RU-vid sent me here but fun fact: Back in 1997, senior year of high school, I met a guy named Jesse Cardinali. He wore band shirts from bands I had never heard of. We sat next to each other in class and he noticed I was listening to Slayer (Divine Intervention) and asked if I wanted to check out some stuff he liked. He handed me three CD's: Cannibal Corpse (The Bleeding), Death (Symbolic) and Carcass (Necroticism)...... the rest is history.
Similarly in 1993, 9th grade, kid in my pe class would always wear an beneath the remains long sleeve, I listened to alot black flag, misfits, cro mags, the end of that year I had every thrash/death metal tape you could imagine, got a guitar and a shit ton of tab books and became a recluse for years just play every possible minute
Those still hold up to this day. I remember when I was fairly new to metal probely heard mayby Slayer and pantera, then I met a dude at the skatepark and we got in his car and he was blasting dimmu borgir and I was like wtf is this witchcraft haha
Does it?? I think it’ll be different for everyone and it also depends on how long you do it for. But I’m going to physio at the moment. Ever since I started sitting like this my back and arm are way better
@@JamieSlays if it's better for you, that's great! For the arms it is better for sure. I just had to stop playing that way because it really painfully. Only standing for know with the guitar up to petrucci level xD.
Wow I didn't even know this post had replies until now! I prefer the classical position myself. I think some might not like it because it forces you to set your back straight, whilst on the popular position your back gets more relaxed (but it will lead to bad posture in the future). The main difference for me, though, is in my fretting hand (left arm). My left arm stays much more relaxed and natural in the classical position.
Death's Lack of Comprehension was the best palm mute alternate picking exercise for me back in high school. Anything cannibal corpse did is sure going to test your wrist endurance. Carcass' Incarnated Solvent Abuse, Along with Heartwork, Really taught me the value of right-hand technique.
Starting with Autopsy is always a great thing. Seeing Vader and Immolation on here too gives you major kudos. Of course ending with Death is perfect. Give us more videos like this!
Cool video. Personally I can't see a list like that not having something from Altars of Madness, Left Hand Path, or one of the first three Deicide albums but regardless - cool stuff 😁
very true, morbid, entombed, and deicide should have been in there, but suff and cann are there sooooo, ok....long hair big plus, gauges...wtf...all in all cool
If I made this top 10 it would have been: 1. Entombed - Left Hand Path 2. Cannibal Corpse - Hammer Smashed Face 3. Death - Zombie Ritual 4. Morbid Angel - Maze Of Torment 5. Deicide - Sacrificial Suicide 6. Carcass - Reek Of Putrefaction 7. At The Gates - Blinded By Fear 8. Macabre - Vampire Of Dusseldorf 9. Napalm Death - Suffer The Children 10. Krisiun - Perpetuation
Maybe you should know that Chuck didn't used the term Death Metal for his later releases! And he also denied meny time to be the godfather of Death Metal!
Amazing covers and riffs. For those who think death metal is just noise and distortion, just look at this video to conclude it takes years of practice to get to this level. Very nice video and the guitar sound is superb!
randomly stumbled upon this video this morning. I just had a minor epiphany on my picking technique 🤯 because of those sweet angles 🤙 thank you Jamie!! 🔥
Jamie, that's some nice playing. Glad you included a Cannibal Corpse tune :-) I saw them live years ago in Dudley (I still can't believe they played there!). I find it hard to come by tutorials / tabs for their songs. Anyway, keep slayin' bro.
Hal Leonard's "Best of Cannibal Corpse, Guitar Tab Edition" is decent, I bought it on Amazon... Not everything is 100% accurate, as with MOST tabs out there, but I'm having fun with it, and it's a great starting point for CC in my opinion. Also, check out Songster online, there are some good ones there too (and free). But ALWAYS take online tabs (or even published tab books) with a grain or two of salt. Some are just absolutely horrible! Anyway, happy hunting, because I totally agree with you: they are very hard to come by!
@@SlayingMantis676 first of all, hellhammer and celtic frost aren't even death metal, you dumb fuck. And second, he can only put so many bands into 10, if you dont like his picks, why dont you stop complaining and make your own list
Great list and covers! I like that you went with some alternative but essential tracks to highlight, instead of the usual “big hit” tunes we associate. Save CC, but come on, everyone should be able to play Hammer Smashed Face.
Wow, have really great ones in there! Some I got into watching then got down since they were only specific parts not the whole song or most of it. I get your title for the video. Ending with Canibal and Death nice touch of dfferent playing styles. That room size you are in, it could be a Master Bedroom Closet size. The width is just enough and is a great choice as your recording studio! When recording, I know it will be better with smaller space for quality if using mics not DAW's or any USB Dirrect pugin for the acoustic chambering. Using a set of Studio Speakers on Tri-Pods, is a good idea. I am using a set of older JVC 2.1 Channel Hi Fi Speakers with a 100-watt Solid State Stereo Amplifier. The two speakers share the Bass output power. Hence the 2.1 Channal. It is a nice stereo monitor system for the price I paid in total. The Desk space is small to me with all I have on it. The amp is so powerfull I can not use it at full range. The Amp will blow and will need to reset the Power adapter due to clipping if I do that. I use the speakers for audio to my Gaming PC I put together. Yes, I should play those to get better styling and ideas to create better music. It has from over the years to watch other guitarist play like you upclose in a controlled encoirment and think to myself that does not look that difficult. Then if I try to play it is like man this is difficult, ha. Having Carpletunel does not help either. Oh well, I love to play.
Awesome video Jamie!! Your best one ..IMO. I would have added incantation onward to Golgotha but i'm glad you had immolation in there . my favorite deathmetal album is dawn of possession. So fuckin evil sounding. 😈💀
Is guitar tabs the best way to learn bass and gee tar?seems like it's harder to watch and play along because you can't always see finger placement! SlaysCops! Slays swine2
I just discovered this channel, where had you been? Really kce content I am going to watch many videos. Small tip: get some cheap LEDs to make more contrast in your lightning together with a lightning ring instead of room lightning! Keep up the Good work!
