Aang wasn't only able to defeat phoenix king cause of the lion turtle. If the lion turtle didn't show up, I think Aang would have caved and decided to kill Ozai. The lion turtle simply gave Aang an alternative that he didn't know there was. Avatars before simply just put down their adversaries. Maybe it's a stretch but... The lion turtle had nothing to do with his reconnection to the avatar state and he had Ozai on the ropes.
The avatar can bend all element since raava held the elements given by the lion turtles. Vaatu never recieved those elements which is why the dark avatar can only bend one element (unalaq’s own element: water). The avatar also inherits a legacy since the harmonic convergence fused raava with wan for all his lifetimes. Unalaq and vaatu were never permanently fused and if they were they were permanently severed since unalaq was in his “avatar state”.
Actually Raava and Vatu both do t have the power of the elements. Avatar Wan got all four elements from the lion turtles an then bonded with Raava and he created the Avatar cycle. You dont need to have Raavs powers to get more elements. You can only get more than 1 from lion turtles. Raava and Vaatu are spirits. I dont think spirits can bend elements. Raava and Vaatu dont have a humanoid anatomy so they cant do the bending moves and poses
@@gmac5607 Wrong. Its been shown multiple times that spirits can bend, also wan didn’t need rava to hold the elements, he could bend without her, the reason he needed her was so he could use all 4 at once and so that someone could make sure vaatu never escaped. Only thing I never understood was the 5th element aang learned from the lion turtle(spirit) because if spirit bending exists then there was probably supposed to be seven types of bending but wan never got them all.....
Also, before Wan permanently fused with Raava, he could bend all 4 elements. Before Unalaq permanently fused with Vaatu, he could only bend water, which explains why Unalaq as a Dark Avatar could only bend one element
@@djmj1004 Wan could only bend 1 element at a time, Raava had to pass through him to swap his current element with another before he could bend it; he could only bend all 4 at the same time whilst fused with Raava.
@Hasan Ahmed Unalaq and Vaatu were permanently fused, they fused the same way that Wan and Raava fused, the fusion becoming permanent upon making physical contact with the spirit energy from the spirit portals during harmonic convergence; the only reason the dark avatar was not reincarnated after that like the normal avatar is because Vaatu was destroyed by Korra's spirit bending, and Unalaq didn't die, per se; the same would hold true if someone used the dark spirit bending that Unalaq could use, on the normal avatar/Raava
I'm more interested in the Dark Avatar concept. I wish there was more lore & history about it. Too bad it was short-lived, maybe in the future series we will get to see more.
@@DeloFFF Avatar Studios is making an animated movie set during the Era of Aang and after that a series that we currently know nothing about. These are separate from Netflix's Avatar live action series.
@@muhammadayyoobshaikh7095 When Aang was looking for advice from his past lives about how to deal with Ozai, They brought up Chin, Aang said that she didn't really kill him, as it was his own actions that lead to his death, and Kyoshi replied with "Personally, I don't see the/any difference"
@@mercifx aang found one,and if someone in the past got multiple lion turtles to open their Charka then the bending would be passed down (chances of bending being passed down are low tho.....)
@@vetarlittorf1807 but still, I was disappointed. I wanted another being with all four elements, besides the avatar to be an ultimate battle of Yin and yang ☯️ good and evil.
1:49 He actually first entered it in the second episode (aside from when he was first introduced in it), when he fell off of Zuko's ship. But, for some reason, it did NOT, in fact, trigger the statues the way the second time he entered it did. That's another weird thing about it.
Just gotta say, about the idea that the dark avatar can only bend one element, it's nothing set in stone, the thing is that Rava received the 4 elements from the lion turtles and kept them for Wan before their fusion, so technically the who has the ability to bend the 4 elements is Rava, and the Avatar is the one with the knowledge on how to bend the elements (like, any other person could learn other bending disciplines and improve themselves (exemple Iroh) but would never be able to bend other element since that's something only Rava can "grant" by fusing herself with someone and thus giving the person the hability to tap onto other bending disciplines (to wich they still need to learn about said disciplines as we see with Korra and her airbending)), now Vato can't do the same since he was never given said habilities from the lion turtles, the only thing he appears to be able to do is aplify the spiritual power someone already has (like in case of Unalak), hope it helps 🙂
there is no indication that dark avatar can bend only one element, Wan didnt learn 4 elements from Raava but lion turtles, she only kept the elements for him till he did master them and when he fused with Raava pernamently he kept the ability to bend all four elements, Unolock was waterbender before merging with Vaatu, so as dark avatar he could only bend water and some staff added by Vaatu as the beam thing. Question is if those beams was actualy energy bending. Vaatu use that power even when he fought with Wan, but we never saw that kind of power from Raava, closes was Korra when she fought Una-Vaatu, but then she was without Raava. So I think that is more like own spirit energy projection than enerfy bending as shown by Aang.
So, without the Lion Turtles to give Unalaq more Elements; he wouldn't be able to use any other Elements than Water. It's possible that he could find the Fire Lion Turtle (the one that gave Aang Energybending) but it would likely refuse to give him any more Elements. Unalaq could try forcing it; but I doubt it'd work. That is to say nothing of the fact that we don't even know if there are anymore Lion Turtles hiding somewhere.
So that means if Unulaq survived the next dark Avatar would be a water bender Also all the things Unulaq did when he was the dark Avatar that Korra couldn't do was most likely due to harmonic convergence
I think when your a dark avatar u can only bend dark bend however if some elements are weak and strong against each other like water stronger then fire. Then dark bending is the strongest type of bending.
There is no "Dark bending" the dark avatar can only bend his native element(unalaq can only bend water) because vatuu was not storing the elements like ravaa.
I'm seriously aching to know more about dark avatars... Would it have an effect in the next avatar (if there is) ....?? Since Raava passes her spirit on, will Vaatu do same ? Will there be two Avatars in the next generation?? This is so cool 😎
The one thing that I have been curious about is if the energy bending lion turtle was the last living lion turtle then how would he or she reproduce? How do they get their elements? I have always wondered if perhaps the energy bending lion turtle reproduce and if so, what different forms of bending would these new lion turtles have. For example metal bending, as an actual separate form of bending, enabling people to bend platinum because as of late no one can bend platinum because everyone always focuses on the earth impurities in the metal and platinum hardly has any. How about wood bending as another.
@@basha8836 actually i don't think so , what i think there must a important event to ban a style of bending even though is dark and Yakone said "his family has the best quality bloodbenders for generations"
Here is a subject you could talk about; what will happen to the Airbenders that didn't join Tenzin? What if later on they joined together to form their own community or even a full society? What would a potential Nation of Airbenders who are not Monks or Nuns be like?
I doubt they will form a nation since there in earth kingdom territory and are all secluded from each-other. At best they would form a city like Zaofu , but it would still be interesting to see their society ,they will still be very much earth kingdom citizens tho
@@ernestocortez5820 I am thinking they'd have a city. It would be interesting in my opinion. Airbenders that that businesses, military, and other aspects that the Air Nomads don't utilize.
The dark avatar unalaq could only bend one element becaude he didnt get he other 3 elements from the lion turtles. Just like the avatars after Wan got the other 3 elements because Wan got them from the lion turtles and he passed those down to his reincarnations after him. If Unlaq got the other four elements from a lion turtle he would be able to master all four.
Amon blocked bending by using bloodbending to block chakra's, which means that Amon never took away bending. But does that mean that Korra used bloodbending to give back the bending to Lin?
1:49 actually Aang uses the Avatar State already in the second episode when he falls off Zuko's ship into the ocean and uses waterbending to take out his crew
That raises the question if the avatar should study and master sub bending forms like lava bending, energy bending, lightning, does that also mean they should be the only ones taught how to master blood bending? Or is this something only the avatar can learn but there would have to be a master who could teach them how to do it. Katara Outlawed it once the war was over but yet,Unalaq and Tonraq, they were taught from Yakone so obviously waterbenders could pick it up easy enough if they were masters. So many theories….
Korra could have reconnected with her past lives and restored the connection. However, she did not. When Aang was taken down by Azula while in the avatar state and then brought back, that moment in between he had to talk to his four past lives and learn something critical in order to restore the past lives connection. Korra may not have died but could have gone to the spirit world and reconnected with her four past lives in order to restore the connection to the past lives. The new avatar after Korra could not call upon Korra with their avatar powers because they were not connected. That connection is forever lost which is why Korra left a letter for the new Avatar as a means of guidance and wisdom. Hopefully the connection is restored on day.
The Loin Turtles were ancient creatures that held the power of the elements. Only they could pass on the element to people. In the case of the Aang being the first energy bender the answer is no. The lion turtle mentioned a time before the avatar they did not the elements but the energy within ourselves. Therefore, people would have the power of energybending. This appears to be one form of bending that has long since been forgotten by time.
My question is how did Aang go into the avatar state at the last episode of book 2 when the guru said he wouldn’t be able to if he didn’t unlock all chackras but he didn’t unlock them all
8:00 it says that dark avatars can only bend one element, but regular avatars can only do that since avatar Juan was given all types of bending by the lion turtles, and then when rava merged with him he could nend all 4 at once, and that ability was passed down to the other avatars, but if the avatar was with vatu then they would probably be able to bend all elements, as long as the lion turtles had given them all of the elements, that is how I understood it.
I think the next avatar should find a way to get the past lives back like on a journey to the spirit world to find like the spirit of all memories or something and then they do some task and then they gain past lives or some of them
It’s like they threw this video together without actually watching the series…but you needed to watch the series in order to have the questions…that were also answered in the series… Go back around the world again.
The Dark Avatar is only capable of bending one element because Vaatu didn't receive the other elements from the Lion Turtle like Raava did. But if Vaatu did manage to gain every element then he would be just as powerful as the normal avatar. The only difference is that the Dark Avatar would use those powers to cause chaos and destruction
The dark avatar thing isn't really a plot hole or something, if I remember correctly raava only had all elements because wan had them all and they merged. Vaatu couldn't have all four elements because unalaq only has water.
I have noticed some thing if you see See in the vision there is a fire bender and a earth bander and before that there is a water bander So according to the cycle there should be a air bander
What I don’t get is in the secret tunnel episode is said that they learned earth bending form the badger moles but then in Korra they say that the lion turtles gave the elements to humans to protect themselves… what is it???
The Dark Avatar was Unalaq and him alone. When he became a huge dark monster he was in his Dark Avatar State. As it is said if the Avatar is killed in the Avatar State then reincarnation cycle is broken and the Avatar ceases to exist. This must also be true for the Dark Avatar in order to maintain balance and since Unalaq was in the Dark Avatar state there is no reincarnation so no Dark Avatar Cycle.
Did the iceberg stop Aang from aging or did the avatar state do it because of it was the avatar state then the avatar would be able to live for a long time
I wonder if there has been an avatar that died really young maybe as an infant or something like what would the past life be remembered as? Will the next avatar just talk to a baby?
the dark avatar only has one element because he only learnt one, rava went with wan to learn all the elements and then fused with wan so he could use them
So when Katara broke the ice there was a gush of wind that knocked her over I think that wind being trapped in there with no escape kept and floating and there was only as a perimeter not a full orb
In the next avatar series the should do a story line with a tribe that goes into the Spirit world and they find a lion turtles that gives the gift of wood bending and that’s how they can introduce a bending group and then eventually the avatar of that Time will get the ability but he has be the lion turtles go into hiding like the first avatar did and then they can add a new addition to the team avatar’s in the future ana give them some new material to use and work with
Woodbending would likely tie in to Plantbending (a Waterbending form). So, I think it'd be unnecessary. Best bet for new Primary Elements (which I'm guessing you're suggesting) would be Light and Shadow.
What if avatar had a different story: POV: at the beginning of time there was 2 of the strongest spirits vatuu and raava are fighting then 2 people come to help 1 of them helps raava and 1 helps vattu then they both merge with the spirits then then they discover they both have different elements the 8 elements are metal electrical blood flying fire water air earth each avatar has 4 elements the light avatar has fire water earth and air bending the dark avatar has metal lightning metal and blood bending:POV matches in the timeline: light avatar aang vs dark avatar ozai . Light avatar korra vs dark avatar kuvira. Hope u like this timeline theory:D
It doesn't make any sanse, metal lighting blooad and flying are sub bendings from the 4 original elements(air, earth, fire, water)they aren't different elements
In imbalance Toph said that she tried to Teach Aang metal bending but he has problems with the most stubborn element, is normal he can bend the most stubborn part of the most stubborn element
Regarding your article about why it ended after 3 seasons: because it needed to. We really don't need anything else. We need to stop remaking or adding on to stuff this is considered gold. All that happens is it gets ruined by politics and pandering, look at Asami and Korra getting together after both dating the same guy. Look at Ghostbusters, Oceans saga, Terminator, Resident Evil etc. Just stop messing with the classics and stop trying to add on to them
Timebending would be overpowered. However, there could be a way to make it work. Introduce a "Spirit of Time" and have a human Guardian of the Spirit be a Timebender. Same could be done with Space; introducing a "Spacebender". However, only 1 Timebender and Spacebender could exist. The Avatar couldn't learn these forms as they would be WAY overpowered.
No but avatar is strongly based on the 4 elements so adding a new element that has no connection to the 4 elements or the spirit world would kind of go of the story line
@@joesunday199 funny you should mention a Time Spirit 😅 because I already did have that thought 😂 I did some research and found something in I think Hinduism called the “Wheel of Time” and I then came up with an ancient spirit who protects it and can use it to travel through time and make sure that the timelines follow their true path. 😄 then some one discovers this Wheel and abuses it to try and alter history to gain power, but their attempts threaten to unravel the fabric of time and the Avatar has to learn how to use the wheel of time properly to travel back and stop them 😅 and after that, I kind of have him do the sort of thing that the Doctor does in Doctor Who 😄 travels through time and make sure no one messes with the timelines 😅
I don't like the concept of Rava having a spiret of good or evil is so aggents what avatar was based on, which was Eastern mythologys which doesn't have the good or bad spirts
Well of course the Dark Avatar can only bend one element, Vaatu wasn't bestowed with the power of any element, all that the Davatar has is the element they're born with
how about instead of your long, winded explanation, we just say that, when in stressed out, the avatar state can manipulate some of the elements, but only basic techniques, so he water bent himself into a protective bubble, but ended up freezing, since after all, he has not mastered the avatar state or the elements.
