With the number of new anime getting released every season nowadays I'm getting ready for you to also make: *_"10 Anime You Need to Stay Away From This Season!"_*
I think Mother's Basement forgot to put this in the description so you know what is going to be on the top 10 list. I hope this helps. HEY I want to say thanks to everyone who keeps leaving positive comments and thanking me for the list! From now on for every season Ill do the same list! ^_^
He was joking about If Its For My Daughter, I think, because he said he used it as a bait-‘n-switch on us and then told us about how fun Do You Love Your Mom was. Still, thanks for the time stamps, I was actually planning on coming back to this video to decide which ones of these I’d be checking out so this’ll be very helpful(It’ll be so much easier than trying to look for it myself). Thanks again 👍🏽
David that's a bit of a myth, but Australia isn't as dangerous as they say it is. Yes we have the most dangerous spiders, and snakes in the world. Yes I could go for a walk to a large area with long grass, and probably find said snakes, but no-one has died from spider-backs here for a long time, and as long as you have common sense, you'll be fine with snakes too. Sure our summer temperatures get up to 40+ degrees, but we're used to them the same way that england is used to cold temperatures.
Given is great. Don't let the term Boys' Love stop you, It's fun, sweet, cute, tender and at times heartbreaking. It's one of the best drama animes out there.
Thank you Jeff for calling out "If it's for My Daughter, I'd even defeat the Demon Lord" and stories like it as grooming fantasies. They are truly gross in a visceral way and your "Why?!" segment was perfect.
Josh Dollins in the manga, the little girl falls in love with the guy who raised her and they get together when she’s 16 even though he’s been her father for 10 years by that point.
Honestly tho I've been reading the manga blindly and when Papa Geoff mentioned how the novel went I had the exact same reaction. IT WAS GOING SO GOOD WHY DID THEY LEWD THE LOLI!!!
@@mothersbasement All attempts made to find this reaction pull up videos about Overwatch. I'd love to appreciate his reaction, but I need help finding it.
@@TheRelaxedGoatwoman That was actually a brilliant use of that meme and you have made my day a _tiny_ bit happier. A non-existent, completely worthless gold star of accomplishment to you good sir.
I literally let out a mental "NOOOOOOOOO" when you showed what happened with If it's for my Daughter in the latter chapters. I just want a cute parent-adoptive child story god dammit. Why does it have to devolve into a romantic relationship. God.
@@flygod. Just because part of the animation is lousy doesn't mean the series as a whole is trash. I'm quite enjoying the story so far. Like most Isekai series with overpowered protagonists, it's mostly a comedy / slice of life show where the action is a secondary concern at best.
I mean, probably already too late. Imma definitely be callin it MILFsekai. The internet is like Pandora’s box, ya can’t just expect to put the meme back in once you take the lid off
Also worth mentioning the artwork in the manga is absolutely impeccable, so you're not only getting to read up on what goes down before it gets animated, but you'll get gorgeous artwork the whole time(even when it's being silly!) while you do it
"hey turns out you're not blood related" "hey, turns out she's actually a 1000 year old vampire." "hey, I murdered him in cold blood, but he actually turns out to be a man-eating bug." same energy
After the Onepunch-Man S2 drama, I appreciate the attention to letting us know WHO is working on these instead of just saying which studio has its logo on the anime.
@Jhumm 03 Being a uni student and having been on my summer holiday for basically two months , I feel as if the summer holidays are near the end even though for everyone below me they're only just finishing off from school. I still have until the end of September too.
Funny story about my own mother once (The recommendation of Milfsekai made the perfect opportunity to share it) I once thought that the phrases "Chewing out" and "Eating out" meant the same thing, so after an argument that we had I apologized by saying "Sorry for eating you out like that" and she just laughed before informing me of what I had just said... almost 2 years later (I'm 16 now, I was 14 at the time) and she still hasn't let me forget about that. It's kinda turned into an inside joke at this point.
"The Big 3" when I was growing up used to be Bleach, Naruto and One Piece. For this season it's Fire Force, Dr. Stone and Vinland Saga. How Heavy Are The Dumbbells You Lift is also a fun watch. All of this is just my opinion.
Just telling you right now, Vinland saga will have the deepest storytelling this year. As a manga reader, the fact that we got an adaptation this beautiful and faithful is amazing, the best part of the series is its respect to history and the ruthless culture it depicts. For many scandinavians this is super exiting, as we hardly get authentic or at least somewhat faithful depictions of our culture and legends, and Vinland saga does a great job, sure some of the fights are exaggerated but to be honest the attention to detail in the day to day lives really warmed me up. So im happy that they´re taking their time to immerse you, the world building is the best part.
I was also saddened by the fact that If Its for my Daughter I'd Even Slay the Demon Lord goes that route. It would have been much, much better if it was a wholesome show about a struggling single dad trying to raise his daughteru. Oh well, that's anime for you.
@@Chris-rj6vh lmao dude you dont have to go to Japan for that kinda nonsense. Check the front page of PH and try and tell me you don't see step-fantasy shit all over it.
@Manny Fleurmond like others have said, that looks like the 8th book so it's safe to say we won't be getting anywhere close to that in this season. I really do recommend watching it though because I have read the second book and it is actually super wholesome.
Sadly I know what happens in the future and all I can say is that the story, if they follow the manga closely, is going to not just drag to a slow pace but.. Basically die. The pace is just horrifyingly bad at a later point. What comes after is, of course, some good stuff, but having spent 20-30 chapters dragging myself through the glass shard covered fields I wasn't happy.
@@-TPLT It might be more enjoyable in an animated format...but 20-30 issues of them sitting around crafting things was about as thrilling to me as 20-30 hours of crafting stuff in an MMO.
It sure took Japan 14 years to get their heads outta their asses and adapt this manga. The HST is old shit since Vinland Saga came out and fuck shounen manga!
You can definitely see how much of fire force’s budget goes into the dynamic shots by how many of the other shots are just static frames, but man do those dynamic shots Make it worth it
@@Hyperversum3 Understand what you mean haha. It's good fun, and it's on my watch list, but it's nothing like the shows on this list. It's a glorified gym commercial. Very enjoyable, quality waifus and I like the instructional aspect, but not something like dr. stone, fire force, or any of the others
He made zero mention of A Certain Scientific Accelerator as well which really deserved an honorable mention. I wouldn't expect it to be on a top 10 list given the competition, but acting like the To Aru franchise just doesn't exist or is a very tiny piece of the business selling pie just isn't very honest to what amounts to almost the anime version of the MCU at this point.
Protip for anyone wanting to get into Vinalnd Saga, speaking as someone who started with the anime, it's a fantastic watch. But for its inevitable season 2 I highly recommend reading the manga first. It's easily my favorite arc in the entire story however people have been known to drop the manga when it was currently printing said arc due to it's slow character focus. I think it's a masterpiece but in my personal opinion it is ideal to experience it all at once. Of course you could choose to wait for season 2 to completely finish and then watch it, or just ignore me and enjoy it however you like. I love the next arc of Thorfinn's story and I have a feeling most everyone who enjoyed season 1 will too.
I've been saying that a table of contents should be in the comments for all of these videos for 2 years now, so I'm just going to put one in the comments instead of asking for it again. 1. The Case Files of Lord El-Melloi II: Rail Zeplin Grace note Crunchyroll 0:32 1.5. If It's For My Daughter, I'd Even Defear the Demon Lord Crunchyroll 3:01 2. do you love your mom and her 2 hit multi target attacks Crunchyroll 4:46 3. O Maidens In your Savage Season High Dive 7:13 4. Doctor Stone Crunchyrole 9:54 5. Given Crunchyrole 12:04 6. Cop Craft Funimation 16:11 7. Astra: Lost In Space Funiation 18:08 8. The thing I like most about "O' maidens in your savage season" is that because I'm asexual, I never experienced anything that they are experiencing. And they show it in a hilarious and interesting way while also being really endearing
Heyyy hell yeah! And hey, as an Aro, I'd like to see a realistic way of tackling romance alongside the ordeal of puberty as well! This one definitely looks like a ride! :D
Goddamnit, I can't believe anime beat me to my "Legolas gets reverse-isekai'd into Real-World Florida and becomes a detective, Legolas But With A Gun."

I've only been following these videos for a couple weeks now, but I love how intimate the descriptions are for these anime are. The added personal touch helps us understand why these were important, unlike some oh too shallow anime watch lists that sound like they're being paid off. And if the banter of witty jokes and surprisingly accurate but harsh truths weren't awesome enough, we also get meaningful substance with descriptions of why the anime was important to the speaker at that time in his life. This lets us feel the passion for the show, weather good or bad; and that's what I love about these review's and lists. I feel a little more inspired after watching these, and it feels pretty awesome :) Didn't mean to ramble .. oops .. Keep up the good work Jeff
And it's done subtley. They're all refered to as Danes but only the raiders are "Vikings". Even professional soldiers are not refered to as Vikings. Thorfinn does start raiding doing Viking things pretty soon into the show, though.
Thank you for mentioning Given!! I love the manga (the art is really beautiful) and I'm looking forward to watching it. Oh man thanks for the heads up on UchiMusume I'm so sad it ends that way I'm dropping it now lmao
@@arturcarvalho6370 Also known as Usagi Drop on Crunchyroll, it's a sweet story of a single dude who adopts his father's 6 year old daughter after his father passes and everyone else see's her as.... embarrassing. And it's just about a guy who has to get used to raising a child with an adorable daughter. The issue is that you should only watch the anime, because the manga reveals that they apparently aren't related and that the daughter grows up and has romantic feelings for her adopted father and they get together and it's wrong and why... Just watch the Anime and stop there.
@@McMindflayer thanks for clarifying. I am scared but I brought it on myself. It's basically incest with extra steps. Get adopted, grow up, become couple with adoptive parent. WHY?
To be honest, I've seen a lot of Firefighter-related shows and manga coming out recently besides Fire Force and Promare. I think it's just one of those themes that come out of random that people are suddenly writing about.
The Ones With In definitely a must watch. It took youtube/twitch streamers, Assassination School goofy looking mentor/teacher, Eureka Seven great character development, and put it all in a Isekai blender. It's been a long time that I cared about an anime character so much to re-watch an episode to remember their name, skill, or background story.
4:10 Let's just hope it does what the anime of Bunny Drop did and end before *that* happens. That was one time no one minded that the anime ended partway through.
@@justinbuergi9867 how is dale creepy? He saved the girl who'd likely have died with zero personal gain for himself and everyone who's never read the novels claims its shit like usagi. He's more of a brotherly figure to her and the romance doesnt start until she's older.we dont get a shitty time skip but see the relationship develope overtime
@@mejur2662 If anything it is the Girl who would be Creepy as she is the one that from day one (at age 8) saw Dale as something other then a Father figure. Dale until she Figuratively hits him over the head with a hammer, and then gets explained to him by his friend what that Hammer actually means ONLY sees her as his cute little daughter, and even AFTER that he STILL says to her he will give her a Proper answer when she is a few YEARS older meaning they will still keep it on a loving but not romantic level for a while still. So if you have a problem with that, I guess you have a problem with say a 40 y/o marring a 30 y/o too...
Just watched the last episode of Given and it was incredible. Really well written show, the music part is not up to beck awesome soundtrack but the story is solid and will make you feel.
Geoff, When you talk about a lot of shows in one video, would you mind maybe putting timestamps in the doobly doo so we can click through and skip the ones we don't want to listen to?
He didn’t mention this but I’d recommend “How Many Kilograms Are the Dumbbells You Lift?” If you like to work out or need some motivation to. It’s a really good show
Haha this is so true. when she was like i stopped eating snacks to lose weight so now I have one huge meal to get me through the day, in the last episode. I literally yelled no at my tv before they had a chance to correct her. I will say tho, Macho's work out tips got old fast. The show itself is pretty dumb but if you lift or have ever dedicated yourself to that lifestyle you'll get a kick out of it.

@@alzhanvoid Congragulations, you get the prize of getting an honest answer for being the first person ever to insult my brony status (in all seriousness, I didn't even get dissed for it in my marine corps days, even got a rainbow dash plushie from one of my buddies during training). It's funny, has relate-able characters, and has some rather nice lessons that are rather simple but still quite useful.
@@daltonhall5888 Oof, appreciate the response, but looks like you really missed the very clear sarcasm in my comment, especially since I added a second sentence very clearly implying it, as in, it's ironic a weeb would be calling out a brony. Or in other words, not being serious in my comment
@@alzhanvoid I think the reason i didn't recognize the sarcasm is that since sarcasm/irony is mostly recognized through vocal tones and inflections in the voice, and the second sentence says that there is no irony in the comment, without the inflections to know the second sentence was sarcastic I took it as serious, then taking the whole comment as serious. It's a common problem in texting with people you don't communicate with often.
Hey. Thank you so much for makin' these every season. My partner and I really look forward to each of your videos, but we especially appreciate your seasonal recommendations, especially given how much time each of these takes to make, I'm sure. We usually only have time to watch maybe one or two episodes of a show on some weeknights, so it sucks to realize that a show has gone down a shitty rabbit hole (for my daughter, for example). So having found that our tastes align with yours, we look forward to seeing what you consider the best shows of the season in order to help us prune the big list down. Love ya, Geoff, keep it up! PS - yes, Re:Creators is fucking amazing and I wish more people would watch it.
Given is fucking amazing, as a guitarist it gave me chills as there were so many little things that make it feel complete from the brands, to even a blood tuning pedal. 10/10
Me: I don’t think I will watch any anime this season. The pope: this anime doesn’t seem like a grooming fantasy. Me: ow cool. Was afraid of that. Guess I will... ow... never mind... why?
@Channel Arcane He actually recommended them during his video about anime games on sale on Steam last year and even put them on the number 2 spot. He was the reason why I even got interested in the series after having enjoyed Danganronpa a lot.
I’m actually not much of an anime guy, but I love to use these videos to look for manga recommendations too. Dr Stone and Vinland Saga are two series I was interested in and I definitely think I want to read both now.
A 3 second mention of Sket Dance made my day! Such a fabulous anime that I feel a lot of people missed when it aired. We hadn't quite perfected the science of listing every anime in existence for each airing season yet. I hope someday you can give it more of a mention, along with other hidden gems of the early 2000s!
@@authorbhattacharjee4957 It truly is. The unfortunate thing is that many people will likely drop Vinland Saga because they think it's "boring" and doesn't have as much action. Farmland Saga is a story of character development, building relationships, and fighting past demons. It's beautiful and inspiring, but the people who were just in it for the fights won't see that.
just "why!?" ha hga ha I love the "why" segment. lol I already started watching that father daughter one and was excited as it's adorable. I agree I'm frustrated if that is the future of the show :(
One of my friends introduced me to anime by showing me attack on titan a couple weeks ago and now I’m hooked to anime, I never thought I would like it but I do
My favorite: DanMachi 2. I’m a light novel reader though and the author’s attention to detail and world building has always captivated me. That along with the whole gods living among humans for entertainment and the mystery of the dungeon that gods refuse to say much about has kept me engaged. S2 is going to be pedal to the metal starting on episode 2 so I’m pretty excited to see how things turn out when animated. With the new director and a devoted team at JC already finishing half the season before the 1st episode aired, I have high hopes. Thanks for your continued hard work and keen assessments every season.
I'm debating if I should wait for the dub or not. I initially watched the series at a viewing party, so those are the voices I'm used to. It would also give me an excuse to finish Volume 6 of the LN, which has been sitting in my backlog for months. So much for reading ahead.
Vinland saga is way too underrated, it’s an amazing anime with a roller coaster of emotions and deeper meaning to many things in life. The ending is amazing. Trust me, you guys should watch it.
I'm so happy that Vinland Saga was highlighted. I feel like more than a few people are overlooking it this season. On another note I refuse to believe "If It's for My Daughter.." will turn into what I assume is a creepy incest fest or a certain kind of parental "grooming". How could something seemingly so wholesome take such a sharp left turn in Creepsville? God I hope it deviates from the source material that everyone is talking about😔
"Hoku to no Bill Nye". Geoff, you need to warn me before you do that, I was taking a drink and nearly choked from laughing. You could've killed me, Geoff. _Geoff._
