Wow this is brill ive just joined the club after xrays this week...grrrrrr.. Thank you for posting this non noisy narrated video your professionalism making the video has won me over im heading down to my basement to get my short step ladder just like the one the model is using.
Hmm! Some of these exercises look doable, but others less so, particularly the ones where the lady appears to be kneeling or lying on the floor. I have severe OA in one hip and would find getting onto the floor very painful to say the least. I might skip the floor exercises and try the standing / sitting ones only!
Hi. I am a 54 year old female diagnosed with Mild Left Hip Osteoarthritis. I started these exercise today along with anti-inflammatory diet because I am hopeful I can greatly delay advanced Arthritis. These exercises feel great. I do have some questions. Can I add ankle weights to these exercises? Can I do more reps than what is in the video?
Thank you! I've done this sequence, plus other similar exercises I've seen in videos and my pain subsided for the time being. I've just been diagnosed with AO, (well at least I know why I was in so much pain for last 3 years). I'm waiting for physio to start, but in the meantime would be interested to know what I can do to keep myself in shape while not to eleviate AO. What regular exercises are safe and which ones are not?
These exercises are good but it would be better if the standing ones would be all done first and then the floor ones.....getting up and down with a bad hip is painful!!!
I have had advanced osteoarthritis of hip for 3 yrs and do at least 1/2 of these moves daily + walk until I cannot with assistance of a cane. Am awaiting total hip replacement due to financial restraints.... every day is so hard ...water aerobics really helps- physically + mentally too!
@@dancer2189 Osteoarthritis is the result of wear and tear on joints. I worked for years as a nurse, which involved a lot of lifting. Using my legs to lift saved my back, however the hip joints got the impact. I have had one replacement, will be getting the other soon. These exercises do help to reduce pain as well as maintain flexibility.
hi Thanks for these exercises. they look good and I am going to try them. The first exercise is shown from the side ... what is she actually doing with her leg? iIs it a straight back and forth swing pr is she crossing over her right leg?
I wondered this myself so I RU-vid how to do a pendulum hip exercise. You gentle swing forward and backward. You do not not cross over to opposite leg.
Thank You! Just what I was looking for, surgeries are all on hold while hospitals deal with covid. Q: What is the best time of day to do this routine? I have horrible nights and in the morning it hurts to get out of bed.
Should all the exercises be done on one side first, then replayed and done on other? Or stop the vide0 after each exercise and do on the opposite side?
+Diane Couey ~Today is day 2 of the 12 day cleanse….and in one day have 95% reduction of swollen joints…continuing on with the 12 days… Excited to feel better. check their site, surely they can help you too.. Click here ~~>> t.co/Df43rlkNuW
+Diane Couey Thanks Diane, If you need to perform the exercises on both legs, then go with your second suggestion to stop the video, perform on the opposite leg and then move-on to the next one
+good exercise guide greetings, I've developed an intermittent left hip that at times stops all of my activities. No amount of pain meds help this problem. Will you please make another video that is like the old exercise tapes with some soothing music in the background? I would appreciate it very much. Thanks and God bless you.
My PT had me doing the stretching 3 x a day and the work 3x week. Then after about 8 weeks- I progressed to stretching 1x a day. But I will do more if needed and pain increases
I have a question for the last exercise shown, the prone extension. I have a Harrington Rod from T1-L2-3 spine levels, this exercise doesn't seem to be a good one as I do not have good if any ROM at this level of my back. Pros and Cons on this excercise.
there are different types of osteoarthritis. In my case I am diagnosed with grave arthritis, but I have little pain AND also a very high pain threshold. I can do these and many more really tough stuff with my hips and I LOVE to do it due to my motivation and my objectives.I am 71 y.o but something of an athlete andI will do ANY type of exercise if they are at all possible. Well, in many cases I can not to exercises because I do not have enough mobility. A
There are a few tips for ways to exercise back muscles Gradually build up to walking 3 miles per day Try an anti-inflammatory diet Consider starting yoga lessons Checkout some online guides (I discovered these and why they work from Fergs Pain Ease site )
No way this lady has arthritis, should have someone doing the exercises who actually has arthritis, like an older person, so we know it actually works.
Who cares, april mae? doesn't matter. What matters is seeing the stretches demonstrated clearly and correctly, which this lady does. Do you want to see someone grimace in pain or something?
