Barry Sanders - I have never seen a more balanced runner. I've never seen any player in any football code who could change direction like he did, without losing any pace. A total freak of nature. He carried a team that really didn't have any other stars, so he was an obvious target, but rose above being double and triple teamed almost every game. His stats are stratospheric. And he had a loyalty and humility that was as legendary as his playing ability.
@Chig232

I'm glad this is the first comment I saw when I was about to bring him up. I'm always surprised he's not on list like this. He still holds records like Most Yards after being first touch and Most Yards after being hit Behind the line of scrimmage. Those two stats alone give you some idea what he would have done with an offensive line like what Emmitt Smith had. For me Hands down the Best Running Back Ever!!! Oh and I'm a HUGE Dallas Cowboy fan but I call them like I see em....

Deon told the story once that the hardest hit he ever took was from Bo Jackson. Deon's freshman season at FSU was Bo's last year at Auburn. Auburn and FSU used to play each other regularly in the regular season back then. Bo took a toss sweep around the corner and Deon tried to make the tackle and got truck sticked into the ground.
