Had mine almost a decade, no accidents in the house. He’d wake me up in the middle of the night when he was sick. I pray my next one is as great as the last.
A young adult male taken 2 days ago from neglect, severely malnourished with urine stains etc. 1 1/2 yr old and no vet history, intact, sweet and craving attention. Breaks my heart; the other 6 variety dogbuddies at home are ok and getting better with him. Neutering will help. Just subscribed for breed-specific assist. Thanks!
We have a 4 month old Boston who is amazing with his crate. He sleeps all night in there. Never has any toilet accidents. Doesn’t cry at all. Sometimes puts himself to bed. Usually does 7-8 hours solid sleep at night. At what age do we ditch the crate and let him sleep in his bed next to our bed? He doesn’t chew furniture….. just chews toys and occasionally fingers from teething. Even the finger nibbling is calming down. Appreciate any input. Love the channel 👍
love your video! Can't agree more on all the tips you've shared. My best advice for training Bostons are to, like you said, exercise your BT before training to get out all that excited pent up energy. Reinforce positive behavior with treats or positive tone and words. Our Dazey is 2.5yrs and has picked up on many tricks and positive behaviors but one thing we are having issues with even today is that we cannot get her to stop jumping. She loves people and wants to get every one's attention.
I think my Boston thinks something like... “ You poor thing. You can’t make it around the neighborhood without me. Come on! Let’s go! “ I think that’s part of why she pulls @ the leash. A work in progress. She’s the greatest though.
I purchased a pup play pen getting ready for my baby girl should I had gotten a crate instead? I thought it was all right to get a playpen I thought it was big enough she would be in there for 6 hours when I go back to school. She'll be 8 weeks when I go get her. This is my 1st BT I you're very informative learning a lot
Thank you for all your information! We lost our dog, Mabel, a little over a year ago. She was 16 and the best dog ever! She was 1/2 Boston, 1/4 pug and 1/4 beagle. She looked like a brindle Boston. We are thinking about getting a Boston in the future ( not ready yet! 😞) your videos are wonderful! We live in Chelsea MI. How do we find a good breeder? I agree that positive reinforcement is the best approach. The one area I struggle with this is the puppy biting. He gets so hyper at times. I am really looking forward to next week when he turns 3 months and can be safely walked in the neighborhood and burn off some of his excess energy!😀
Potty trained My Boston in 3 weeks. He goes to the door when he needs to go. He still can't make it through the night to pee is all. But his schedule is getting to be regular
Communication, body language. Dogs are not always positive with one another. Watch your dog's cues and let them know when they are making a mistake. Soft conditioning. Stay cool and collective.
I was literally going to go off on the make sure husband and wife know the same command. My husband and I, I identify as he him, Have two Bostons. And I was like what. But then the significant other was better
Thank god I have no carpet flooring.. so that’s the plus side.. BUT I still want him to go outside to do his business lol he’s so darn cute it’s hard to get on to him tho 🤷🏼♀️😂
Omg so my 12 week old Boston did soooo good at 8 weeks old when I first got him to potty on the pad.. But as he got a little older (he’s 12 weeks now) it’s like hit or miss.. I’ve been taking him outside, he will go out and do it there too, but he still will come in & pee in the house as well? It’s crazy it’s like he knows it’s bad but he’ll still do it lol
Hi , I have a 11 month old boston. I have tried treats & everything else ect, any tips on how to get him to stop him from chewing everything in my house, from kids toys, to chewing on my wood furniture like my cabinets in my house😳. Also, I stopped taking him on walks me with & my 2 young kids because he doesn't walk next to me , he just pulls the leash and goes buck wild. Any tips would be appreciated thank you🙂
You need to dominate him. Yank the leash. Raise your voice to a bellow. Ram his face into something he chews screaming NO. Have all your kids take turns hitting him while you hold down so he knows they're second in command.
I got my BT puppy one month ago. She is 3,5m old and I have problems with how to teach her to do her business outside. As soon as we go out to my back yard she is busy looking for the twigs and no matter what she does not listen. I am frusrtrated becase when I take her inside she is happy to pee and poop all over the house. I used to have Boxers and never had this problem. I need an advice badly. Thank you all.
My Boston is very smart and seems happy but I have other Bostons wag their stubby little tails and wiggle their rumps. Mine is a year old and I have never seen him do either. Is that normal?

Boston terriers are known to have a squished face but bellas face seems long she is very cute is there a reason why her face is long or is just that she is a little different from the rest
