I havent used the abandoned houses for shelter, but I will set up a nearby workbench and tear it down, its usually a good bit of free wood and then you can relclaim your workbenc
Another great tip: Trolls are your friends early on. You can use them to break down birch trees that you normally can't cut without bronze, allowing you to make a fine wood bow early on. Bit of an advanced technique but super easy for a new player to implement (just taught this to a new player so I know how easy it is to pick up). The troll attacks are super telegraphed and almost criminally lethargic, making baiting and dodging child's play. And after you craft the bow you can then kill the troll instead of running away and farm its leather for better armor. All before killing the first boss.
Oh you can cut them down without bronze, its just tedious. Basically you cut down a nearby normal tree and let it fall on the birch, or kick it as long against the birch until it falls, continue to crash trees against the fallen birch until you get the logs. Did it on accident on my first playthrough 🙂
I had no idea it launched on xbox. Thats rad. Ironically I started playing again this last week. Started a new character to re learn real quick. It still has a ton of untapped potential. They really need to maybe set up a side quest/daily quest vendor in game. Need more progression but iv loved this game from the start.
Greydwarf spawners easiest farm is to pickaxe around and under it, let them fall into the pit as they spawn. You can them clean them up by yourself or throw a few spikes so they die by themselves. Make sure to build a workbench nearby so the loot doesnt despawn. (Unless they already updated this feature, ive been doing it since i can remember)
I didn't have much issues with leather armor, a flint knife, wooden shield, and a crude bow beginning in the black forest. But I went on to the swamp with level 3 troll hide a bronze buckler and copper knife with a fine bow and was doing ok until 2 1star archer draugers spawned from a body pile in a crypt. Went to dodge back and turn and serpentine down the corridor but rolled in to the wall and got shot the other missed but i was almost dead. Got off the wall and just in the arch and got shot in the back. Even with my upgraded bronze buckler, i definitely still would've died trying to block it. But had already mined some iron, so when i came back with my spare set of troll armor, gathered my stuff from behind the bit of muddy scrap pile and took the ef off with corpse run and eikthyrs power, literally used zero of my 50 stamina running out of the swamp and back to my swampbase in a nearby meadow. Made an iron helmet and an iron buckler and went back in, destroyed the spawner and took one with me, but died. Came back, and just rushed in to grab my stuff and even with corpse run as i was dashing out the hall he shot me in the back again and i died and had to come back AGAIN lol no problem though cause my stuff was in the hall now and i could sneak up and get it and got geared up and just rushed him and took him out and found the tablet to bonemass, which was on a small swamp island that was almost completely baron aside from the bonemass alter. Crafted some iron armor and went through a few more crypts, and eventually decided to take on bonemass. That was a hassle with a bow lemme tell you. I should've brought more than just flint arrows for sure lol i didn't die, but it just took forever i ran out of poison resistance and stamina meads right before killing him. I haven't been back to the swamp since, but been roaming the 3 small mountains near my base and found 4 eggs, 2 frost caves between 2 of them and the 3rd mountain was completely bare aside from a stone giant next to a cabin and some obsidian. Made a load of obsidian arrows and have killed a lot of wolves, found only 2 silver veins but made a knife and shield, need more silver so i can make wolf armor and the drake helmet. But the 2 frost caves bore no fruit on moders location, and i have yet to see a mountain accessible from sea without having to go through plains. Which i don't think I'm ready for even a short run through there yet.
Bone mass is heavily vulnerable to Blunt damage just give him a nice massage with a l4 bronce maze ans the fucker is gone in no time and his melee attacks are like super easy to dosge just dont stand in his puke
Good video. My tip....TORCH!.....Don't leave home without it... In the early game, most of the mobs are afraid of FIRE. Having a Torch and one-handed weapon or just the Torch will save a lot of deaths.
I love these videos. A constant reminder of what not to do and how to fix the mistakes. I would like to know more on how to get a greater yield from mining copper. I seem to be doing a lot of work with very little results. Do you have any good tips for this?

Worst mistake I made was watching a video that showed me how to use dev commands on Xbox and has now completely ruined the game for me my fault for doing it but yeah if you see a video for that and you like the game don't click on it
I bring 2 to each new zone, set up one near my ship with a workbench and carry one with me to plop down near a dungeon or ore node, both linked to my base. All non-metals can be sent back to base easily, metals I set aside in a chest until I'm done with the dungeon or ore node then run them down to my ship using the two portals to get back quickly. Once I'm done farming a zone I'll leave a portal near the boss altar because my ship will be back at base by that point. I never had a problem with my ship disappearing except near my base. I also have portals at the trader and at spawn where I have a small base for storing junk. In my base I only need two but I keep two portals fixed for exploring so I don't have to worry about forgetting to rename them before setting out and I have one more portal for everything else. That's 7 portals in total + 1 for each boss (except Eikthyr).
Mostly this misteak is realy great, bad, y have one think: Have you one player see, when have rage tunic +2 or club +4??:D Y not and y have plenty time videos see. Problem with this is symle: Not so mutch time, or people will speedrun get. One think well: +1 armor give you absolut nothing and for this you kill 5/6 boar? And the map is so , not are all people have gluck for this structers. Y have problems with turnip: First seed i have in 4 samps and the onion y have not yet. And y have multiple time for 5 Mountain sutch.And food: as a first biom have people only 2 think: mushroom or honey. Mostly food is for life: Neck boar meet, deer meat. styl great job, thanx.
honestly, a maxed out club isn't *that* bad against skeletons and blobs, aka, the only things you should be using it on. It's useful even in the swamps for *that* Upgrading rags, though? That's such a waste of resources they won't even let you get them past lv 2.
