Get the best Carcano sniper rifle, Calloway's revolver, rolling block rifle while hunting with hosea, machate & Mauser pistol early #rdr2 #arthurmorgan
true, but bronte's throw you a regular one you can customize, even if you can't buy another one yet - Midnight's golden one you can't custom. as the others are cattle revolvers (he's missing flaco's revolver and granger, but those are easy to get as they're history bond available from chapter 2) and a schofield all linked to the same mission. nevertheless, great job he did.
@@Maddog-xc2zv cool. I missed Calloway's Schofield and didn't know the medic robbery repeats to get a 2nd. I also missed the early black Arabian from the St Denis mugging near-ish the butcher - but I think that's a unique event.
Time stamps 0:00 Rolling Block Rifle in Chapter 2 2:12 Bolt Action Rifle in Chapter 2 3:48 Machete in Chapter 2 4:42 Carcano Rifle in Chapter 4 6:23 Jim 'Boy' Calloway's revolver in Chapter 2 8:00 Mauser Pistol in Chapter 4 My favorite is the Bolt Action Rifle, but Calloway's revolver is also really cool to have early! 🤠👍
pitty we can't have otis revolver, it's beautiful. Maybe with the st denis "charriot", but I guess I never reached so far to west before the epilogue - even if I got some orchids inside the "forbidden" territory, but the bounty hunters are already a pain in Tall Trees. Cheers. The video is really great and there's a lot of people starting the game just now (first time playing) for various reasons. BTW in chapter 4 you can also get for free the 1899 semi auto using the same method of jumping bronte's masion wall by yourself, without any gang members. It's one of my favorite weapons, but being a western I stick more to revolvers - my favs are dual le matt or dual short barrel gold schofield (ofc, you can start using the schofield very soon, opposite to the le matt).
@@Maddog-xc2zvnever tried it but I know when you’re bringing reverend Swanson back to camp after he passes out in that mission in chapter 2, you can ride into blackwater and new Austin without being wanted or shot maybe you could get it like that
You can also get a Bolt Action from any of the hangings in Valentine in C2, do the bounties to trigger them or theres also one random one that happens anyway. The deputy on the platform at the hangings, the guy who pulls the lever, carries a Bolt Action which you can grab if you shoot him.
4 years on and there's still new stuff to find. This game is amazing and I got to do this when I can find my copy and I thought getting Micahs' pistol early was a good.
@@josephobuck5409 In the tutorial level where the big shoot out with the O'driscalls at the saw mill. From the start of the mission head to the right and you'll see a shack shoot the guy outside and then get close to get the other guy to come out. Disarm him and kite him back to the gang and toward Micah. He'll disarm micah and then you just pick up the revolver and finish the mission.
You get the Mauser pretty early through Bill Midnight, that being his personalised Mauser. Also, the Semi-Auto Shotgun from Watson's cabin basement. Also, the Pump-Action Shotgun from the inbred farm in the grizzlies. The apothecary heist in Valentine gives you the Schofield early. The rancho heist near Rhodes gives you the Double-Action early.
You can also get a double barrel shotgun early, you can find it in 3 places: -The cabin you go to in the Kieran mission -The house near the lake in Rhodes (where you collect the debt in chapter 3) -and the rare DB shotgun you can get from the hermit near annesburg
damn, only two weeks ago I learned you can get the carcano rifle in chapter 3 going in a mission with uncle at night robbing cattle. kill the robbers and then kill the house owner: he'll drop a carcano rifle you can pick. now this about the rolling block... I played the game 3 or 4 times by now and never knew about. this game is really something, even so long after its release. Thanks for the video. I would have make mention to how to get three more catttleman revolvers (2 story bond, flaco's and granger's, but available on chapter 2), the semiauto revolver (you can grab two from the same place) and the "regular" schofield (you also get two from the doctor back office in valentine), the lancaster in Rhodes, the semi auto shotgun, the rare double barrel shotgun, the rare rolling block. Again, kudos for a great video. will continue to follow you, a new sub.
@@realQuestiononly way is chapter 4 after mission the joys of civilization. Few npc carry this gun and I can’t remember of none before it. So the easiest path is buying at a gunsmith rather relying on an npc of a pristine one. It's only sold in Valentine and Saint Denis. Cheers.
384hrs into this game got platinum now I thought I knew everything their is to know clearly I was wrong, this would‘ve saved me a decent amount of money and it is more immersive
There's plenty more stuff like this at the start of Ch.2 (obviously you really need the stables unlocked first). The most important thing is getting the Missouri Fox Trotter from exploiting the 3rd photography stranger mission, if not, the black Arabian from the St. Denis unique mugging event (not repeated). There's some missable missions too. I don't think I've seen the monk. The vampire is good - I hogtied him for his knife and let him live so he returns each night - he punches hard. I've done 28 days (672h) and have only done 9 story missions - I've done as much as possible after unlocking stables - 46% so far, but you can do another 10% if you exploit the sniper-proof buggy and do New Austin stuff.
6:25 I missed this opportunity for the 2nd Schofield, but read you just had to shoot the saloon door to make Calloway flee outside. Just a shame those gunslinger pistols can't be upgraded, so they're worse than the bought versions after upgrades. There's also shotguns at Watson's Cabin and Catfish Jackson cabin, and the double action revolver at Lonnie's shack at night when a drunk gang's inside. The fishing rod can be taken from hogtied anglers early too.
Typically, I would agree with those who prefer to get each item normally throughout the game, for sake of the rp. BUT, in this instance I am grateful for that first demonstration. Thank you! It has always irked me that Hosea lets Arthur hold that rolling block rifle but does not let him have it, especially after saving his life from that bear! "Borrowing" it from that old hustler seems fitting!🤣
You can als get Micah's revolver and John's revolver in some ways. Micah's revolver can be obtained in the snowy mountains with your first o'driscoll fight or his revolver can be taken when he is in the strawberry jail. John's revolver can be taken in 3 ways. During the Kieran mission, with the train robbery setup when he stand near the tree in Overlook or during the Valentine shootout.
You can also get John's Cattleman Revolver (even 2) in the mission Paying a Social Call. Before speaking to Bill about which of you takes out the first O'Driscoll, instead get on your horse (or restart from checkpoint if it isn't there), circle the O'Driscoll camp without them spotting you, dismount near the cabin and run in from the west. Disarm without killing as many O'Driscolls as your health permits, then lead them into John. They'll disarm him, and you just need to pick up his revolver. Then if you want a second one, when he's standing next to a tree in camp, starting Pouring Forth the Oil I, shoot a dynamite arrow from the cliff edge through the detached wagon wheel beside Dutch's speech notes to kill him. Shooting through the wagon wheel is the only way to shoot anything in the direction of camp. Try blowing it up first, so that there are less spokes in it to block your shot. John dies and drops a second (or first) John's Cattleman Revolver. You can also get Micah's Revolver when he's in Strawberry jail. Antagonize anyone carrying a gun in Strawberry so that they start shooting at you. Then all 3 lawmen will run out of the sheriff's. The mission will grey out at this point. You mustn't get a wanted level yourself. If a lawman goes back in, silently kill him from inside the office (preferably with a throwing knife to the head). Then shoot a fire arrow from the stairs through the bars next to Micah's leg, lighting him on fire. When he burns up, if he doesn't drop the revolver then, just run up the northern path to the mountain until his corpse disappears off the map (but not far enough to reset the mission!). Return back, burn Micah again, and this time he should definitely drop his revolver. You might not be able to pick it up at first, but keep spamming L1 (or pc/xbox equivalent) and you'll eventually grab it. Can't get a second one, though.
you can get micah’s revolver using the method u used to get john’s gun. way earlier in chapter 1, during the 3rd mission (i think) when u were raiding the o’driscoll camp.
i have done it last week after following him to camp after the bear hunt. and i have the latest updates on the game but the rifle is indeed not obtainable.
@@josephobuck5409 also you can level up to max stats using the vault an object glitch. It just takes 1 valerian root, 1 aged pirate and 1 ginseng elixir.
Semi=auto Shotgun, Watsons Cabin, Chpt2, first thing I get after the snow. 'Splodey Arrows and Poison Arrows too. Mauser not my favorite, however, I keep one loaded with Splodey rounds in my Satchel. Has it's use.
@@goatlps same, I'm letting micah enjoy his jail stay this playthrough, I don't wanna go through the pain of the story again but I do want to appreciate the weapons in this game, getting as many as I can before they are unlocked.
I learned about the machete first playthrough, I was on that same mission and while looking at that guy that tried hitting Sean (I think was who we were trying to save) I saw the dude had a long knife and I was like "Is that a sword?!" So I shot the dude in the head and when I got up the mountain I sprinted all the way to the dead body to make sure the knife doesn't despawn. Turns out it was a machete.
For the machate I think you can just go to beaver hollow cave and clean it from skinners, I think one must have a machate but when I went to it, they all had revolvers
@@realQuestion I don't believe that glitch is working anymore, I think R* fixed it among some other presented here. Except burnin John (you can do it twice to dual wield his revolvers), it feels so good, just don't know why, maybe I'm a pshyco...
@@josephobuck5409 yep, this one was patched. lots of videos out there saying the same. google it before restart, but I'm pretty sure it was patched, I'm unable to do it, hosea's horse always gets the best of you now...
I have found a way to get Micahs Revolver early you can chapter 1 where you raid a Odrisscal camp if you disarm and enemy to where they have to use their fists. Note i have found it doesn't work if they have a knife but then have the odriscal follow you to Micah careful to make sure Bill doesn't shoot the guy your luring. And just lead the guy to Micah and if your lucky the enemy will disarm Micah allowing you to grab Micahs pistol. As a some what new RDR2 player if took me like 40+ tries but if your experienced Im sure you'll have an easier time.
Since I’ve nearly finished chapter 2 can I go back and replay the missions & retrieve the weapons? Would they stay with Arthur once you load back into ur original game ??
you can get calloway revolver in the sallon. don't start the mission and threaten the owner. He'll run away and you must follow him untill the mission icon reappers on the saloon, then return to the saloon. Only calloway's there. point a gun at him and he'll draw. kick him off and pick his revolver. come back latter and you can start the mission already with calloway's revolver as if nothing happened before. Cheers
You can grab the machete when you're rescuing sean. At some point charles is fighting a bounty hunter in the cliff you must shoot. just follow to that direction after and there will be a Machete on the ground
You can also get Lancaster early in Ch 2. You need to complete robbery tip missions. You will save a guy who is captured by bounty hunters on a horse and he will tell you to go to Rhodes gun story and rob the place. Do the mission and you will be able to find it in the weapon crate
@@riley2220 you don't need to kill him to rob him. there's also more loot besides the lancaster on the basement. The guy will remain crying there, you'll be able to rob his entire store, but I recommend you exit by the sideway door and not the font one to avoid "heat"
I don't know why but I threw the dynamite at Hosea's horse to get the Rolling Block Rifle but the horse didn't die. I kept throwing more dynamites to try again and it didn't work. So, I gave up.
İ knew all of it except the machete. Ftr: billy midnight has Mauser you can get it in chapter 2. When you get the Mauser and go to camp dutch and javier will take notice and tell you that they never saw that pistol anywhere and thats a new one.
You're right I'm a pro to this game I memorized every aspect of it & I actually didn't know that you can get those guns & rifles to early because I use to speedrun the game & become dependent on what the game has given me or if it didn't gave me anything I just buy it from the store.
@@ronnsnow2859 Lmao any game is meant to be taken at a slower pace than what you do in speedruns. But that doesn't mean that speedrunning is always bad. Every speedrunner plays through a game normally either way, before any speedruns are attempted.
@@NautyCat Then they aren't really all that good at the game if they didn't already know you could get these weapons early. I'm by know means a pro at the game but I knew about all this s**t like a month after release.
Wow😮 for the bolt action I didn’t know I could get it in that mission. I always waited for the random event with sheriff Malloy in Valentine to get it 😆 Thanks partner
For the clip I never knew you could do that and You know I just rushed through the machine just because my battery level of my controller is getting low plus I wanna get to my plus I want to get to my stallion. I have the first horse you get in the game and I'm not gonna betray him. Also he's the only horse that did well for me in that Valentine bank robbery mission when we have to beat the train.
@@josephobuck5409 no, it was the nick name of the weapon (the mauser c-96 and variants) in some countries due to the fact that the grip of the the pistol format reminded people the shape of broom handles. just that. 🤣🤣
after the cemetery misson when you visit Bronte's mansion ith Dutch an John? Yeah. You need to alert the police, lose it before rhodes and then just follow to new austin as no harm will come to you. That's a way to get Otis Schofield revolver
Can you obtain them from replaying missions? I replayed whatever mission was saving Sean, I got the machete and the pump-action rifle, I died and lost the machete. When I respawned back where I was before restarting the mission, I didn’t have the pimp-action rifle
You forgot about Micah's Double Action Revolver in Chapter 1 during the big O'Driscoll fight in the snow. Considering you're only supposed to get it as John it's pretty cool you can own it as Arthur too.
@@Postaldude2002 it still does work. your timing must be perfect though. so save the game before starting the mission. you'll eventually get a dropped Micah's DA revolver. Cheers.
@@Postaldude2002 it still does work. your timing must be perfect though. so save the game before starting the mission. you'll eventually get a dropped Micah's DA revolver when he'll engage in a fist fight. beware of not leading the O'driscolls to Bill or he'll just shoot them down merciless, lol. @@Postaldude2002 I just did it literally a month ago (and I found this channel) when I started still another "campaign" of RDR2. My platform is PC, can't tell you if different platforms behave distinctively as I never played in another then the one I mentioned I use. Cheers
@@nlp6689 it’s a funny trick basically on the mission where you go to attack the O’driscolls Dutch will ask you if you want to lead it or he wants to lead. Tell him to let the gang lead Then go and run towards the O’Driscolls that are furthest to the right as possible usually you’ll find 1 or 2 O’Driscolls there. They’re in a small shack, you’ll only need one. Attack one of them with your bare hands which will disarm the person, make sure you fully disarm them from both their repeater as well as a revolver and possible 2nd revolver they might have. When you have fully disarmed the O’Driscoll he will attack you with melee attacks. When that happens you wanna return to the gang the same path you came from as close as possible to Micah. The O’Driscoll will then melee attack Micah causing his revolver to drop. You can then pick it up and it will be saved to your weapons, it only works with Micah since he’s the only gangmember with a unique weapon in the game. Finish the mission as soon as possible because, Micah will continue to fight without his pistols and will use knives and rush the O’Driscolls down so there’s a chance he can get killed easier
@@nlp6689 yeah I recently started a fresh run for the third time and since I learnt about it never skipped doing it, since it’s a fast way to get a double action revolver (Micah’s revolver is basically a skinned double action) early and for free
I think that glitch and some others were put away in R* upgrades (including feeding horses at the horse fence so you could bond and whistle one back to you - I'm no longer able to do it cause the horses don't bond; same issue jumping to Hosea's horse).
@@andrewp8284 you don't even have to wait for the mission. you can go to chez porter and grab that pump action from the start of chapter 2, but I always do Hosea first cause I like to get the stables available asap. I also grab at the "same time" as the pump action the semi auto that you can find in a case, in a very rusty condition but it turns prime with oil, basement when robbing Watson's Cabin located northwest of Wallace Station. To notice that Varmint Rifle, Volcanic Pistol, and Pump Action Shotgun are free of charge in any gunsmith in some game versions and likely by these days to all of them (check it out, I have them from free from any gunsmith, those three weapons, the .22 "rabbit" rifle, the pump action shotgun, and finally the volcanic pistol, the most powerful handgun in the game until you get the schofield which are more or less at the same level, but has a faster rate of fire)
@@Player_7but, same, the method you present works fine. It’s not the only weapon you get sooner but can’t have twice, as the same goes to the semi auto in Watson cabine, the bolt action of which you can also man one, and others, Micah’s DA. You just can duel wield, or more precisely having two, of the regular Schofield you find at the doctor (two visits at different game timetable, like the second robbery one day after or so), the DA you can find in a cabin with 4 or 5 foes and returning there even before the said foes spawning), you’ll have to wait for the story to develop (a coach robbery with Micah, where the O’Driscolls try to rob you back already in the river bank) to have 2 leichesters, same with the regular second Mauser. All gunsingler’s pistol and revolvers are also unique and bond to the story (you can do it ch 9 but there’s only one midnight’s “broom handle”, one granger’s cattleman and one of Flaco). Also I could only get one 1899 from bronte’s men). Also another pristine cattlemen revolver can be find a bit north of Rhodes where a dumped lover killed the couple and shot herself out of the house), but this you can opt to dual wield even faster after unlocking the trappers missions and get an offhand holster via master hunter 1 or herbalist 1 completed and then just buying it from any gun store. I guess regular bigger guns you can have 2 regular it’s just the Lancaster repeater, as the double barrel shotgun and roling block you may have two, but one is regular and the other rare (can’t be customised as well as midnight’s Mauser you can also wield, with another reg Mauser or whatever handgun of your choice, in any gunsmith).
@@Maddog-xc2zv in the actual story, I never needed any weapon that bad. Or money for that matter. Online, I’ve never needed any weapons that bad either. The economy in the game made it uninteresting to me.
I wish I had seen this video few weeks ago :( now I'm too deep in chapter 2 to take advantage of it to get the rolling block and bolt action rifle hhh, guess I'll just progress with the game and get all the others xD
I’m still on one of the first missions in chapter 2, but I have ran all over and collected so many pelts and trees and side missions that I don’t want to start over but I might I really want Callaway pistol
@@josephobuck5409 Yeah I feel that, if only we could be Arthur after the game, I wouldn't care getting those late but I just can't stand John, his voice line in epilogues are just no match to Arthur's
@@JRM92B oh wow I thought you were Arthur after the game actually I thought the game was over so your John huh? Ok that’s kinda cool I never beat the game. @@josephobuck5409 Oh I'm sorry if I spoiled your game, I assumed that wasn't your first playthrough. But yeah RDR2 is a huge game and it's easy to get distracted from the main story and just exploring. It can take a lot of hours to truly achieve the 100% completion, I only did it once, I must've started like 3-4 games only to live back the early chapters which are more peaceful
no, not the mission. but he'll not be using his schofield, in my case he used a cattleman when drawing on Arthur. without mods you can't get 2 calloway revolvers nor any other special/unique revolver/pistol like granger's, micah's, flaco's, midnight... Cheers
I don’t know if those can be found in ch 2, except the Mauser is a semi-automatic pistol and you can get a custom one from the gunslinger Billy Midnight. You can get a semi-auto and pump shotgun in chapter 2 if you go up to the cabin with the old lady in it towards the north side of Big Valley (it’s in the basement), and do the home robbery at chez Porter with Javier (it’s up a ladder in the house).
I found a better weapon…but I was wasted on whiskey and morphine, riding a stolen donkey in my underwear…and I lost track of where I was at, at some point.
@@YodaClipsI agree are those dealing more damage per shot. But they’re slow firing and reloading. You can have that or a higher rate of fire and fast reloading, damn 1899 seem like you’re firing a machine gun. So at the end both do the same damage as end result, it just depends on your preferences of gameplay.
@@starvinghub I guess both opinions are valid. And the reason is they're just opinions and opinions anyone can have his own, it's not like we're talking about verifiable facts
it's not rare, rare is on another mission where you save Trewlany from bounty hunters. This is Hosea's Rolling block, but I believe this particular glitch has been patched
@Solar_rpg yeah, how do you think I got them (but the rolling block at the point he says)? not only by chance or exploring. Not only guns but horses too for free, and not only the white arabian even non rdr players must have heard off by now. But its great anyway because I've seen many people started playing the game this year, 2023! And I can take a joke, I'm not the kind of hate comments guy. Cheers.
@Solar_rpg some. the rolling block is powerful, but always scoped, the bolt action is only surpassed by the Springfield (and rolling block in sheer power). Calloway's revolver is the weaker of the schofields - true. You can use midnight gun as semi auto (less damage but more in firing speed and reloading), but can't be customized (barrel, sights, whatever...). He misses at chapter 2 the schofields you can get in valentine, the double action revolvers and for short range the semi auto shotgun. And also the pirate sword deals more damage than the machete, if I'm not wrong. He does not mention another regular cattleman revolver you can get from free from a romantic crime scene for free in ch 2, as it is the worst fire weapon in the game, even including Flaco's and Granger's mods of the cattleman. It's still a good video for many, and also his pov, which is not the same to say it is the only one good available or the best of them - or even not in video, yt is not the whole internet.
