GLSkyhawk I like Simon. He seems like a genuinely nice and upstanding guy. That being said, he doesn't really have a whole lot of personality or charisma. At least not as much as Jules, Ben, and especially Blampied.
Here's a few suggestions for a second list: Hell Gaoh - Samurai Shodown 6 Alpha 152 - Dead or Alive 4 Geese Howard - Fatal Fury Magaki - King of Fighter XI, or any KOF boss for that matter, since the entire series is famous for their overpowered bosses.
oh hey there's my General footage lol. two corrections: the "fill the screen with lightning" thing has nothing to do with the General, it's an effect that happens when you do a fully-charged special move after the Power bar on the side fills up. It's distracting, sure, but it can happen on any fight. Also minor nitpick, the slide kick never hits more than 3 times on block (and if you try to stand block in-between hits of it you get knocked down) also worth pointing out that you can't even credit feed to reach The General. You have to EARN the right to face him by getting through the previous 11 stages without using a continue, or else the game just ends. Although none of the stages are obviously anywhere near as hard, it's still a very rough fighting game to play against the CPU in because you have to exploit patterns to get through, or else the game just reads your inputs and counters everything on some stages.
Are you joking? The Tekken 7 arcade mode is very easy, the worse and easiest of all the serie, made for kids of ten years or less to end! Defeat Akuma is very simple!
Leandro SF shin Akuma in the story has infinite super, tons of damage, can kill you instantly if he lands his rage art and if you manage to get to the point where you get rage and must finish him with a rage art but if you miss you can't do this again making it impossible to beat
Ron Mark that still doesn't make sense as night terror was an optional boss. To fight him you had to go on a specific path without dying in tales of souls and he is still on the list so optional bosses are included
I had to lower the difficulty to stand a chance against Akuma... his teleportation bullshit is what really messed me up because I wasn't sure which side he was stopping
How is Akuma from Tekken 7 not on this list? He has a unblockable armor setup into a insta kill (Not to mention he can do it across map and glide to you) . He gets super from hitting you/getting hit or doing nothing it just goes up to full. And he constantly spams Fireballs that do chip damage on your health. He is actually cheap. Kazuya is just challenging. -Strife
yeah! It only took me two tries to beat devil kazuya, but when I first fought akuma and lost by a long shot, I just straight up said “oh HELL NAH!” and quit.
I'm surprised you didn't include Unlimited Hazama from BlazBlue: Continuum Shift. He was once EASILY the CHEAPEST fighting game boss I faced(before I fought Devil Kazuya in Tekken 7).
Memekhar The Mechon Totaly agree with you! You do your best to learn how to "play in a semi-decent way" your favourite fighter, and then he blocks almost all your attacks...just by standing there...looking at you...
Maria from Skullgirls. It doesn't matter what difficulty you're on, whether you're fighting with a character that specializes in short-range attacks, long-range attacks, or even someone like Parasoul who can charge up to have an entire army fight for her, she's going to wipe the floor with your face. Several times. I've only ever beaten her once, on the easiest difficulty, using Peacock, and employing some pretty cheap strats of my own. She has projectiles, she has close-up combos that can trash your health bar in seconds, and she also has multiple phases so you have to fight her with a full health bar repeatedly while the game doesn't have the mercy to refill your own health bar after she recharges. Maria is actually one of the most requested characters the devs have been asked to add to the roster, and they have consistently said it likely won't happen. Why? Because they honestly can't figure out how to balance her to make her not just a cheap win for whoever battles with her. (And she won't have an arcade/story mode since, being the final boss and all, she's kind of important to the game's overarching story.)
Unlimited Hazama in BlazBlue Continuum Shift. Invincibility Frames, High Priority Attacks, Increased Health, Attacks that deal large amounts of damage and a Ring of Green around him that's always active that saps your health to replenish his, along with his attacks doing the same.
+The True Shadow Somebody NEVER faced Gold Slayer in arcade mode. Normal Slayer already hit HARD to begin with. Gold Slayer, with all stats up, INSANE Tension Rate (Meter gain just by dashing or walking toward you), can end you in literally 2-3 hit, INSANE DEFENSE AND GUTS. Here is the catch, his health regenerate over time. Oh, HERE IS ANOTHER CATCH, everytime he hit you whether it was real damage or chip damage, he will suck your life based on how much damage he dealt to you. Yeah, Unlimite Ragna on steroid RIGHT HERE.
Yes! Definitely need more collaborations where it comes to these lists. The back-and-forth dynamic adds the same kind of depth to the list-video format as Street Fighter 2 Turbo's Ten-Star code did for the most iconic game of the franchise. It's everything we love about WhatCulture Gaming, but *ten times better* than the default setting. Please do more!

I think skipping Eyedoll from the original Killer Instinct is a shame, he was tough AF, with teletransporting, huge defense and strikes that take one quarter of your life
I still can't believe MK9 punked out on having you fight Motaro. Sure Kahn in 9 is impossible, but in MK3 Kahn and Motaro were both impossible. I guess even Netherealm isn't that evil.
JC Legendary Motaro wasn't really impossible. Sure, his immunity to long range attacks was fucking cheap, bit at least I beat him with every fighter. I only beat Shao Kahn with Scorpion and Smoke by spamming the harpoon
I feel like Jinpachi should've been on this list instead of Azazel considering that he can stun you, drain your health to restore his, counter your attacks, and has a 2-hit kill Fireball attack that's unblockable. That also added with his smart AI. He's hard even on the easiest setting.
What I hated most about MK9 wasn't the hammer throw, it was his periodic no-sell on attacks. If it was constant, it could be accounted for, but it being *sporadic* made it absolutely rage-inducing.

Nah, he's still easy... he's just that much easier with Megaman. Learn his patterns and be patient, he create plenty windows of opportunities for you to destroy him. He's less than NOTHING compared to #1 in here. He wouldn't even reach top 30 in my list... hell I doubt to say even top 40. Crossover game bosses are generally easy
Ethereal CvS2 was developed by Capcom, note that I said no one from any SNK-DEVELOPED games made the list. Like the original Omega Rugal or his KoF '98 or 2002 incarnations.
There's this game called Nitroplus Blasterz, and the final boss is fricking bonkers. She has insane ranged attacks that she loves to spam and are hard to dodge. She's extremely fast, extremely smart and leaves little room for error.
No-one ever mentions ALL the bosses of Neo Geo Battle Coliseum. Cheap-ass fast red health healing and OP moves you can't use. Got to agree with the General, God Rugal and SSF2T Akuma being on here though.

Eternal Champions...oh that horribly controlled MK clone that was still so awesome back in the day. It's boss, The Eternal Champion, is a rage inducing nightmare. You have to beat him five times and he gets stronger and faster each time. He has incredibly cheap attacks and and it almost seems like he is reading your mind. If you aren't careful, he can kick your ass faster than Gill can say resurrection. Plus, if you get beaten once, the fight is over, back to the start, game over. Not too many people know of the game, and that is a good thing.
i find taboo rather easy, honestly. all of his powerful attacks are telegraphed and can be avoided completely by air dodging or sidestepping. even his insta-kill attack gives you around 5 seconds to figure out what is going on and react accordingly. even on intense difficulty i did not have much problem with him (admittedly, the fight is still hectic). also his giant laser attack? gives him a hurtbox almost the size of half the screen
Have anyone here played "Rage of Dragons"? the final boss named Johann has pretty much 3 times as much health as a normal character and pretty much all his attack can do massive damage and send you flying while reaching you anywhere except in the highest point of a jump but if you think jumping is a good idea, think again, because is pretty much suicide to jump onto him with attacks that can hit you before yours can hit him and barriers that take half the screen. The only way I have been able to defeat him is by spamming moves in pitch perfect frames that don't let him take a shot. It was a bittersweet victory because I had to turn into one of those guys that I hate playing with.
ruyman90. Dude I remember that guy. If you always block and roll he will instant grab, if jump he summon a pillar, and if try to sweep he will either sweep you first or uses his short range projectiles. All of his moveset have crazy priorities and very safe. He was a nightmare to play against.
I'm surprised you left out one of Gill's most infamously infuriating abilities: the fact he won't f***ing die. Imagine the relief you'll feel when you finally reduced the bi-chromatic bastard's health to zero, and the rage you'll subsequently feel when he suddenly gets up, shouts "RESURRECTION!" and regains ALL his health while you sit there dumbfounded. Sure, it only triggers if his super meter is maxed out, prevents him from using any further meter for the rest of the round, and can be canceled if you rush in and hit him before he's fully healed, but the sheer balls of the developers for making a boss that difficult who can just stand back up after you beat him is nothing short of legendary.
The hidden Shadow Jago fight in Killer Instinct Xbox One is a pain in the ass, would've been a nice honorable mention, unless WhatCulture makes a top 10 list for hidden boss fights that you wish you didn't find if you valued your life

Honorable mentions: Corrupted Shinnok (MKX): ALL of his moves have super armor on start up, and the worst of all is his Hellfire Beam attack since not only deals a lot of damage, goes across the full screen, and briefly disorients you, but is also near undodgeable (it lasts long enough to even catch landing characters from jumps) and the EX version is unblockable and he spams it. The Hellfire Choke is a command grab and is unblockable at all times. He lacks teleport but makes it up with his boosted attack power and defense power. In the story mode campaign, you can only fight him as Cassie, who lacks teleports that could ease things a bit. Brainiac (Injustice 2): More specifically, the boss version. First of all, the battle always takes place in his mothership, where he has full control of the environment, granting him access to moves the playable version lacks. These moves consist of summoning giant mechanical tentacles that deal massive damage, are unblockable and really hard to predict. Yes, one can deal more damage than any character's supermove. Did I mention the AI is very aware of this?
Maybe it's just me, but I had NO idea that this was a hardest boss battles list comprised of arcade style fighters. Except for smash, I stay away from fighters like SF, MK or Tekken... I love this list
I was expecting the General from Kaiser Knuckle to be on number one on this list as well, and BOY does it shows! Everything you said about the General is 100% true! I've watched him on the Nicovideo, the video where Japanese players tried to beat them, though I myself speak just a little Japanese, so I could kind of figured out what they're saying, and the part where somebody played him as a boss! And the only way to beat him as to just exploit his AI glitch, THAT is how bad he is! At least with Ultimate Rugal, I was able to beat him easily with Sagat, due to his Tiger move that I kept spamming, but if I wanted to battle the General, I will say to myself: ''good fucking luck!'' because the General can go fuck himself! Oh, and he's a rip off of M. Bison.
+Dave lol fuck no. General is way cheaper than Parace. It took literally someone nearly 20 years to finally beat the General. Yes he is that HARD. Try watching videos on him, you will understand then Parace is only a baby compared to the General.
oddleader12 _ no seriously, I beat him with all characters and around 60% of them at ease. I have a different story with that Akuma post story fight in Tekken 7, though. Fuck that guy.
Not My Name well he isn’t impossible for sure and for guys like you who probably spent way to many hours in fighting games he might be easy but for a casual player (almost all people who play games) it’s not an easy fight so don’t try to you know bash everyone who thinks he is/was difficult
Me and my brother found two ways to beat Night Terror easily way back then. My brother's tactic would be to abuse Xianghua's sidestep sword-push attack since that always baits the AI. My tactic would be to use Yoshimitsu's Moonsault unblockable, then follow up with his High Manji Dragonfly suicide falling attack twice.
Did you guys try to beat Shin Akuma (Special Fight) on the hardest difficulity (10 stars) which you have to unlock?! It pust Azazel to shame man. Even Devil Kazuya does if it's on hardest difficulty.
Fun fact: the spelling "ou" in "Hadouken" is meant to differentiate a longer "o" sound from the standard-sounding "o" sound without using the macron diacritic (a narrow dash literally struck just above vowels; in this case, it looks like this: "ō" i.e. "Hadōken"), because that kind of glyph wasn't always available (thank you, Unicode)... "Macron" is the Greek neuter adjective for "long" by the way, but thereby also the nounized name for that diacritic.
Also, "Azazel" is supposed to be pronounced "A-za-zel" in Hebrew and "A-zā-zil." Native English speakers tends to not use "clean" vowel sounds, however these are a lot more common in other languages (e.g. in Greek, there are no combined vowel sounds any more, which really confuses most Greeks when they learn English, as they have to literally learn to blend vowel sounds together; and I think the same is often true of other cultures, which is why so many people from different cultures have this very distinct sound when they are bad at English pronunciations).
dragonslayermaster ornstein Ivan Ooze (Playable Character in a Power Rangers Game from the SNES) can't block but he is arguably the most OP playable character in fighting games
Here's my cheap boss story: Me with a pocket full of quarters in the late 90's or early 2000's. A local video store has Samurai Showdown 4 by SNK. I discover balance problem 1, to my favor. The character Suigetsu can fire a projectile while jumping. If you fill his super move bar DO NOT use his super move. While his super bar is full he fires double projectiles and IIRC, they had homing ability. Most of the characters in the game were susceptible to this one move cheese. You could either wait until they attacked, jump back and blast them or slowly erode them while they blocked in the corner and get a time win. Then I face the final boss, Zankuro. I'm not sure if I ever beat him, but I recall being very surprised by his crescent projectile. It more than the entire bottom half of the screen and it's a one shot kill. I recall wearing him down to 1/8th health then, suddenly getting the "You Lose" screen.
