Pikopiko lol he said "Peekoe-peekoe". Puha is nice too, grows everywhere, goes good in a boil up and watercress

Hi Mari, very interesting video. Thanks for sharing. I remember having ferns in our backyard in our previous home in Sydney, though we never attempted to eat any of them. You did well having an expert with you like Peter. Personally, I would have a lot of difficulty identifying safe to eat plants from the others. Years ago, when we became lost in the Wellington Botanical Gardens, we thought we may have to take up foraging there to survive until the search parties arrived!!!! LOL. Anyway, take care and all the best. Robert.

Yeah I think I need to learn a lot more before I feel confident to know what's what. haha glad you got out of there okay!

It was a rather strange experience. There we were in the dark dense jungle of the Wellington Botanical Gardens. Crocodiles in every direction. Our faint cries for help continuously drowned out by the city noise. Would we ever find the exit?? How would we survive?? If only I had known how to couch-surf in those days!!! Hmm!! I think I have just managed to write a short cliff-hanger here!!! LOL.

Ya know you could perhaps follow this up with... "How to dig for clams // NZ Seafood", I was going to invite you a couple of weeks ago to go digging for clams with me at the sumner estuary. Would make a fun collab if you're interested :) I might go again this sunday or monday sometime, let me know if you want to come, have to look at the tide times and go at low tide. On sunday, low tide is 4:59pm, monday low tide is 5:55pm.

Pisses me off when nzrs miss prenounce maori words. Its just like italian, spanish or any other languages. They have their own way of saying words. I can forgive people from other countries, but nzrs should know better by now. Pikopiko was said wrong the o in maori sounds like awe. If you don't want to speak maori properly then use English terms only please because people from other countries who sees this will think that's the proper way of saying it.

Apologies, I didn't realize that one was mispronounced. Ever since I took a Maori class I've been trying so hard to get my pronunciation right. But I've also noticed how so many people say the names of places wrong!
@okiesbrb

Sorry Mari I wasn't getting at you as your new to the country. So no need for you to apologize. However the guy with you. NO". He was teaching you using the Maori term wrong. That's like somone teaching a Korean word wrong and then it is uploaded for all who watches thinking, that's how you say that korean word when in fact is wrong. I must say im impressed that you are noticing people mis-pronouncing. I'm also grateful to you and nick for taking the time to learn maori. Keep up the good work.

Least he's trying. You can barely type in English so maybe you shouldn't be allowed to use it. Sounds stupid doesn't it? That's how you sound. Don't be a dick because people are trying to speak more than one language. Closed minded ass. You give us Maori a bad name.
