Well, Spawn outsold even Batman in the 1990s, so I'm not surprised he's got a killer rogue's gallery. I'm surprised Spawn hasn't gotten a new animated series on Netflix. 🤷♂️

@@richardsanchez9190 The only reason MOTU "Revelation"was crated was because the "200X" series got cancelled. So if fans aren't going to support a show that was pretty much like the OG Filmation series (only better), then of course they're going to try something new like "Revelation".
Glad to see Spawn getting some love. Seriously my favorite super hero, he was my favorite as a little girl and as a grown woman. Honestly, I think it's the way he treats the women in his life, and his personality.

@@willhuey4891 Todd still plans to make the movie about Sam & Twitch. Problem is he's pretty much paying out of pocket because no one wants to let him Direct it. Also, Michael Jay Fox has shown interest in the role of Al for a while. He just needs the rest of the cast, a Producer (big one), and the Cash.
The level of gore and violence when Todd made the Spawn series in the '90s was top-notched and coincidentally almost released at the same time with Mortal Kombat.
Spawn will always be my favorite,and the hands down best anti-hero. No need for jokes or extraterrestrial origin. Just a homegrown badass with a moral compass.
There were a lot of production issues with the movie as well, it was rushed through editing before it was polished enough, same thing happened to the second Mortal Kombat movie, new line cinema rushed them as a quick cash grab instead of letting the cgi teams polish their product. Jurassic Park came out before these, and has cg that still holds up pretty well, but then again it also had a way bigger budget than Spawn or Mortal Kombat Annihilation
They're in pre-production for one as we speak... Todd McFarlane has said that it's gonna be more horror focused this time around, and it is all but confirmed that Jamie Foxx has been signed to take on the role of Al Simmons.
Not with the script they used. I actually had fun with the movie, but it just came up short in too many ways. Didn’t need to see him in hell, which they didn’t have the budget to pull off.
@@CorbCorbin Are you kidding? He was made for Spawn the way Ian McClellan was made for Gandalf. I can't picture Spawn without seeing him, and I was old enough to buy the comics with my lawn moving money when it came out. His performance overwrote my first impression of the character.
@@joshwright4799 Malebogia, no contest. Spawn power levels go way beyond standard DC levels. There aren't a billion planets in the Spawn universe. Well, there are, but everything is basically planet based. Malebogia is basically Galactus level, so... phantom stranger level at least.
I think you made a mistake on The Violater, he has limited shape shifting power and he is stuck with that clown form originally as punishment from Malbogia for goofing off to much with his duty.

The real Al Simmons is super cool. I met him at the Mcfarlane Toy Store in Tempe,Az without even knowing he ran it. So it was a nice surprise and him, his wife, and a guy named Richard were awesome and made me feel welcome and spoiled hahaha. This was back in 2006 I believe. :)
People don’t realize how awesome this was. A badass black superhero from a comic company that came out of NOWHERE that climbed so fast… so far… changed comics forever and then faded away. Image had a LOT of great titles
Spawn issue 5 was truly groundbreaking. I had never seen or read a comic like that. Billy Kincaid was truly scary because we see people like him in the real world. We work with them, drive by and walk right by them.
man... when I was 13 years old, my friend and I went to theatre to watch spawn the 1st day it came out. We thought it was the best movie ever created. I think we rewatched it twice that day.
Billy Kincaid, Malebolgia and Mammon are my favorite villains in the Spawn universe. I wouldn't call Urizen a "villain", he's more like something else, an entity with no objective, no side, but he's cool too.
John is one of my favorite actors. He's fantastic in everything he's done, and is a hilarious standup comedian to boot. He was the perfect Tibalt in Romeo and Juliet

The fact that the clown violator is also the actor who is in John wick that fixes up the car and plays the sloth in the ice age franchise always blows me away.
This video was great! Made me remember a lot of those characters and realize that Spawn probably has one of the greatest rogues gallery in all of comics, after only Batman and Spider-man, in my opinion!
It's clearly a "M". At first it was assumed that it stood for *Malebolgia* , but it was later revealed that it actually comes from *Mammon* ... Then again, I took a break from Spawn a bit after 200 issues were out (when Al Simmons did, well, you know...), and right now there's more than 300 issues out, so who knows what that M stands for now? Not me, sadly
The animated series was 2nd to none. When I saw the live action movie it ALMOST made me cry. The Billy Kincaid from the comic was changed to the Martin Sheen president character. That change alone made the movie impossible to be as interesting & spooky.
I love the whole story and lore of Spawn, I didn't get to watch the show when I was younger, but I loved the movie, no matter what other people think of it, and I hope one day they do another one now that we have such advanced CGI, it would be so awesome, I'm going to go back and watch that animated series, and I think they made some animated movies after the live action movie, I need to watch them also, I did have some of the comics, so awesome!
Spawn is my favorite all time Super Villan/Hero. I started consuming Image Comics because of the premium quality. Glossy thick pages and exquisite art. It was the best. But when I saw Spawn #1 in that shelf I needed it. My body gravitated straight to it. And it didn't disappoint at all. From there I just wanted to read more and more.
Spawn is one movie I would love to see remade. The original movie gets shat on for the poor CGI and special fx. I really enjoyed it when it premiered. Fingers crossed for a GOOD remake sometime in the near future 🤞🤞
Hell yeah! We still have a 18 inch ( I think, its tall) spawn action figure with the chains hanging! Kept it through all my moves and addictions. And it still brings me joy
I've always loved spawn and think with the next gen systems a truly epic game could be made and movies we need a resurgence of spawn and if they can get the orginal actor or even keith Davidson to do it it would be epic
I think it would have been worth mentioning that the clown appearance (in the books) was said to be a punishment for failure and as close to human form as he can get. Read about that years ago.
Spawn needs a new animated series that’s tv-ma like the Harley or invincible, or a new movie like the Deadpool ones but actually rated R He is seriously such a dope character that doesn’t get enough attention. Him getting put in MK11 is the only reason I still play😂

I’m so glad they are releasing 50 book compendiums, I was a little young for Spawn when it came out so being able to read them all is awesome, I just hope they come out with the off shoot series as well
Spawn the movie was awesome for its time but now definitely we need a new spawn film and rated R like the HBO Spawn animated series that was freaking phenomenal make something like that but live action and you got a winner there.
If you’re really far behind start at 296 and work your way up from there . Issue 314 comes out this next Wednesday and the stories been great highly recommend as a lifelong Spawn fan

My cousin gifted me a bunch of Spawn toys in 1996 when I was in ICU as a nine year old from a car accident. I remember how cool they looked in their unopened packages, better than the teddy bears and Beanie Babies that were decorated in my hospital room. My religious Aunt threw all the Spawn toys away when I asked her where they were.
Thumbnail: Spawn is surprised by how shiny Violator’s head is after he shaved it. The chick on the left is trying to play it off but she is who shaved Violator’s head. She was trying to give him a good hair cut and kept having to shorten it until they both said “ehh screw it just shave it all off”. Hair cuts are very difficult.
You forgot the number one villain: copyright infringement claims. Because that one chapter of Spawn almost got Spawn cancelled when Todd went around asking if it was okay to add Spiderman, Batman, etc into that cel scene in his book. It was a different and much more innocent time 😂😂
I would love to see reboot of this spawn movie for continuity of spawn universe, this superhero movie was amazing and you can imagine how today cgi effects will be.👊🔥

So.. why is Melinda Clarke's character Julie from Return of the Living Dead 3 used in the thumbnail and not Jessica Priest? It's just weird in my opinion
The woman in the thumbnail is not a character let alone a villain in the Spawn movie, while she is technically in the Spawn movie, it's for a different role all together. 😊Her appearance from the thumbnail isn't from Spawn. She played Julie Walker in Return of The Living Dead 3 and towards the end of the movie Julie Walker has inflicted severe pain mechanisms to kept her hunger for human flesh at bay.
