How much of a fight Cody Rhodes put on for the fans back at his Hell in a Cell match against Seth Rollins, shows how much appreciated hard work, loyalty, charisma, and devotion, he gets from the fans reactions. No matter what his injuries were he still main evented the whole entire show and still to this day, it is still one of the most memorable moments in professional wrestling. Remember Cody Rhodes did this for us and for the WWE universe.
Yeah that was insane. Visible injury looked bad enough but what was beneath skin level was wayyyyy worse. A fully torn pec and other conteibuting factors!! Insane he did a hell in a cell match with that AND did crazy spots!! What a real soldier.
The legendary Undertaker , Even Being Burned Into a Tons of fire he still managed to Completely Fought off that elimination chamber match in 2010 .. That was Legendary Act
I don’t think anybody on this list is as tough as Mick Foley. He definitely went through hell in that Hell In A Cell match. I’m very surprised he was able to finish the match.
Ohhhh yeah that was insane too!!.cody was number 1 for me becsuse he went in with that injury in to a HIAC match and did insane spots. But Mick for going through what he suffered DURING the fight is on a par
The fact that Cody Rhodes managed to win the Hell in a Cell match against Seth Rollins with a heinous looking pectoral muscle absolute amazed me the entire time. Rhodes deserves a lot of respect for risking every single second of it.
he ripped his peck off his bone it was not getting any worse. says so in the video. worst muscle tear you can have is off the bone there is no worse. muscles are designed to tear your whole life that's why they heal well.
HBK wrestling with his back messed up at WM14 always made me have a huge respect for him as a performer. The pain you visually see him having during that match is undeniable. & even tho it wasn’t how great it could’ve been, he still did a really good job performing in that match
That is actually really cool about Gangrel! It's unfortunate the injury happened, but it goes to show you never know what will add to a character. Something as completely innocuous as a bruise made a character stand out from the pack (I mean, moreso than it already did!)
Rhodes and Rollins in Hell in a Cell was the main event for the first premium event I’d watched in over 15 years, just coming back as a wrestling fan. It was so hard to watch, but also one of the best matches I remember seeing. Ever.
F*ck man...when i saw that injury on Rhodes...i don't know how to explain the sensation, but it's like i legit felt some slight pain myself. Massive respect to him for keeping the show go on for the fans and also massive respect to all involved in this video.
You mean to tell me that Undertaker had a broken foot during the HIAC match against Mankind?!?!?!?! THE SAME MATCH WHERE JIM ROSS SAID “GOOD GOD!!!!!! GOOD GOD ALMIGHTY!!!!!!!!! THAT KILLED HIM!!!!!!!”?!?!?!?! Damn!!!! No wonder he’s in the WWE Hall of Fame.
This video should've included WCW matches, if only to cover Sid's horrific leg fracture in 2001. I still remember watching that live. Thought his boot had slipped off at first, it was just at such a unnatural angle. Certainly the most graphic wrestling injury that I can think of that doesn't involve blood. That had to be excruciating, and for quite some time too.
I used to do martial arts, and seeing someone wrestle with as bad a back injury as HBK or Cody had makes me wince. I have to say that's a respect thing cause I know for sure I couldn't do it, but they pushed through. Kudos 💯
The 2003 elimination Chamber Match @ Summerslam 2003 was awesome the entire PPV was awesome Especially The Kurt Angle vs Brock Lesnar Match for the WWE Title and I have that PPV on DVD which is awesome RVD vs Kane was also a great Match and St Anger by Metallica is an amazing song.
@@clutch4880 You're absolutely right and I have that PPV on DVD and it has Sable on the Cover her second WWE Run is legendary and her Feud with Torrie Wilson is iconic for me since that Bikini Challenge @ Judgement Day 2003 was a great segment.
If you're in the business, it's what you do. It's what you are trained to do. Whether as an independent worker or a star in a major federation. Some do, indeed, go beyond what is expected. A real reason to respect those who sacrifice their bodies and a reason that the term "fake" is a disrespectful term.
I’m telling you till this day if John Cena did not get injured at summerslam 2013 he would have beaten danial bryan easily that night Cena was on a role that year he should have won
Cody Rhodes wrestling Seth Rollins...& Winning with a Torn Pec muscle has to be in the Top 3. Seriously it looked like his chest was bleeding internally and was about to fall off.
These are truly great people indeed and we appreciate their hardwork and determination for what they do. We also appreciate some of their opponents who still helped make the matches a success while knowing their colleagues are injured . Honestly God Bless Them with Good Health👏🙌💪
As a John Cena fan. I was so scared for him at SummerSlam. When Bryan targeted the elbow i really that the ball of fluid on Cena’s elbow was gonna pop and spew blood from under that elbow pad.
Having ur biggest match ever injured but against the undertaker is actually quite a blessing, the undertaker is extremely safe to work with especially if he knows ur injured.
Huge respect to these man putting their bodies and lives on the line for our entertainment, a lot of them could easily take a leave of absence and it would be 100% justified but still put on a show!
7:54 Undertaker is one of the few men in this world that I would legit shy away from getting into a scuffle with. I don't care if WWE is scripted, the things the man has done while his body was screaming at him to stop...and most people never even noticed he was in pain...yeah I don't care how badass you are, you're gonna have your work cut out for you stopping someone with that much of a pain tolerance.
The dumbest had to been when he was in WCW and punched through a limousine window. He tore his arm open all the way to the bone on the broken glass. He destroyed tendons & ligaments and was at serious risk of losing his arm for a while. He's damn lucky the surgeons were able to repair it.
The fact the Goldberg carried on with the fight after he’d given himself a concussion is ridiculous. He literally could have been killed if he’d developed SIS. Even now with everything we know I still don’t think concussions are taken seriously enough in wrestling
I watched gangrell wrestle zicky dice championship wrestling from Hollywood this past weekend. I noticed gangrell was limping, I thought he injured his ankle during the match, but now I know that injury goes back decades. All I can say is wow.
Angle is a madman. I understand how he felt and made his decision, but dear God. It's also weird lesnar nearly broke his neck with the failed shooting star press in their match.
You do one where wrestlers stuffed in where a wrestler is stubborn injuries prior to matches like for example at 1 time the young to take a wind down the rain and he was burned by the pyro techniques and rushed down the ring in the Elimination Chamber match they sprayed him with water to try to cool him down but he suffered some Burns except for some Burns then there was also Triple H at 1 where he was dealing with a dry ice effect and some of the dry ice guy on his chest and skin those are 2 injuries I will put on the list.
This list is for wrestlers who had injuries before a match started but wrestled anyway so the one I'm going to mention doesn't really qualify. But I'm still going to mention it: Triple H in the first Elimination Chamber at Survivor Series 2002. Rob Van Dam botched a frog splash from the top of the cage and landed on Triple H's throat, crushing his larynx. That meant he couldn't breathe yet somehow he managed to finish the match. How the heck do you wrestle when you can't breathe?
thats also why i loved john cena in 2015 and even now him with the U.S title felt right he gave talent like zayn cesaro, styles, owens and rusev a fair chance at such prestigous title like the U.s championship and he contuined to get better every week and by the time 2015 elimination chamber rolled around he offered and put kevin owens over as a crediable star he is truely greatat
Weird how they had to write Edge out of No Way Out 2003 on the show due to a neck injury, only for Kurt to reaggravate his own from the '96 Olympics...
I still think Cody shouldn't have performed with that injury. There's no need to put yourself through so much pain just to entertain us. Maybe just call it an injury caused by whoever they're feuding with, put together some 'exclusive footage' showing the incident, you can even say police are investigating. You can get treatment and then come back with a 'serious score to settle' that 'goes beyond being a professional wrestler and is deeply personal', not unlike Seth Vs Riddle, which was done so well.
The reason he chose to compete was that his injury was already as bad as it could get. The muscle was completely detached. So there was no chance he could worsen the injury by competing in the match. Thus his recovery time was not affected whether he competed or not.
I seriously wish that Jeff Hardy would’ve done the same thing that Shawn did and taking time off to try and heal up as best as possible. Jeff Hardy could’ve been as good if not better than Shawn Michaels if he would’ve recovered properly
And again Angle with his broken neck. That guy was a fighter. Won olympic gold medal with broken neck and wrestled in one of the main events again with FREAKIN broken neck.
Idk why they didn’t just have Triple H wear tights when he was recovering from the groin tear. I mean he used to wear them and they looked just fine, I don’t think anyone would’ve questioned it.
