I'm glad you and Dallas put out a video like this showing people that there are designer fragrances that are better than niche. I have 160 something bottles in my collection some indies, some niche, but more than half are designer. I don't care where it comes from, who makes it, or if its cheap or expensive. If it works on my skin and I like... It's in the collection.
160??? My first one was 1 million by paco and now my second one 10 years later is The one Royal nights EDP. I could never see myself having that huge of a collection.
There is a lot of designer fragrances better than niche..however this list is bad. Some of these fragrances are bad like encre noire & dior homme intense lol
Would be cool if they did some sort of collaboration where they discussed their RU-vid journeys, and their methods for keeping the content as fresh as possible. I imagine they might discuss that kind of thing behind the scenes, without breaking the fourth wall. I recently recorded a couple of fragrance list videos and it’s way harder to do than I imagined. My delivery sounded so flat and I almost sent myself to sleep watching it back. I have a new found respect for Ashton and Dallas after that 😅
Some of these can stand up to niche from my experience. I was glad to see Ombre Leather in here, that can definitely stand up to niche fragrances. The quality is on par, the performance is on par, and it's not something a designer would usually do
Tom Ford is niche imo, maybe not technically, but at £250 a bottle, his stuff may as well be niche. His stuff at YSL and Gucci, designer - his own label, niche.
I’ve spent quite a lot on fragrances that I just can’t find a situation for. I find I reach for quality designers more as they offer versatility and more opportunities to enjoy the fragrance. Now before I buy a fragrance, I think 🤔 when would I wear this? Do I own too many of that type of scent already that are probably better? A lot of the time I fail badly 😂I just love fragrances.
Great list. Based on experience I vouch for Dior Homme Intense and Sauvage Elixir. I'm looking to get that D&G Light Blue Forever since you hype it so much and keep seeing people bring it up as well.
@@Maser50007 yeah I was wondering about that as well. some people vouch for the intense instead of Forever. wonder which one is the right one as well. I order online so hard to make the decision about which one is better.
Test the Forever before you buy. It's great and photorealistic, but also very feminine, loud, and can smell like bug spray to some people. I like it but it's a bit too challenging, I blind bought Italian Love hoping it's a bit more refined.
Nice video Ash! Love ombré leather. Bleu de Chanel parfum is the highest quality designer frag of all time to me and I think Guerlain Lhomme ideal EDP and Extreme are niche killers as well!

@@kcisthe1st I don't agree with that guy that Elixir is just average it's unique and might not be for everyone, but if you're looking for like 80% clones the closest would probably be Latafa - Asad, and Alexandria Fragrances - Ete Sauvage Elixir are probably the closest ones.
Out of 120 frag . Versace pour homme, sauvage elixir layered with sauvage edp & a couple valentino frag & azzaro most wanted parfum or intense get me tons of compliments .
I must say I enjoyed your video but the last statement you made was awesome, I've watched a few other influencers and they rave about all the niche fragrances like it you don't have this your not on top of your fragrance game but most people lets be honest isn't trying to pay $500 for a fragrance that performs poorly."Avenetus" the new batches. Now don't get me wrong I have multiple Niche fragrances that I have paid retail for but they have to really grab me the Nishane brand right now has really got my atttention. lol but most of my collection is designer, so thank you for bringing some nice designer fragrances to us.
Light Blue Forever is a beast, but Italian Love is better imho. It has the same initial grapefruit punch, but it's a bit more complex later on, and it's HEAVENLY. Give it a try.
the chanel can be worn year round,....in the cold weather it still shines, the creaminess and sandalwood bring it home even in the cold. it's great in any weather.
Tom Ford ombre leather is 🔥🔥🔥. Especially the Parfum. It last and last and last. The juice gets you noticed!! Ombre leather is a top scent. Can't go wrong.
My two favorite fragrance RU-vidrs are Ash first and a very close second Dallas and you can tell I've been watching both of these guys for going on two years both of them and they both pretty much have the same kind of tastes I really think that these two need to do a few collaboration videos together I would definitely love to see that
Great list, no surprise. Definitely love Dior Homme Intense (it's a little pricey and tough to get now). I'd add these, too: Y EDP (some might prefer the LP) -- not cheap per se, but you can find the gift sets + sales + coupons, etc. Moustache Eau de Parfum Rochas -- cheap, but I love this one... if you enjoy vanilla, this is vanilla Republica Jazz Club by Maison Margiela -- can get it cheaper if you time it at Sephora For reference, my favorite scents are niche. . .Clive Christian Blonde Amber and PDM Carlisle
I think I got a bad bottle of L'Envol, because it ended up smelling really sharp and funky. I know there's an animalic tinge from the honey in it, but it was NOT how I remember it. Bummed.
in my local department store and nearly pulled the pin on buying man in black but went with Armani code parfum as it's something i know i would wear more often... and it was reduced in the sale so it would rude not to (£84 for the 125ml)
I'm sure I've seen that Tom Ford Ombre Leather in at least 50% of the videos on this channel over the last 2-3 weeks. I'd love to see more about lesser known scents, it feels like a lot of the same scents appear and makes things feel a little repetitive.
People think niche just means expensive but Dior, Chanel, YSL and especially Tom Ford all have products priced fairly high. Niche just means the house specializes in just fragrances and they have different distribution channels. All my Manceras and Nishane are cheaper then my Tom Fords.
I know it’s a little weird but could you do a top 10 list of scents similar to guilty pour homme and born in roma ( to me they have the same type of sweet water type of scent )
every prive line of designers can more than compete against niche fragances, some are even better, whats the point of making something that 2 people will like?? there of course super awesome niche fragances and thats also great plenty to choose
I think it’s healthy for the industry to have lots of different houses, all trying to compete, trying to come up with new and unique profiles or twists on a specific style.
D&G LBF has a very strong rindy grapefruit note that really dominates everything, so much so that I can't really smell much else. IMO, if you want a much more balanced version of LB that still has that great grapefruit note but tones it down quite a bit, get LB Italian Love. IMO it's superior in every way, even down to the box and packaging and, especially, the price at discounters, since it's discontinued.
Hey guys! I have a fragrance store, and I have never had this many people asking me for Dior Sauvage. Does anyone know if it is coming back to trend? I usually carry 2 bottles since people are not always serious on buying it. Now that I have sold them all, I get calls and messages asking if I have it haha
I have over 70 bottles of high quality juices, I get most compliments out of my Pepe Jeans Cocktail ($35) go figure. My next most complemented scent Fan di Fendi. So my advice is don't go with hype or price. test them out yourself and see what work on your skin.
Bulgari MIB smells nothing like spice bomb but there are 3 frags that smell exactly like Spice bomb, they are TF noir extreme, by the fireplace replica, and polo red blaze
Elixir is the only Sauvage worthy of a niche comparison, it's amazing. Ombre Leather is polarising, personally not for me, guess that makes it niche comparable 😆
I might try out man in black come this upcoming fall. Managed to try spicebomb extreme this winter and I’ve had several compliments from both co workers and guests alike at my workplace Edit: I agree with you ash, I got a sample page from ulta in the mail right after Sauvage Elixir came out, I was blown away, got and became my signature scent out the small collection I have. It’s budget version (Lattafa Asad) is a amazing compliment getter and alternative in its own right as well.
Need help finding a specific type of fragrance. I’m looking for something that’s Classy and woody but that also has a dark or rich sweetness to the wood. Something that smells like being dressed up with a white button down shirt while sitting in a luxury wooden office. Been looking for months with no luck. I appreciate anyone who’s able to help.
I assume you’ve already tried Oud Wood and Royal Oud then. Do you like resins, or incense like frankincense and myrrh? Do you like piney camphors notes? Or sweeter like Ombré Nomade?
Suggestion - Gentlemen Reserve Privee by Givenchy. Oozes class and sophistication, nice woody notes with a hint of whiskey, some fruity notes with bergamot, and some sweetness with iris and chestnut. Absolute masterpiece. Not mad expensive either, £50 for 60ml, and it goes far and really lasts.
@@James7995 Oud Wood is actually one of the ones I have on my list of decants I’m going to purchase up next, so going to see if that’s the one. And in terms of notes that I like, I’m fairly new to Fregrences so I wouldn’t be able to tell you Exactly but what I can tell you is some of the ones I’ve tried and liked but that weren’t Exacly what I was looking for. So far the one that has gotten the closest to what I’m looking for is Givenchy Gentleman EDT Intense, it’s classy, woody and has that dark rich sweetness that I’m looking for. I think what I didn’t like so much about it was the iris. It comes across to me as too feminine.

Comme des Garcons Wonderwood, dry wood and very clean. Zadig & Voltaire This is Him, smokey, sweet and lovely sandalwood/javanol dry down at very inexpensive price. Armani Code Absolu for cooler months, rich, sweet vanilla, suede, touch of citrus, projects well.

Best fragrances for smokers. I love fragrances , have over 30. But which are best for Winter/ and smoke. I know Tom Ford ombre leather is one. I've smelt off my brother after he's had a smoke and it just went well.
There is literally only one person on earth that could possibly know that and that person is you. Tons of people have both, tons of people only like one and think having both is a waste of money. A lot of people think you can’t go wrong with either, some only like Profumo b/c of a single note and wouldn’t touch Profondo. And how would anybody know which one you prefer? Sure, typically Profondo is the safer, more versatile choice, but Profumo is also very safe and versatile and some say more mature.
Ashton has said many times that he prefer profondo over profumo cos of its versatility. Myself I describe them like profondo is modern Adg but more green and aromatic, while Profumo is the modern Adg with a but of incense. More formal and less sweeter than the profondo. I prefer it over the profondo. Smells more professional and classy than profondo. The difference is so irrelevant that after you smell them both you should just pick the one that click the best for you. Having both is basically overlaping. Any shop have them so you can easily try...
I must be the only guy who does NOT like Sauvage. Sampled all of them and they just do not resonate with me at all. Will the Sauvage hype ever go away?
where is zadic voltaire this is him? its literally more unique than 90% of ''niche'' fregnances, also alot of lattafa fregnances are more unique and often at same time more mass appealing than niche. nowadays so many new houses release new frags, that most of them are no better than designerm just added a bit of twist, often stinky one like fake oud or animalic notes
Creed and parfum de marly are house of parfume that all they do parfum..not comparable to other clothing company that do parfum as a side income..the quality of the is not comparable..
A lot of reviewers keep pushing Dior Homme Intense. I had it, used it for a while and recently sold it. I am familiar with the previous version and the current one is a shadow of it's former self. Diluted fragrance, the pear note is replaced with a boiled carrot in the new 2020 formulation. The price, smell and performance are not justified. There are another alternatives better and cheaper.
Video idea. One bottle collection at every price point. Like if you could only have one bottle to wear in every situation at $20, $40, $60, etc. feel free to play with the format, but i would love to know your thoughts
