I agree with you. The following year the Redskins didn’t protect him properly. If you want to know how. The Redskins didn’t get him a new tackle & they wanted to make him a protect quarterback
You have to include Matt Flynn on this list. He carved up the lions for I think 400+ yards, got a massive contract from Seattle and did nothing the rest of his career
There was this one New York Giants player named Steve Smith who was drafted to the NFL in 2007, (Not related to Carolina Panthers legend and former 5x pro bowl wide receiver by the same name.) Anyways Smith had a pretty lackluster NFL career, but in 2009, He had a pretty above average season if I do say so myself. He recorded 107 catches for 1220 and earned pro bowl nods for the first and last time in his NFL career. But after '09, Steve smith never recorded a season where he finished above 600 yards receiving, and aside from his 1200-yard season in 2009, His second highest receiving-yardage recorded in a single season sits at just 574 yards. Truly a one-year wonder.
I love how there was a time the NFL featured two Steve Smith’s and two Adrian Peterson’s. One of each of them is a HOFer, while the others careers were lackluster.
I think Malcolm Smith linebacker off the Seahawks could probably be on this list. He got the SB MVP in 2014 SB went out as a free agent got a pretty good payday but never really amounted to much other then that superb performance in Superbowl XLVIII
Washington has just been an awful organization for way too long. Haven’t been to the NFC championship since 1991. Both RG3 and Kirk Cousins were bogged down there badly.
His injuries were managed fine. And from what I've read they let him go out there and play to his strengths. Absolutely nothing about his career says he could of been good let alone a goat lmao. You smoking that good bud. I need that connect.
I hate how RG3 became a one hit wonder. Dude was brilliant on the field as a rookie and if he stayed healthy I would bet he would be causing havoc on teams and leading Washington to multiple playoff runs. Instead he got ruined by terrible management...
RG3 was definitely the most star-studded rookie quarterback in 2012 with all his scrimmage yards of passing and rushing thanks to the Redskins trading up to immediately snag that would-be top quarterback prospect out of Baylor in the draft!
Ugh “Rex is our Quarterback” was one of the most annoying statements that Lovie Smith uttered over and over when there was a QB controversy of who would start Grossman or Orton. Sadly drafting Grossman in the 1st round in 2003 is why the Bears thought they were “good” at QB in 2005 and didn’t draft Rodgers when he slipped to them at #4 yet still felt the need to draft Orton in the 4th round for some competition 🤦♂️
@@uhhhmaeve the Colts were actually my 2nd team that year after I started following them in 2003. It was rough for me bc the Bears were the only team I didn’t want to see them play in the SB. Ironically the X-factor for both teams who each ran the Tampa-2 defense was Safety. Mike Brown was lost for the season in Week 6 and Bob Sanders was not only healthy but made 2 big plays in the game that iced it.
Carson Wentz goes nuts in 2017 near MVP blows his knee and never good again. Bro took us to crazy heights and then fizzled. I was convinced we got us the next Aaron Rodgers lol 😅😅😅
At least the Eagles have Jalen Hurts now, at the very worst he’ll be as good as Donovan McNabb (which he was really good in his own right, coming from a Patriots fan) but at best he could be in terms of talent level Aaron Rodgers, minus the antics of course.
Couple of tidbits of info for you! #1) Timmy Smith, is from the same itty bitty town that I lived in out in southeastern New Mexico!!! The town of Hobbs, N.M. 2) The Cowboy’s Larry Brown, shares the same exact name as the former Preacher of the Church where I attend!!! RIP Rev! You are sorely missed!!!
As an Eagles fan this video was painful to watch All those random guys who helped division enemy teams win Super Bowls oh and a reminder of that first SB Tampa won, which was the hardest of all Super Bowls for Eagles fans to watch
Robert Griffin the third was only a one hit wonder because of how the injury was managed. Had it been managed differently wait he would still have a long profitable career
I wonder what a list would look like if you did a list of the biggest what if players. The idea is to list players that came out of college looking like a superstar, but a career ending injury put an end to that idea.
Laurent Robinson 2011 Dude had a breakout year with Dallas with 54 rec for 858 yard and a team leading 11 TD Signed with Jacksonville the next year with a 5 year deal but only played one
Every time I see Larry Brown in one of these videos I just shake my head. If Neil O'Donnell wasn't paid off by his homeboys in NJ then sun ain't coming up tomorrow. I hate him to this day for that.
Poor RGIII the Redskins really did kill his career by letting him play with a brace and a hurt knee rather then let him recover. Redskins definitely will always remember that one
@@mikeedwards9984Exactly, he fits so well in Seattle’s system and he looks like he has his confidence back now having a coach that also truly backs him up and being with an organization that takes the load off of him.
Ehhh.. idk about this video.. it’s a difference between a one hit wonder and a one play/one game wonder.. the list should be for people who had 1 great season only…
