You can also get the Nevada Hat from the Sheriff of Valentine. I prefer the ornate dagger over the broken pirate sword but I like to get everything. Also when you get the raccoon mountain hat. Next time you are in Valentine and you can hear ol Jon in the saloon rent a room in the hotel and put the hat on and he'll run clear up to your room and fight ya. Or if you just show up in town wearing the hat he'll attack ya in the street.

Pirate hat from iguana island is still the best hat for me

I think the veteran hat is the most beautiful its has alot more detail on it, its a shame its a blue colour, but the gold medal, red ribbon and feathers add alot of detail to it

There’s a rare rolling block in found it in chapter 3 in the mission with Charles where you go looking for trelany just check all the body’s not sure if its 100% to spawn on one of the bounty hunters but that’s how I found it so take this as you will

So why do I lose hats that I pick up? It gives the option to swap and if I leave I don’t have that hat anymore. I went in that mine to get the knife and the dead guy had a miner hat which I thought was awesome because it has a light on it. Well I swapped with another hat that I liked and when I left, it was no longer in my inventory or on my horse. Then I switched at my horse for Arthur’s hat, and the miners hat disappeared! It’s not on the ground or my inventory or anywhere! Wth??

for that first guy, I no joke I got jumped by this guy and as the fight was finishing up (trying my best to just defend because it was my 2nd fist fight) the sheriff shows up and just blasts the two of us with all of his deputies. I feel no remorse for my actions in valentine in the following days.

Need help with understanding hats. I went and got the Nevada hat. Then went to get minners hat with a light. Went back to the horse. Checked to see what 3 hat's I had and decided to switch to the Nevada. So now I'm wearing the black Nevada and looked to check if I still had the minners hat. I don't. I don't see it on the ground, or in my horse items. I still have 3 hat's but the minners hat vanished. I went back into the mine but it's not there either. Being new to the game I really don't know what the heck I'm doing or how to work the hat options. Darn.
