brooo anyway, my last big acquisition was a vionentus vn100 wallet with an airtag slot, I'm surprised at how thin and elegant it looks, technology taken from star terk
I have AirTags in both my vehicles. Not only is it helpful if you need to find your car in packed lot, but if anyone were to ever steal the car getting its location quickly would be useful. We also recently moved from Oregon to Delaware and had one of are cars shipped. I was able to track its movements across the country so always knew precisely where it was in the journey. Finally, if you ever have need to locate a family member who for whatever reason is unable to communicate having an AirTag in the vehicle could be very helpful (all family members knew an AirTag was in the vehicle). AirTags are also good for temporary tracking. When we moved all our stuff was stored in two Pods. Put AirTags in both to again know where they were on their journey.
I absolutely love my AirTags, and I appreciated the ideas for uses that you showed. One of the best changes has been that Apple allows AirTag sharing. Since we have kids with stuff that we AirTag, it's great for both parents to be able to link to the tags. Also, my older kids have their own iPhones. I haven't found a wallet yet that I like, but I'm checking out these that you show. I definitely think I need one for my tv remote. As some others mention here, we put tags in our vehicles too, mainly in case of theft, but also to know where they are sometimes.
When I had plantar fasciitis, I got one of those canes that opens up into a seat (the Ta-Da cane, love it). Since I don't normally use a cane, I made sure I could fasten an air tag to it, using one of the available waterproof cases for the air tag. Instrument players who do gigs can also toss one into their cases/amps/etc. Paul McCartney could've used one, all those years ago!
I have 3 brain tumours. My life currently consists of looking for things and forgetting what I’m looking for. Currently setting up 20 air tags to help my addled brain 🧠
The one you didn’t mention that I’d do … I put an AirTag in my babies clothing. He’s the one thing I definitely don’t want to loose or have be taken. - Here’s the thing I don’t understand about the wallets and passport holders… why do they make the AirTag holder a prominent design element? If I were a thief the first thing I’d do is remove the AirTag and throw it away. Sooooooo … if you have recommendations for both which feature a hidden location I’d love to know. - Great video Stephen!
My thought as well on the prominent location of those air tags. Plus that air tag for the passport wallet could relatively easily fall out if the snap isn't fastened.
That’s a good point, I think it’s done to keep the rest of the wall / passport holder thin. But I’ll look for discreet AirTag accessories and maybe do a follow-up!
I think AirTags in wallets and passport holders is more for the forgetful owner than someone worried about theft. I've left home without my wallet before. Now I'm at work freaking out trying to retrace my steps. Instead, I can just open my phone, see the wallet is at home, call myself a dumbass and pay for lunch with my AppleWatch. 🙂 With passport holders, the "left behind" reminder can be invaluable when you leave the passport in a hotel safe and are on the way to the airport!
@@tropicalcycling you’ve clearly never had your wallet swiped before. - But yes I doubt anyone wants to steal my passport but they look close enough to wallets to warrant concern.
Great ideas here to track objects if you misplace them in your house or car but if you misplace your "stuff" outside of these areas and the airtags are visible won't they just be removed. You would then be tracking your airtag not your lost "stuff". If you are using airtags have them hidden so that someone that takes a liking to your "stuff" won't know they are being tracked (unless they are tracking their own airtags, then they will know your airtag is hidden as they are alerted by their tracking). Hide your airtags, don't get accessories that show them off.
I put mine in my go pro case and sometimes even attach it to my go pro (12) because the precision tracking is especially helpful when it gets lost during a shoot or another scenario
I tag my glasses to outwit my ADHD brain. I had a Nomad strap but it broke so, I have a basic holder that attaches to a basic strap on my glasses. I need the glasses for driving so searching the house for them got tedious after a while. I have one on my house key, car key/wallet and too 👍
My mother lately forgot things like her keys or her wallet. I've attached AirTags to the keys and the wallet. Also I know where she is anytime, in case anything happens.
I'm confused. Does an airtag make a noise? If my son puts an airtag on his keyring and then misplaces them in his bedroom, will the airtag make a noise so he can track them down?
I put them in the backs of my electric guitars amongst all the wiring. I also carry a spare one in my fanny pack that I can use for stuff while I’m out, such as if I’m with family and splitting up I can leave it with them to find them later (particularly good idea for peace of mind with kids). Leave in the car so you can find it in a large parking lot (or if someone steals it, but nobody would steal my car).
AirTag doesn’t have GPS built in. The location is tracked when it comes in proximity with other iOS devices. or you can use precision tracking within 40 feet.
@@beardfm yeah so I’m assuming he can’t be tracked at school? I drove around with it in my car and it never tracked on my daughter’s phone. Even though I have my cell phone with me
Use mutliple airtags to track my kids water bottles. Have lost too many in the past and these bottles are expensive! Use the nomad hydroflask airtag holder and have it covered with a boot on each bottle hidden from view ...
I've been using the tile tracker a couple years with my Android phone Samsung phone I have a tracker in my car and one day I came back from the airport and I'm going to find my car but it connected to my tile tracker and I was able to find it they showed how close I was to it with the rings
My problem is I don’t think it has live tracking. For example if I have an AirTag in my car and someone steals my car. Will I be able to track the AirTag while there driving away with it ? Or will it just tell me it’s last known location
If they have an iPhone or other Apple device, it will continually update the location. And if it passes nearby *anyone* with an Apple device, it will update its location automatically.
@@beardfm besides you or anyone you share your AirTag location with can a thief or anyone else ping your AirTag to find out if there is one in your car or anywhere else?
The Find My on my AirPods Pro 2 is so broken. I will have them in my ears and the case in my pocket, and I will get a notification that they were left behind. When I misplace them, the feature doesn’t work. Worthless. 🤦♂️ Air tags at all good though! They saved me so much stress just by slipping one into my wife’s wallet.
I Airtaged my boxes when I was shipping it across the world. I knew exactly where they were. Even though the postal services claimed it had been shipped, it was still lying at the airport for another week.
Have you tried asking Siri? That’s something the assistant is actually pretty good at. If not, where are you seeing the numbers to convert? In a text, email, websites, etc?
@@beardfm I need pounds to kgs while cooking and I usually ask Alexa but sometimes I don’t want verbal announcements. I need feet to cm as a medical assistant and again I cannot announce it in front of patients. So I was wondering if there was shortcut where I just type the number and it converts automatically.
I’ve come to accept the airtags in my life. It’s very useful. However, I can’t use my custom emoji’s in the findmy app. The emoji’s I can create from photo’s. I’d like to take a picture of the thing I would like to track, make an emoji from it and have the corresponding airtag use it on the map.
Am I the only one that never forgets where I put stuff, leave things behind or get anything stolen? It seems a bit extreme to track your remote in your house..?
Well, unfortunately some of the anti-stalking updates mean if they have an iPhone, they'll get that notification that an AirTag is following them no matter what. They won't be able to have it make a sound though, so if it's well hidden they may not find it.
@@kyliesmith2734 yes! When there is no iPhone around. 😂 I heard Apple is developing a cellular AirTag, but you have to add them to your cellular plan. 💵
I was wondering about using airtag on a dog, i know once it gets out of Bluetooth range it starts making a noise . I wonder if that will affect the dog
I used mine when I flew to Thailand. It said it was in Baghdad 😂 I thought ah well, my bag is on the wrong plane. Imagine my relief when it turned up on the carousel.
