I’ll say this about Herschel, coming from a Clemson fan: In 1981, we had one of the best defenses in college football history. This unit surrendered just 10 points per game and forced 41 turnovers in just 12 games. The back seven alone had two college football hall of famers (Jeff Davis and Terry Kinard), and the defensive line featured The Fridge. Even though the offense was mediocre at best, we still won the national championship that year. With all that being said... Herschel Walker rushed for 111 yards against them on 28 carries. Despite that, and despite facing the exact defense I just described above, his performance that day is still considered one of the worst games of his college career. That’s how good he was.

Met him a few times when my dad and I had eagles tickets in the 90's...COULD NOT have been a nicer guy...totally in awe

Met him when I was a kid at Vikings training camp in Mankato Minnesota. We stayed until after practice to meet him. Saw Cris Carter, Steve Jordan, Rick Fenney, Gary Zimmerman, Rich Gannon, Carl Lee, Tim Irwin, Anthony Carter, Hassan Jones, Fuad Reveiz, and a bunch more. Herschel was very nice. Signed autographs and took pictures. It was a great day.

I believe that he also was state champ in wrestling. I was glad when my dad took me to watch Herschel in a high school football playoffs. It seemed at times he was moving the pile 20 to 30 yards with the opposing team on his back. Incredible athlete and a class act on and off the field. Few live up to the hype as well as he.

Herschel and Bo Jackson may be the two greatest athletes to play in the NFL.

My father graduated from UGA in the 1960's (as did I in the 1990's). He was a HUGE college football fan and I was eight-years-old in 1980 so I grew up watching Herschel play in his glory days. He was - and is - a god in the state of Georgia. As a nine-year-old, I attended picture day at UGA and clawed my way through a gigantic mass of fans and media to get Herschel's autograph. It's still one of my proudest memories of childhood.

Props to the G.O.A.T. I'm 52 and do 300 pushups a day, could barely do 10 about 5 years ago. Lost 60 pounds in a 3 year time span, between 2010-2013. Ran my 3rd fastest half marathon in February 2020 (my last). Going to focus on the Herschel Walker pushup brigade. I'm going to try pullups since I couldn't do any when I was a kid. This story is inspiring, and I didn't know he was still relevant until last week. Never too late.

Watching this after a workout, as a teenager who plays three sports I felt dead after 50 push-ups yet this man can do 1500 in his 50’s. Wow.

I watched Herschel at Georgia and then in the USFL & NFL. He was a beast! His push up and sit up routine was followed by many in the 1980’s.

I’m a big Florida Gator fan, but have ALWAYS been a Herschel Walker fan. I’m NOT a Georgia fan, but when there is an athlete of Walker’s caliber, you can’t help but admire him as he runs all over Florida’s defense. VERY FEW can do what this man has done as an athlete. Love the fact that he uses a conjugate style of training. Hammering variations of different exercises. If you're a youth sport player reading this, that is the key to strength and longevity.

I remember watching him play in the NFL it was unbelievable. the guy was an animal. Everybody was scared to tackle him because he would run right through them and hurt them. And on top of that he was lightning fast when he got in the open field.

I heard a story about Herschel Walker, he said that he had never lifted a weight in his life. Someone asked him how the hell he got that big, and he said "A deck of cards." An Ace was 14 pushups, a King was 13, A Queen was 12, and you get the picture.

Met him about 10 years ago. I vividly remember his traps and neck and how calm he was on top of being young looking. Super fit and the nicest, most humble guy you'd ever meet.

That's awesome. I use to do the same thing in high school. Not to the extreme but I would spend every commercial break working out. Love this.

by doing more and more push-ups everyday, I ended up doing 700 push-ups in one day pretty quickly, I stopped, but If you just do more pushups than the last day, it adds quickly. You do 60 reps 3-4 times with rest times and then go again later, its achievable. Started by doing only 50 too.

Mr Walker played as a senior at Wrightsville when I was a junior at Hawkinsville. He was sooo fast, strong, and smart I just got out of the way. He was also an Olympic trials runner. At THE UGA he was at the top of his class until he won the Heisman and went to make millions as a 20 year old! Go Hershel Go!

He deserves to be in the pro football hall of fame. I think that the NFL is mad that he went to the USFL first but it’s the pro football hall of fame not the NFL hall of fame.

He's a legend who put in the hard work and became this incredible athletic phenom. He's still in great shape today.

I have a Walker mini die cut card from when he played with the Eagles, definitely one of my most personal prized possessions. Also, a cousin of mine worked as an electrician in Athens contracted through UGA and the university invited all the contractors working that week to a meet/greet with Herschel and sure enough, my cousin was able to meet and speak with him for about 30 seconds after taking a picture with him. This had been the better of 10 years or so ago and he said Herschel looked like an absolute monster of a man in person as if he was chiseled out of stone. Definitely a once in a lifetime type of athlete that we may never see again.

Herschel & Bo share a lot in common,both grew up poor,both had speech impediments,both experienced bullying,both of them decided they’d had enough of it and became focused on fucking people up,both used their insane focus-genetics-work ethnic and talent to eventually become legendary!

I went to a high school football camp at Clemson at the same time Hershel did. He had such a great physique that I thought he was a college All American. He was bigger than me, and I was a AAA lineman while he was a single A running back!

In all fairness I believe Walker shared carries with Tony Dorsett his first two years in Dallas, and by his third year Dorsett went to Denver and Walker became the focus of the offense and had a great season.

Patients with DID have been known to complete multiple workouts a day. They never seem to tire we believe this is because when a new personality assumes the mantle a cns reset seems to occur. Really interesting stuff.

This video and Herschel Walker changed my life. After watching this and learning about Herschel Walker and how he changed his life style over 1 summer it motivated me to change. I ended up losing 60 pounds and got into good shape. I just related to his story and made see something.
