Ok why are so many people in the comment section beating up northern Idaho. I was born here and have lived here my whole life. I’m might only be ten years old but I know that I love it here. The community, the school I go too, everything.
I agree..I’m not 10 but I agree because everything here is just amazing Schweitzer is a place I went to when I was about your age, and I can agree, it’s a very VERY nice place I love living up here it has been an amazing experience for me and my family I wish more people lived up here.
I so agree with you and summer cherries. I’m not 10, obviously I’m quite older but I’ve lived in North Idaho my whole life and loved it. I always love swimming in the lake in summer and watching the river pour down, also the ski resort is amazing. Downtown may be a little crowded at summer but city beach is fun and yea.
So people like to tell Californians and other people how terrible it is because we are trying to keep them from moving here so we can keep it all to ourselves!!! It’s terrible here, I hate it, I never ever wanna leave!!! Stay away please!!!!
I love seeing where I grew up! Brings back so many memories playing volleyball at the city beach, getting ice cream! I even have property and if you go to the city beach you can see where my property is! We even have bald eagles and their chicks living there! Idaho is paradise
They still don't want you moving here. Californian or not. What does California have to do with anything? Californians don't like outsiders either but California gets outsiders wanting to come there from all over the world. Does your state????
I absolutely love the area and the people. My wife and I have some property not far from the lake. I think we are finally at the point where we can work remotely but the building crunch is so bad it's pretty much unaffordable to have a home built now. Hope things settle down a bit.
I’ll be coming to Sandpoint in June to visit for the first time. I’m looking forward to it because I understand it’s a beautiful place! I’m hoping the weather will be nice the first of June. Any suggestions on great restaurants?
my family is moving here soon! yes, we’re from california but we couldn’t be happier to get out of here. it really sucks over here. can’t wait to start fresh here.
Please leave your voting habits where your fleeing away from. Unfortunately most Californians voted for the same things they fled from when they got here in Colorado and turned this once great state into East LA.
I remember when the first street light went up, boy has it changed. Please.if you do move here leave your politics at home, treat others as you would want to be treated no matter they're color, religion or lifestyle. We have always gotten along here, tree planters and loggers, hippies and church folks, lets keep it that way. Thank you
Sand Point is my ultimate place to live, I am currently in Bay City, Michigan. I am an Israelite and need some assistance. I am calling out to ewe. Not looking for monetary assistance either..
seattlevkk not true at all. I’ve been going to Coeur d Alene which is just south of here since I was a kid to visit family. It use to be very homogeneous, but when any non white person was around, they would receive the same hellos from random passers bye and be treated the same. It has since become more mixed in Coeur d Alene, not too sure on Sandpoint but my goal will be to move up there one day to start a family.. the weather is amazing if you like four seasons and the proximity to world class snowboarding/skiing is a major draw
seattlevkk Not.True.! It isn’t true at all! There are a lot of white people, but we aren’t racist! There are accasionaly those couple people that weren’t raised with manners like the comment that says, “why can’t white people have a place to their own...”. There are a lot of white people, but we welcome people with color! I actually have an uncle that is black. He married my aunt and then they moved to Idaho, nobody judges him, and if they do, than they should’ve been raised with manners and respect.
Actually visited last year and had a great time. Everyone we met were really nice, except the family we saw when hiking that clearly didn't like seeing colored people on the trail.
William Meeker last guy moved from California up here with Coronavirus. Our 1st case. Ended up with the most neck of the woods welcome when local fam leaked his info ~_#
Sandpoint and Bonners Ferry, also have NO domestic or homeless shelters. Lots of wife and husband beating and lots of homeless who have no where to go to be safe or get a free meal. Just saying.
There is a shelter for children and resources for abused women. Priest River Ministries and Kinderhaven. There are soup kitchens in various places, every night of the week.
I think you all misunderstood me. What I wanted to say is that if one gets in trouble in Northern IIdaho, the is little help. Especially for Sr women and men. You are pretty much on your own. There are no facilities/shelters in these towns where specifically single adults that a person can go for help. There are good people in Sandpoint and Bonners Ferry, but the need has mot been addressed for but a handful of people. It is a Resort town. A beautiful place to starve to death if you are single, fall on hard times and aren't among the lucky half dozen women who can indeed find shelter in the Hope facility. One has to go to Coeur d'Alene for help if one finds themselves in trouble. The shelters are full of Sandpoint women there, all year round. It is a problem that needs to be addressed.
@@owen8638 But not for older women in the community to get assistance should they fall on hard times. Yes, for families but only shelters in Priest River, not Sandpoint or Bonners Ferry, which has long waiting lists. No one in their right mind would purposely be homeless or come to north Idaho for help. It's those who have moved there years ago then finding little opportunity for a living wage or no employment in their Sr years and alone, that can and do get into trouble and there is no where to go. They were sleepy little logging towns that are now being commercialized and haven't got past the big bucks of Resort and Retirement Communities. They frown upon homeless and force them into Old town, Priest River, Spokane or Coeur d'Alene, shelters. True story.
Mary Poppins It’s nice to have a judge on here making comments. Never call anybody from any state any name unless you know what your taking about. Did you try and hit on a California guy once and he laughed at you??? Seems like it!
