10 books i want to read this spring 🌷 

If you haven't read Six of Crows, cannot recommend enough. Heist/adventure vibes. I absolutely devoured it in less than two days. One of my all-time faves

Dark matter by Blake crouch reads like a movie and is a fun sci fi mystery thriller that’s easy to follow. I’m listening on audible and the narration is phenomenal

Seven deaths of Evelyn hardcastle was a seriously gripping combination of adventure and mystery for me, definitely couldn’t put it down!

This is how you lose the time war is incredible. Don’t get discouraged if you are confused in the beginning, the end has the most payoff I’ve ever seen in a book. Made me sob.

The Poppy War Trilogy for sure. Also, The Green Bone Saga by Fonda Lee. Both absolutely epic series that are impossible to put down with characters whose lives you get so wrapped up in.

warbreaker by brandy sandy 😭 so adventurous, heart warming, and un-put-downable. I’ve never claimed to be a fantasy girly, but this was a buddy read and i’m in LOVE. it’s a big boy, but super accessible and fun.

I definitely suggest The Broken Earth trilogy by N.K. Jemisin! I was absolutely enthralled by the series, not to mention her writing is great and for a fantasy series it’s also great for “literature people” because there’s a ton to unpack and great themes. But you can also just get lost in the world and enjoy the books at the same time. She also won the Hugo Award for each of the three books in the trilogy (which I believe has never been done before).

I am the messenger by Marcus Zuzak is my favorite book of all time! It could be considered about an adventure with tasks the main character has to achieve! The premise of the book is literally about caring about people it's so good.

The one from Mariana Enríquez is THE BOOK. Hope you enjoy it. She is one of my favorite Argentine writers. ❤‍🔥

The poppy war series is a new absolute favorite of mine. The first book is so gripping because omg the pacing is the best!

Book that I couldn’t put down recently was Once There Were Wolves by Charlotte McConaghy. It was so beautiful and the familial relationships explored were so well done. It was definitely an adventure!

I recently read The Cartographers by Peng Shepherd and this book was unputdownable! It involves maps, a little bit of a fantasy element, adventure, family (real family and found family), museums, and the cover is stunning! Enjoy your spring reads!! 💜

I am obsessed with The Expanse series by James S A Corey!! The storyline is so gripping and fast paced I blew through the first one and am having the same experience with the second! I wouldnt normally think of myself as hugely into scifi but this one is truly fantastic

Someday Maybe was such an emotional and well-written book. As someone who was going through immense grief at the time, this book was very comforting.

Ooo okay for adventure book- That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon is currently my everything. 😊

The adventures of Amina ElSirafi by S.A. Chakraborty. The book came out last month, and it's sooo good I literally finished it in a day, and the audiobook is so good and immersive, so I recommend you read it while listening to the audiobook, best experience ever.

I started reading Luster because of your video and OMG IT IS SO GOOD!! I’m just over halfway through and the writing is insane. So, so good!!! Thank you for recommending! I’ve never heard of it otherwise.

Having a truly bummer morning (state of the US + sick family) and seeing you had a new video really brightened my day! Thanks a million! Maybe not the greatest adventure recommendation because I wouldn't exactly call it a page turner but you might try Killing Commendatore by Haruki Murakami. I don't know if I've seen you read much Murakami and this one is my favorite. My other recommendations would be to try out mysteries. I really enjoy all of Anthony Horowitz's books and they are all pretty light. I like the Magpie Murders the best. For more psychological mystery, In the Woods by Tana French is gripping and haunting, as is almost all of her Dublin detectives series. The Likeness and Broken Harbor were also very haunting. I also just finished Tomorrow, Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, which was very gripping but I will admit that I hated it due to a plot twist that happens 3/4s in but hey it was very readable and fast, even for a slow reader like me. Thanks again for being a bright spot in my crummy day!

omg Noelle I know it's a long book but THE WAY OF KINGS!!! adventure + intrigue + betrayal + complex characters that you'll love and care about. It's soooo worth it you should give it a try!!

The Midnight Library by Matt Haig! It’s heavy, but it’s great. Post suicide, a girl is given the chance to live all of the lives she ever could have. So so so good, had me cheering her on and crying for her.

My adventurous recommendation would be Eat Pray Love if you’ve never read it. It’s such a fantastic book about societal expectations of women and I know you enjoy messy relationships/marriage in trouble and this has several relationships involved with self discovery and a lot of adventure. I always recommend this backlist title and it reads almost like fiction though it’s a memoir

Heartless by Marissa Meyer!! It’s a story about how the Queen of Hearts became evil. I read it in highschool and I am still thinking about the ending 5 years later 😊

I read 'Luster' and 'Cleopatra and Frankenstein' and both are wonderful pieces of literature. The latter made me write down quotes because they were mind-blowing in its true sense.

I loved Ariadne! It’s a Greek mythology retelling of Theseus & the Minotaur but from Ariadne’s perspective (the Minotaur’s sister who helped Theseus escape the labyrinth!) it’s full of adventure with amazing settings, making it a fun way to learn Greek mythology. Highly recommended!

NightCrawling was amazing. Also she was so young when she wrote this book, the author. She was 17 I believe when she started it.

I’ve seen some others say Six of Crows and that’s immediately what I thought of when you said adventure!!! It’s technically YA (fantasy) but I think people of many ages would enjoy it. The world feels so extremely vivid, I genuinely could not put it down

when i was in middle school my absolute favorite book was the tail of emily windsnap. it’s about a girl who discovers that she’s a mermaid and follows her struggling with keeping her secret as a member of the school swim team and simultaneously exploring life under the sea !! if you ever had an inkling to read ya i absolutely recommend :))

Fairy Tale by Stephen King was truly an adventure epic! Love love loved it! (the audiobook of it is amazing btw)

our share of night is easily my favorite book of the year and simply one of my favorite books of all time! the audiobooks is PHENOMENAL

As you said any genre, I hope you won't mind me suggesting some Middle Grade, it's always helped me out of slumps as they are quick, fun and adventurous reads! The Train to Impossible Places by P.G. Bell is super cute, about a girl named Suzy who is very smart, but her logical brain can't seem to figure out how a set of train tracks appeared in her front room, she jumps onto the train to find out and that starts off a whole adventure! Also, Nevermoor: The Trials of Morrigan Crow by Jessica Townsend, about Morrigan who thinks she's horribly unlucky until a man named Jupiter North shows up on her eleventh birthday and saves her life by taking her to a completely different world called Nevermoor! I really enjoyed both of these books and I hope they help! :)

I’m reading Lord of the Rings after loving the movies for so long. Definitely an adventure. And I know you’ll probably hate to read this but I recently got sucked into ACOTAR. And holy hell. All of my pretentiousness just exited my body. The series had me in shambles. I stayed up until 4am to read one of the books. I felt like I did when I read twilight as a teenager. I’d also like to mention… I don’t do fantasy or series. Lol. For what it’s worth I usually stick to historical fiction and autobiographies. So my life has been upended. 😂

My rec is Nettle & Bone by T Kingfisher! It's short, they're saving the MC's sister and the kingdom, and the humor is dark. Also, there's a cute found family. What's not to love?

So glad you’re back!! As for recommendations, it’s not necessarily an adventure book, but I feel like you would really enjoy “Maame” by Jessica George! It’s about a young writer trying to navigate newfound independence and coming-of-age amongst a family tragedy - I couldn’t put it down. You might also like “Little Rabbit” by Alyssa Songsiridej, which feels very in-tune with some of the themes in “Cleopatra and Frankenstein” (and which I also devoured)💐❤ P.S.: “Nightcrawling” and “Luster” are incredible!

Adventure book recommendation: Recursion by Blake Crouch (and also Dark Matter if you enjoy Recursion). It was SO addicting and I was totally gripped. I didn’t necessarily love the male characters by the story is so compelling.

A COURT OF THORNS AND ROSES - believe me the hype is warranted. It’s sexy, romantic, and a total adventurous story. Just give it a try. Also- the first book takes place in a spring court so it’s very seasonally appropriate.

Our share of night is totally worth the time 👌🏽 such an amazing story, it completely blew my mind and couldn't put it down 😍 fun fact: the novel was finished at 666 pages (at least in Spanish since the author is Argentinian) but since she believes in the simbolism of the number she kept writing until she reached page 667 😂

For high-action fun - Blake Crouch is my go-to as his work is always super fast-paced. I liked Recursion best but Upgrade (his latest release) was also great. He's known for the sci-fi genre but I feel like he's very approachable and there are elements of romance and philosophy within his work too. It definitely has similar vibes of adventure and intrigue that I would compare to Project Hail Mary.

So happy every time I see another video of yours show up on my screen ❤ I am going to go back to an older book and reread Peter Hoeg´s "Smilla´s Sense of Snow". I read it over a decade ago and loved the main character (she´s Inuit) and remember it being a gripping read.

I don't know if you've already read it but The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch had me on the edge of my seat the whole time I was reading it! The vibe is basically Pirates of the Caribbean meets Ocean's Eleven, with heists and adventure and a super thrilling plot. And the first book works as a standalone. Love your videos! 😊

I feel like you might like Hyperion! It's a sci fi story about 7 individuals who are on a pilgrimage to a dangerous planet, and each chapter is a different character's backstory as to why they're on this voyage, kind of like short story vibes. It's SO GOOD

i just finished cleopatra and frankenstein and it is very different from conversations with friends. there is so much going on, and it just spirals and spirals. so good

Cleopatra & Frankenstein was a very good read. I have a feeling you'll love it. Sometimes it feels like its trying too much but its written very beautifully and you can forgive those few times and sweep them under the carpet

If you like cozy mysteries I HIGHLY recommend the Veronica speedwell series by Deanna Reybourn! It’s one of my favorite series! Every book is a different mystery and adventure. The physical books are amazing but the audio books are chefs kiss❤️

I love the throne of glass series which sort of turns into an adventure book. A real life adventure would be wild by cheryl strayed!

OH MY GOD YESSSS CURSED BUNNY ONE OF MY FAVORITESSS. I love this book soo much made my friends read it too and they loved it as well. Definitely a 10/10.

I recommend The Road! It’s an easy read but the adventure these two main characters face…it’s fascinating and heart wrenching

i recently read the girl who fell beneath the sea by axie oh, and i'm not usually a fantasy kinda person but i thought the vibes were just so beautiful !! it's YA so super easy to read and i ended up reading it in a day, and there's elements of korean mythology which was really interesting to read

I highly recommend Paris Hilton’s memoir! I know you love memoirs and I was surprised by how well written it was and how greatly narrated the audiobook is. I’m positive you’ll enjoy it! ❤

My favorite mystery series is the Amelia Peabody Mysteries. It has rich family dynamics, the historical context and egyptological references are very approachable, so you don’t need to have any prior knowledge to enjoy it. The first book is called “Crocodile on the Sandbank” and it’s a delight. I listen to the whole series through at least once a year, but make sure if you get the audiobook that it’s the versions narrated by Barbara Rosenblat, her voice makes the story live for me.

I totally agree with the Starless Sea as a recommendation! One of my all time favorite books!! I also have to recommend the An Ember in the Ashes series by Sabaa Tahir. I absolutely love all the adventure and moral dilemmas.😊 Edit: I also love This Is How You Lose The Time War❤

Look Closer is an incredible thriller that kept me hooked from page 1! It looks chunky but it's a fast read and short chapters (praise be). Such a fun one! ❤

If you haven’t already, I’d highly recommend She Who Became the Sun, it has Mulan vibes but a lot darker and more nuanced. On the other hand, there’s also the Mirror Visitor series, it’s a french series with a Howl’s Moving Castle type of fantasy and I LOVED it (plus the covers are gorgeous!)

More Than This by Patrick Ness is one of the most unputdownable books i've ever read!! It kept me guessing at the end of every chapter!! It's nearly 500 pages and i read it in basically one might because i HAD to know what was going on. Love the video 💗
