We visited the 2022 Vaisakhi (aka Baisakhi) Festival in Trafalgar Square, UK; the event celebrates Sikh and Punjabi culture and is one of the most important events in the Sikh calendar.
Sikhs give out free langar, langar is Prasad (also known as food blessed by God) so they don't charge for it.
It is very much a welcome return to Trafalgar Square after being at City Hall and More London Riverside.
Many thanks to the S.E.V.A. (Sikh Empowerment Voluntary Association) volunteer team who were serving up the delicious vegetarian food which was Puris (fried flatbread) and Aloo Subzi (dry potato curry).
The S.E.V.A. team (based in Ilford, East London) regularly set up a street kitchen to provide free food for the people (on the streets of the United Kingdom) who need it the most.
