikerdor and will buff your next attack once the opponent absorbs its electricity on their body. You can stack Zagurzem up to five times to multiply your damage output! But be careful, because if you punch or parry the opponent, the stored electricity will disappear. - Be careful when dealing with opponents who use melee more than projectiles. You can't parry in this game, and certain melee attacks (like Ponygon's attacks or Wonrei's Go Boren spell) can break through guard. If the opponent has a physical aerial spell (like Wonrei's Gar Redoruk) you're just going to have to take it head on and expect it to chip through your guard. - Zatch's melee combo string leaves him more open than most. Try to only press the button 3 times instead of finishing off with the headbutt. This will give you the ability to either finish off the combo with a Zaker attack, a partner attack, or you can even choose to back off and get some distance in case the opponent tries to retaliate. - Zatch & Kiyo's partner attack is pretty balanced. The higher you knock up an opponent in the air, the more likely they are to recover and fire a basic spell at you as a counterattack. But if you press the button 3 times instead, you can follow-up with a Zaker attack instead of the final punch! You'll want to use this partner attack particularly when the opponent has barely any Heart Energy left on their gauge so that they'll be forced to take it head-on. - Keep an eye on your Heart Energy and try to make sure you always have enough to cast a single Rashield spell, especially if the opponent has enough Heart Energy to cast their aerial spell. A shield spell is the only thing that can stop an aerial spell since you can't dodge or block it any other way! - Try to make it a habit to only defend with Rashield against aerial attacks and low-level projectile spells. The opponent's first spell will be reflected back at them as long as it's a projectile, which uses Rashield at its maximum potential. To deal with stronger projectile spells, move up or down with the control stick (or the D-pad) to sidestep out of the way. Not only will you come out unscathed, you'll also recover a bit of Heart Energy in the process! - A common tactic most Zatch players like to play with is casting Jikerdor on the opponent, and then firing a Zakeruga at them while they're stunned. You can take this a step further and instead cast Jikerdor, followed by Zaguruzemu, followed by Zakeruga! - When the opponent is low on health, Zatch's Rauzaruk is your best bet. It's a high-risk, high-reward last resort that makes Zatch unflinchable as he pummels the opponent with unblockable, electrically charged punches. But if you don't finish the battle within a few seconds, the Rauzaruk will wear off and you'll be left completely vulnerable for about 4 seconds! - Zatch's aerial attack is a Zaker blast, but unlike most aerial spells, this one will completely miss the opponent if you fire it while they're about to get back on their feet. It's easier to catch the opponent during recovery with a basic Zaker attack than it is with the aerial Zaker, so keep that in mind! - Zatch's counterattack has him side-step a projectile and immediately fire back with a Zakeruga beam. Remember that counterattacks like these will make it harder to recover your Heart Energy, so use them sparingly... the closer you are to the opponent before you counter, the more likely your attack won't go to waste! - Zatch's strongest spell is Bao Zakeruga, a gigantic lightning dragon, and it's every bit as powerful as you'd expect! You can even buff the power of Bao Zakeruga if you launch it on an opponent who has Zagurzem electricity stored in their body!

*FIGHTING PONYGON* - Level 1 Ponygon isn't much of a challenge. About 70% of the time, he'll get hit by your attacks. It may be tough to fight him at first if this is your first time battling a Ponygon who uses his spells, but don't let him get a combo in on you, or he'll chip away at your health in no time! Remember that while he's in Go Shudoruk form (gold), his Heart Energy drains rapidly... While he's in Shudoruk form (silver), he can advance toward you while sidestepping your projectile spells, and when he lunges after you on the ground, you can either evade it or defend against it with a shield spell if you've got the right timing! *FIGHTING TIA* - You'll find that Level 2 Tia will defend against attack spells much more than Ponygon did, but her offense leaves a lot to be desired. Because of this, and the fact that she likes to reflect projectiles back at you with Giga La Seoshi, Rauzaruk is your best bet for this fight. She's likely to use her strongest spell against you. You should fire yours as well to initiate a clash and finish her off if you haven't already with your Rauzaruk spell! *FIGHTING KIDO* - Watch out for Kido, because he has 2 very annoying habits to deal with in this game. First, he likes to spam his aerial attack, which is a gigantic rocket fist that crashes down on you. And second, he's one of the most likely to use his ultimate spell as soon as he gets it. This little guy's got a bag of tricks up his sleeve that rivals those of even Kanchomé and Folgore. He's unpredictable, but not particularly aggressive. You shouldn't have too much trouble beating him as long as you play strategically. *FIGHTING BRAGO* - Level 4 Brago isn't messing around... The Brago AI has a very powerful counterattack that he likes to use against the opponent after they've left themselves open. Basically, if you fire a powerful spell at him that takes a while for you to recover from, Brago will tank the hit and then launch back at you with a Gigano Reis. So when you're low on health, whatever you do, NEVER fire a point-blank Zakeruga at him. He seldom lands the Bidom Gravirei to force you back to the ground when you use an aerial attack, but if he feels like he's in danger, he'll start spamming his partner attack on you with a few Reis spells mixed in. Brago's almost a purely energy-based opponent, so you want to back away from him every so often to make sure you're not caught in his range. The last thing you want is to get stunned by his Gravirei and then blown away by an uninterrupted Dioga Gravidon ultimate spell! *FIGHTING KANCHOMÉ* - This Kanchomé will fall for most of your attacks, but he's not afraid to send Folgore after you with a partner attack that seems to go on forever. Just stick to your aerial Zaker attacks and remember to cast spells against the cannon and beat the heck out of the fake Kiyo. If he uses Koporuk or transforms into a white spot on the ground, stay far away until his Heart Energy runs out or he reverts back to normal. Be careful though, because if you see him charging up Heart Energy, he usually knows that your instinct will be to attack him and then dodge it by turning into the ground. Stay sharp when fighting these two, because it's a big game of rock paper scissors when it comes to Kanchomé and Folgore. *FIGHTING WONREI* - In Mamodo Battles, it's easy to just parry Wonrei's attacks (including his spells). But in this game, he's a dangerous threat. His dash attack is able to break through guard if it hits you, and his Go Boren and Gar Redoruk spells can also get through your guard with there being no way for you to defend yourself other than getting out of the way. Watch out for his blindingly quick and seemingly endless combo string. Don't try to recover from it until he's kicked you up in the air toward the end, or else you'll just bounce back into his range and keep getting hit. You CAN safely block against Ganzu Boren (the rapid energy punches move) and Go Redoruk (the energy-fueled upward kick), but you really just want to catch this guy with as many Jikerdors and Rauzaruks as you can. His number one tool is to stun you during battle so he can let loose, so you want to use the spell that makes it impossible for you to flinch and then go after him with those charged electric punches. *FIGHTING ZENO* - A lot of people say that Zeno is just a stronger, palette swap of Zatch in this game... But I'm afraid that's dead wrong. Zeno and Dufort are an absolute menace in this game, on par with Zofis and Laila. Zeno's combo string is far quicker and deadlier than Zatch's, his partner attack is disorienting and can be led into a Zaker blast that you can do nothing about, and his aerial attack is extremely quick and very destructive. Unlike Zatch, Zeno's aerial attack WILL hit you if he launches it as you're getting back on your feet. Zeno can also have 2 Jikerdor balls on the field at the same time, whereas Zatch can only handle 1 at a time. But the hardest thing to put up with is probably going to be his counterattack. Zeno can teleport away from a projectile attack and then reappear directly in front of you to blast you with a point-blank Zaker. It takes practice to know exactly when he'll reappear so that you can counter accordingly. Luckily though, if he uses his Zakeruga beam, it takes slightly longer for him to recover from it than it does for Zatch. Zeno needs to be fought methodically and with full knowledge of what you're working with. He has his own powered-up version of anything you can throw at him, so know your strengths and weaknesses in battle. Don't leave yourself open by launching a Zakeruga too close, practice avoiding his teleport counterattack, and if there were ever an opponent who you want to stun with Jikerdor and then immediately nail with Bao Zakeruga... it's Zeno.

@@blestmusician2a.k.a.robert263 Oh gosh, I'm sorry if it wasn't clear, but this is not a fanmade sequel. The story modes for Mamodo Battles were different in the English and Japanese versions... we know the English Mamodo Battles story mode, and this is the Japanese story mode translated by me. I'll be sure to release more of it in the coming weeks, so stay tuned! :)

Sorry that this video's so long, everyone. It turns out Zatch's story mode is split up into 2 parts, and that even though the credits rolled at the end of this video, there's still MORE of his story to go through! I was originally going to split Zatch's story mode into 3 parts, but since I showed a fight with Zeno in the preview, I decided to just release it all in one big video. lol Hope that's okay.

@XZatchBellGamerX 3 года назад
Yeah, I see the appeal in both versions. But most people agree that Mamodo Battles doesn't compare to the Friendship Tag Battle games. Being unable to charge up Heart Energy was a dealbreaker. But I do like that there are more defensive options in Mamodo Battles. You have a physical counterattack on top of the regular long-distance counterattack, and then there's the parry system. (But some can argue that the parry system invalidated certain characters, like Wonrei).
