I think Arch actually came up with a way a while back. The tl:dr version is have the Chapter Master of the Blood Angels (whose name escapes me at the moment) kill Lucius, since he's the equivalent of a grizzled old war veteran, and has no positive emotions in regards to wagging war for the Imperium or the slaying of others. Also, all of said Chapter Masters arms and armor were created by himself, so Lucius wouldn't be able to pull that BS where he got killed by an artillery barrage, and then possessed the weapon manufacturer who felt pride in the artillery shells he helped construct, knowing they'd be used to kill the enemies of the Imperium.
Majorkill your 40k vids are the best, will you cover the other chaos god champions? I thought that the demon primarchs were the champions of each respective chaos god can you explain that?
maybe Trazyn could just win by technicality by keeping him in stasis for eternity. Just like, oh neat, a chaos champion for my collection, and Lucius never leaves the museum exhibit ever again
@@K-yu-ko8dv The idea of Trazyn snatching up Lucius with no clue about his abilities or significance, but simply wanting another shiny for his Chaos exhibits is peak necron fuckery imo
It’d be hilarious if the Emperor felt pride in killing Lucius solely to cause the curse to connect him to Slaanesh so he could fry the freak with his mind. Just as planned.
@@hardbassdoge8750 Yes because, During the dark age of technology(peaks of eldari and human society) the relationship between humanity and eldari was almost downright civil compared to now, the eldar even helped humanity defeat the men of iron. The emperor was not active during the dark age of technology hence if they got out of line in the time of 40k he would have no trouble just launching a full on attack publically led by him.
I don't know if it would work for I'm no expert in Chaos lore (because, you know, that's heresy and stuff) but I laughed at the idea of sending the Changeling disguised as Lucius to face him, then having the real Lucius kill him and due to some tzeentchy shenanigans make the curse backfire at him because he would definitely take pride in having defeated "himself" but then turning into another Changeling instead. Ironic and double trouble for the enemies of Tzeentch forevermore. Just as planned indeed.
Imagine if Lucius died to a random headshot from a random ork who was just unloading into the distance because he litterally had nothing better to do when he was so far away from the actual front. The probably would not know that he put Lucius down and if he knew, he would probably just feel cheated that he did not get to "Bash dat humie git propah!".
@@hertogvandamme even still. The orks are protected by Gork and Mork, their gods. So they wouldn't take too kindly when that Slaanesh'git is trying to revive his/her champion onto one of their worshipper Boyz.
@Anzu Wyliei no doubt, but the schtick of Krieg is they REALLY wanna die (in service to Big E, ideally, but not required), it's more that they wouldn't feel any pride or satisfaction after the multi-batallion swarm eventually dragged him down that makes them the only IG regiment that could, conceivably, bypass his Cheese.
Kriegsmen wouldn't shy away from straight up suicide attacks either. Killing someone becomes a lot easier once you stop worrying about your own survival, and it would also leave Lucius with no killer to respawn into, even if the kriegsman in question felt some pride in doing his own part in redeeming his homeworld.
I feel like the landmine thing sets a bit too strong of a precedent in terms of what counts as “killing Lucius”. A man who ordered the deathrobot into battle, an imperial commander who started the campaign during which Dante and Lucius met, some heretic that piloted whatever thing got Lucius to the place he was killed at can all be technically considered someone who “killed” Lucius. Basically, if whoever killed Lucius does not qualify for whatever reason, an argument can be made that the curse would simply travel along convoluted lines of reasoning to whoever is next in line of responsibility for the act - cause, you know, Slaanesh doesn’t play fair.
Slaanesh can bring back Lucius from death anyway so it's all for moot Abaddon, Kharn, Typhus, Lucius, Kranon and Huron can be revived Same with Konrad, Talos, Argel Tal, Aximand and Maloghurst If Eliphas can be revived so can Lucius
@@christiandauz3742 Konrad (I assume your referring to Curze) dealt his soul to any of the gods and never served them. So he can’t be resurrected as he was not a daemon primarch.

I guess the best way to kill lucious. Step 1 find a group of suicidal person, promise them death if they kill lucious. step 2 have those person learn how to craft weapon that can kill lucious. step 3 let the, use those weapon to kill lucious step 4 let them all suciade step 5 mind wipe everyone that see lucious death and also mind wipe the decision maker so no one will take pride in his death. Or the alternative way step 1 buy over 50% of shares in GW. step 2 in a shareholder meeting use your voting right and force GW to write a book to kill lucious. If those won't work step 1 call sly marbo step 2 mind wipe those who call in sly marbo or witness lucious death.
GW is kind of hording all the good stuff "for when they really need it", meanwhile the plot just stagnates and we don't get any cool shit happening other than papa smurf's return.
@@paranidherc from an "outsider" or just a casual, its amazing how not only the imperium stagnates but the entire lore without any true advance even when they are pushing to a bigger clusterfuck still near all the same

The guy could trip on a vine, smash his head and the last Old One on the other end of the galaxy would turn into Lucius, cause he is proud of having created the planet it happened on.
@@paranidherc dude they make they grey knights do some dumb shit trying to justify their powers. I feel like the process of becoming one should be plenty of narrative weight for their powers. They are the sons of the emperor. They shouldn't need to bathe in the blood of the emperor's fan girls to get protection from what their genes should protect him from.
Gulliman's also using the Emperor's sword now, which is powerful enough to permakill warp entities like daemons, even in the off chance that he was potentially vulnerable to Slaanesh's curse, the sword would obliterate Lucius' soul. No soul, no possession.
Another way you can defeat Lucius is not even killing him, sever his limbs off, lock him in an adamantium box, and bury him underground. Make sure the person who does this is a blank
Personally, I think the Tyranid plot would be the best send off for him. It would be open ended to allow him back (assuming they have an idea for him), or they can leave him effectively dead as needed. Also a horrific grimdark way to not die repeatedly for all eternity.
@@emeraldblack842 nah he got split in two lesser gods, one is 12 yo atheist and other is the essence of hatred towards everything (not Khorne way, Khorne's worshippers don't kill civilians on purpose. At least not supposed to, because it's dishonourable).
Let's imagine that: Lucius gets om-nomed by a Nid. Got ressed. Then gets om-nomed again. And Ressed. And again and again untill eternity. That's some eternal pain and suffering that even Slaanesh couldn't have prepared him for. Grimdark. And a fitting end.
I mean even if he was to be prepared for it , after some time there would be no pleasure and it would have goteen tedious , eventually becoming torture , even if something is pleasure it can become torture if you're forced to relive it enough times , and at that point he would not only have PTSD that makes normal PTSD look like a joke and , yes he could possibly take pleasure from all this but there's more , pleasure would have no worth to him since he would have overdosed on it so heavly , he would be dead inside to the point of Loyalists thinking that either he was lobotomized , playing or just a doppleganger , then they would realize that it's real Lucius and kill or even leave him out of pity .

I would vouch for fabius bile, in one of the books it explains how much Lucius "fears him" due to fabius's ability to chop him up and lock him away while still keeping him alive
The Silent King would kill Lucius then execute half his retinue for allowing Lucius to come within eye contact. No pride, no joy, just annoyance he had to swat a fly.
What about an Eversor assassin , he would probably be too high to even realize what he just killed and how. Also in the moment of transformation his martyrdom perk would go off

Give Trazyn a call and offer him a shiny trinket from someone you dont like anyway(like a weapon or suit of armor from a traitor or lost primarch) under the condition that he nabs Lucius to. Now Trazyn may have standards on his collection, but even he should have the occasional closet he never enters.
That or subdue Lucius and offer him to Trazyn. Its going to be insanely hard but well worth it, I don't think hes going to be escaping that museun anytime soon.
The sons of malice can also kill luscious since they have no souls not even humans feelings that is why they are good at facing sister of battle or any type of magical characters
The Slaanesh agent that put the crown, said that Guilliman would be cursed to never more feel pride. so it would be an ironic victory to an chaos champion being being beaten by it's own's god's curse. btw, celestine was close to being corrupted in her novel, but an custodes killed her to stop it before she ressurected as normal.

They just need to modify Lucious’s powers through some event. Maybe the Eldar cast some hyper strong anti-slannesh sorcery and Lucious is sent to stop them and takes the spell in Slannesh’s place. As a consequence, he loses most of his connection with Slannesh and has to adapt with different skills.
Concept: Eldar farseer slaps a soulstone onto Lucius before dealing the killing blow. Lucius' soul goes into the stone, so he can't respawn. Hand it over to a Harlequin, he drops it off somewhere deep in the webway.
If I could add two to the list: The Ledgion of the Damn: The fiery hand of the emperors wrath, at worst Lucius dies and does not come back, at best Lucius dies, his soul infects the Lotd Marine and the Emperors holy fire burns it to ask and soot. A blank/pariah: Can't bound a souls to you if they don't have a soul and it is confirmed that the special shoulder cannon can straight up delete demons, so I could hope for that as well.
It doesn't matter, Lucius will just invent some excuse and say that the smith who made their weapons took pride in it. The only way to kill him is if someone does it while naked, with their bare hands.
Guilliman with the Emperor's Sword would be a pretty much guaranteed perma-kill considering the sword can obliterate demons completely. Tyrannids would be a hilarious pseudo-death though.
It would be pretty cool if Saul Tarvitz was the one who killed lucius, Lucius was Saul's Friend and Saul would feel nothing but sadness for killing him
You have an ogryn blindly kill him, then a commissar shames the ogryn, convincing the ogryn that he just killed a man who has a wife and kids, donates to charity, and does community service. The ogryn feels ashamed, cries a little, and goes on fighting with little memory of lucius
Just put him in the imperial palace during the process of killing him ... And let a custodes do it. Then now, Slaanesh has to somehow get through the Emperor in order to get him back, and he's not worth the hassle.

Got one idea that may work. If Lucius is killed by a being that takes pride in it, intentionally, if they are able to resist being overwritten by Lucius they may be able to imprison him within themselves. It would prevent him from resurrecting, at least until that host dies or is finally corrupted by the demonic possession. Not much but it’s something.

He would probably feel disappointment if he slayed Lucius, since the ugly bastard was hyped up to be an amazing swordsman, but Leman just killed him with a single backhand.
Bjorn the Fell Handed is one of the finest dreadnoughts in Imperial records, fighting with Leman Russ in the Great Crusade, and living beyond those he fought.
I wonder if Grimnar's Axe of morkai could beat the curse, since it was a chaos weapon forged for one of khorne's favorite champions and has proven instrumental in beating potentially unkillable foes such as Defeating a daemon primarch
I still think Cain is a strong candidate. Lucius would know that Cain is a pretty good swordsman by human standards and decide to go kill him (because after all, a regular human is just no match for an astartes in a duel). The fight would be pretty predictable, with Lucius basically just toying with him while Cain desperately tries to defend himself. Lucius gets cocky and tunnel-visions right up until Jurgen blows his head off with his trusty melta. Jurgen feels no pride because he just doesn't give a damn and has saved Cain exactly that way like... 50 times, and hey he's also a blank so maybe that matters.
Even if Cain delivered the killing blow because he's always protected by Jurgen's blank aura would never be far enough from him to be affected by the curse. Also even though Cain shows acts the part ofa herofull of bravado and bluster. He's actually quite humble believing he's a coward who's deserving of execution and is just doing his best to avoid it.
@@christiandauz3742 Cain litterally held his own against a Khornate Chaos marine. The man is not quite the coward and impostor he himself thinks he is.
I appreciate that you added the robot at first, as the fact that it is the most reasonable of all the one you put considering the jumps and hoops the plot should go around to make Lucius fight any of the others, with the exception of a timely summoning of Celestine
I read somewhere that The Silent King can split planets in half with a single blow, due to his staff containing a portal that can send a near infinite amount of scarabs through it.
Another character that could permanently kill Lucius would be Epistolary Sabazius of the Exorcists chapter, because he can attack the soul of any creature directly. And without a soul, there would be nothing that Slaanesh could move to continue the curse.
If they do decide to kill Lucius I'll think they'll do it with the perfect clone of Fulgrim. For him to see what path the original lead his sons down and what Lucius has become the Fulgrim clone would take absolutely no satisfaction in killing him, but he'd do it. And the writers at GW could get a lot of mileage out of a story building up to that climax.
Sadly no, since he even could regenerate inside a necron. You know those beings withou any traces of their soul because it was eaten. So yeah sadly lucius is immortal
Maybe demon primarch Angron? I would say that he is far too angry to feel real pride. Also, not sure whether the transformation would work on someone who is basically a greater daemon.
I mean even if all he experienced was pleasure it would spell one horrible fate to him , no mortal or even daemon pleasure would give him any meaningful satisfaction , he would no longer care about anything and would just blow his brains out afterwards due to everything losing meaning , action and everything would lose it's appeal due to how big of overdose he would have taken , and how much of mighty tolerance he would have built up before he's gone through 1 % of hive's creatures .
@@f.e.areproduce5298 also, the hive fleet would not lose the bio mass, While two tyranids are being possesed, killed and dragged into the acid pool by the tyranid that killed it, amd said tyranid killed aswell by the new tyranid out of said biomass, repeating the cycle. So I made a thread on r/40klore on my nominee for “Who can permakill Lucius:” Ciaphas Cain. That mofo is so moody about everything he accomplishes he will never feel joy no matter how much he’s praised. Contingency plan: take him to a black ship and feed him to the Emperor

Slanesh will probably open a warp portal for his depraved arse. Better to put him in Stasis. With a fuck ton of Wards and nulls under the Grey knights Fortress on Titan.
I always thought that if someone had balls of steel and perfect timing they could kill Lucius and then instantly set off a ton of explosives so that even though Lucius takes their body he is also atomised by several thousand kilograms of explosives with no one else to take.
I have a theory that Clone Fulgrim could take Lucius out. My thinking is that since Clone Fulgrim regrets his other self’s falls to Chaos, he would be Lucius as the ultimate representation of it, and see him as so lowly and disgusting he would take no pride in killing him.
Imagine not letting your citizens go to the countryside away from all the people just to make them go back into the city where there’s thousands of more people.
I think Fabius Bile could kill Lucius. If Lucius were one of his experiments and he died as a result, bile would probably be more sad to lose the material than pride
Cawl. One of Cawl's personalities might still feel pride, assuming they had enough sense of self left to have emotions or even sapience....but that just means that Lucius regens as a brain in a jar or as a bit of corrupted code in a cogitator implant. Eitherway, he's stuck... ...and that's assuming Cawl would feel pride in personal combat and not just see it as another variable in a long string of computational strategy. Solar Atomize and move on. Also, he's old AF since he was born pre-heresy, probably about as old Lucius if not older, so the Dante/Silent King/Eldrad age thing could also come into play.
Cawl would be like "Ther are things that can be done which will be better solutions for champions of Chaos Gods, servitors for Sisters of Silence, making you an Eversor Assasin or something similar, imprisonment in life support that doubles as prison, so many choices tell me honestly, which do you prefer?".
the easiest way to delete lucius is for eldrad or somebody similar in psychic power to re direct hive fleet kronos (the hive mind's anti chaos hive fleet) into slaneshi space and then just wait for him to die forever due to the extreme shadow in the warp going on fucking with chaos doing anything
I’d wonder how the clone of Fulgrim would do with killing Lucius. He’d probably stomp him because yeah he’s a Primarch and would see disgust in killing him, viewing him as a failure of the old Fulgrim and as a mistake that must be removed.
Or you know, be like Guilliman or Dante. Seriously, living in a world full of war and and daemons could really remove your pride, especially for Guili boy, as he is just really disgusted, not prideful. Also be like Saint Celestine
Nice idea. Imo few space marines would be equipped to destroy a Ghost, hence they wouldn’t be able to permakill the Guardian. It would be a long tenuous process of the space marines armor being whittled down, or they just get nova bombed at the start
@@clueless2001 ikr because of the immortality a space marine would have a hard time dealing with the guardian, and the fact that a ghost can heal them indefinitely
Meme marines, because they hate themselves so much, that they wanna die. If one of them kills Lucius, he will just cry, that he didn't die this time too.
14:29 You forgot to mention that the Ctan are basically anathema to the warp so even if they aren't too powerful for the curse, it just straight up wouldn't work on them. Also any culexus assassin would work for the same reason.
If the doom of malantai was still around It'd just straight up vore his soul, and all slannesh could do is watch Lucious get disintegrated into the hive mind like an LSD infused gummy bear being ripped apart by a swarm of ants
To this I'd like to add Oan Mkoll from the Tanith First and Only, I've started to suspect the man is some kind of avatar of death, and the Chaos forces are basically convinced of this.
One idea, turn Lucius into a servitor like it doesn't kill him, it just leaves his body as a bio-mechanical slave who's body is kept and mind is imprisoned, a huge taunt to Slaanesh to let it's champion be turned into a damn slave for preferably some Sister of Silence since those will block out warp near Lucius making it dificult if not impossible to free him.
C’mon man... no one wants to see Dante succumb to the Black Rage unless it involves him finally fulfilling his prophecy and saving the Emperor in the process. And frankly, I don’t think anything Lucius is capable of would qualify as threatening the Emperor.
Would definetly like the concept of the dipshit being mutilated unto non existence by individuals and the deathbot and every other being known and unknown in lore and fan stories Also vulcan would not be corrupted by lucius because he is love incarnate and pride is non existent to him Also love the fact you said on celestine 10/10 would let her purge me LETS BE HONEST HERE WE ALL WANT TO BE PURGED BY HER
DOOM Slayer enters the universe. Lucius: They send a puny guardsman in funny armor against me? Slayers Blood Punch turns Lucius into red mist. Samuel Hayden: Who the hell was that? DOOM Slayer: Don't know. Don't care.
What about the clone of Fulgrim? He is a primarch but we also know that the clone is uncorrupted and feels disgust for the version of him that turned. He might would probably feel pity for Luscious as he would remember how he used to be and guilt because Fulgrim would blame himself. I know you mentioned primarchs but you only mentioned Guillimon. A more interesting encounter would be the clone of Fulgrim vs Luscious.
What about Catachan Barking Toad? This thing only means of attack is self destruction and toxins are potent enough that even air tight power armor don't offer protection. It is also probably too primitive creature to have pride. Lucius go to Catachan to kill some Catachan Jungle Fighters but 5 minutes after arriving step on the poor creature. From your list Tyranids are my favourite.
If Lucius would get rekt by Tyranids on a planet, eventually, he would just end up being dissolved, I doubt Chaos God magic can bypass that... or Lucius will be stuck in a forever loop of trying to rebirth from a Tyranic goop, only to be dissolved again and again.
Imagine a Warmaster or Emperor Titan killing him (perhaps without even knowing it was Lucuis) and the Princep taking pride in the kill (as they seem to do) now becomes doomed to become Lucuis the Eternal Titan.
Reminds me of the home brew tyranid fleet that got taken over by lucius on remliez channel. It would be funny if he got shot by a team mate by accident and he was too pissing scared and mortified at killing slaaneshes champion to feel pride
you forgot one as well watching this later. Castellan Crowe. Similar to Dante in that regard except instead of age dulling his emotions, he has to keep them suppresed at all times due to the deamon sword he uses.
addendum: in support to your hypothetical potential slayer of Lucius, the sword crowe wielded harbor deep-seething hate for all minions, daemons and champions of slaanesh alike despite it oddly enough not being a khornate weapon and on top of that it is said to be a very ancient blade similar to the sword Drach'nyen
