Good list. Good that Germany is not mentioned. Born and raised here and the school system is very old and outdated and the social system is broken and in 30 years not there any more.. Austria or Switzerland are way better options as mentioned in the list. Germany is becoming more and more like the States. I am saying that because there is a misconception about Germany because it is not a nice country to live in people are very introverted here too and the language is very hard even for natives.

Sure the climate may be perfect and the living costs low - BUT you still need to get that cash from somewhere. Cheap countries dont offer big salaries...so whats the point...

I was discussing these countries with a Swede, and they mentioned this too. The funny thing is it felt far safer to walk around Stockholm as a foreigner than being a local in the United States in any of our cities. Checking the data, it looks like Sweden as a whole is comparable to the US in crime statistics, but there are a couple factors that make me question the comparison. For example, in the US, vehicle deaths are much higher, AND drivers are often not charged even if they are negligent. I'm not saying one is safer, but sharing some things I've heard and researched. My personal take is that it is safer than the US from what I've seen, but what you said is consistent with what others tell me: there seems to be a notable gap between Sweden and say Denmark in safety.
