Considering he's used a fair amount of ideas from PT in Death Stranding it could be a possibility that he reused or repurposed alot of his ideas while fitting this new narrative of his, I can't say for certain. I just hope he gives us a new update asap
Also worth noting is the age difference between the characters. The first (youngest) character seems carefree as she recites her lines. She looks naive and painfully unaware of the horror that awaits. It also seems that she’s able to do the exercise with the most ease. As if she’s been doing this her whole life. The second (middle) character is clearly aware that something isn’t right. It seems like she isn’t sure if she should be a part of this thing or not. She also seems to not fully understand what is happening, but this manifests as fear instead of carefree naivety. The last (eldest) character clearly has the most trouble with the exercise, possibly due to his age, or possibly just due to the fact that English isn’t his native language. I’d say he doesn’t fully understand what’s going on either, and this manifests as anger. Feels like social commentary focused on the rapid evolution of technology and AI and the fear of our unknown future. Where is it all heading?
Atami is a place in a Japanese prefecture called Shizuoka. 7780s studio which made P.T...7780 was linked to the area measurement of that prefecture. Kojima talked about it in the pt interview with Geoff in 2014. And he specifically mentions Shizuoka, saying that if it is broken up into its two syllables, it loosely translates to Silent Hill. Atami was a reference to Silent Hill which I still believe Silent Hills is absolutely not dead.
I’ve watched the trailer a bunch of times and am still at a complete loss but this is why I love Kojima’s projects. They are always abstract and interesting.
These letters spell ATAMI, a city in the Shinzuoka prefecture. If you take the kanji of the name Shinzuoka you would get 2 words: 静 [quite/silent] 岡 [hill]
I thought the pattern in their eyes was the ultra-realistic capture "booths" they use now a days for photogrammetry that produces ultra-resolution assets for videogames.
There are so much connections to P.T Silent Hills. Man, I wish there is a cameo or a part connected to the story of P.T. I wish it happens. Bcz we all know that P.T was not connected to the main game from story prospective. Maybe those hallways are canon in OD's story line.
Your “Death stranding is Silent Hills” videos are what got me into editing. I can’t wait to see more of kojima game and all the theories that will come from it!
It’s getting annoying really it’s kinda like Ok nobody can figure out metal gear even when you think you have you haven’t but it’s like bro everything can’t be like that eventually you going to lose more than you get
Speculations and analysis of this trailer is far more interesting than the trailer itself. This is clearly an experiment of some kind, maybe some Twin Peaks or Westworld type themes. The knocking sound and visuals, therapy session(?), reminds me of the movie Beyond the Black Rainbow.
I mean, the trailer's practically begging you to look deeper into it, it's intentionally abstract and small. The trailer is not in any way trying to sell anyone on a product.
My guess is that maybe the three characters are a.i, and that they are subjects in an experiment to become human by feeding them human emotions and thoughts. Specifically in this case, human fear. And maybe these characters could start to become afraid of humans because they are feeding them human fear ( and we know human fear can be very terrifying ). And I think that because Kojima is using Xbox's technology for this game, that it'll allow him to have the characters be affected by player data ( both individual player data and overall player data ). Specifically what kinds of horror each player could experience. And I believe that people speculated that Silent Hills was gonna have that.
@@SOLIDSNAKE. I have no interest in death stranding it doesn’t make sense to me but MGS5??!! Mannnnnnnn you wanna talk about a plot twist to leave somebody dizzy 😂 without this page I would’ve have no Gotdamn idea what was happening in that game cause half of it was a illusion the other half was controlled hypnosis that game is what made me love it here
My guess is: the characters in the game will be subjected to the test by us gamers. They will react accordingly to our actions. We will be able (among other things) to make them feel happy, safe, loved, respected etc. or we could choose to make them suffer, to feel miserable, sad, terrified etc. Its gonna be up to us whatever we want to do to them in order to OD them. In the end we are the test subjects...we're going to find out who we truly are, how far we can go, what we are capable of...
"The quick brown fox, jumps over the lazy dog." It contains all of the letters, sounds, and expressions in the English language. Cloud based AI tech will allow them to recreate words based on individual scenarios. Like I've been saying, I will walk in ANY simulation Kojima San wants me to, he already has my money!!!
Not quite, that sentence is an English pangram which contains all the letters of the alphabet, but the phrase that Sophia, Hunter and Udo say is a phonetic pangram, which contains all the sounds of an alphabet., it also makes sense that this is what they said for motion capture and CGI rendering.
@@OkamiSatsujin huh? they are speaking english, but the pangram is phonetic. You are mistaken that ""The quick brown fox, jumps over the lazy dog." It contains all of the letters, sounds, and expressions in the English language" it just contain all the letter (with some doubles). What they are doing is recording motion capture that will alter be used for CGI rendering.
The girl screaming didn't have the reflecting patterns in her eyes like in the beginning. I think the patterns are from the ring lights around the cameras recoding them. Also, I feel like these subjects are going through different tests and the voices behind them resemble others who were tested but failed. And when u progress u move on to the next stage-perhaps the next phase of fear! She was happy at first then progressed to the next stage where the ring lights were no longer around and the door opened. That's when she became scared and screamed. She was in a trance cause it was a whole new stage as I stated. Scarier. She didn't know what to expect. That's why she frightened esisly. Not because whatever it was was scary, but because she's on edge expecting the unknown. For a split second her fearful expression subsides in a realization like oh, it's u. lol probably just the person/people testing her.
This is how you market your game, and keep it fresh in the current enviroment of remakes and remasters. That guy always has fun challenges for us fans to puzzle with. I even thought it was the new title for DS2 when I woke up to the trailer drops from TGA, and as much as I'm dissapointed in the absense of that game - we now have two new games to look forward too and decipher up to release.
I read an article that says that, yes, Atami is a city in Japan, but also the two Japanese characters that represent the name "Atami" in the Japanese language (if you separate them) can and will translate to silent hill. I had the japanese characters right there and I never ran them through a translator though, which I would normally do immediately. I have a great deal of curiosity and a love of the truth, not today's "truth" that is now generally based on who is offended by what. I have no idea why I didn't run it through the translator now. I can't post a link to the article in the comments even if I do though so, IDK google it for yourselves if you wanna verify it. Edit: I ran it through Google translate and yes it is very close. The second character definitely means "hill," and the first character didn't have "silent" listed as a synonym on Google, no, but the synonyms it did list are right in the same vein as the word "silent." So what does this tell us? Knowing Kojima? Probably nothing at all 🤣
the structure that reflects in the eyes of the characters could also be the one that the studio (KJP) uses to 3d scan the faces of the actors, the one with lots of cameras all the way around
If you know about meta humans and its ability to performance capture off a 2d video then I think we’re going to see facial insertion of the players into the game and onto the models
In fact I already noticed some things before watching your video :D The Geiger counter sound, the reflection in character's eyes and the different emotional states. It's crazy to think Kojima himself thinks of all that to make a 1.5 minutes long trailer with so much detail. The five letters translated into Japanese (I think) is a town's name and translated back to English means "Silent Hill". So I guess Kojima found a good partner to work on a horror game he had to cancel when he was thrown out of Konami. Silent Hills was also in a very early stage of development when Konami fired him, he wasn't even able to finish Metal Gear Solid V and that's the reason all the missions had to be played again, the final mission was only completed about 60% in the progress.
either title is going to change and it's actually Silent Hills or it's Silent Hills but with a different title, or its completely something else entirely, but will reuse ideas from Silent Hills that obviously never got used because of the issues with Konami, along with new content that will be added to the game. I can't wait to see Jordan's Spin mixed with Kojima's in this game. I'm also seeing and feeling alot of David Lynch aspects that might appear a homage to his work or maybe even David Lynch himself will appear in the game? Not sure, but part of it is a feeling and part is being skeptical with coming up with ideas.
2:40 thats creepy BUT it looks like a Noh mask... and if i recall.... Silent Hill F was gonna be in a japanese town.... OD is 2 letters... like PT...."Fear" Silent Hill is fear wait... 4:59 thats called tessellation. Ive been doing a lot of research in metaphysics and wait a minute.... with the gap in the door... its another reality.... ok so ive been doing KH theory videos and uh yeah thats metaphysics alright. PT, OD, AND MGS V.... huh... and yes i know Death Stranding uses it too.
I'm convinced this is PT reborn and I've been convinced for a long time that pt was game about mk ultra style mind control and I still get that kinda vibe from ODs trailer
Anybody else notice that the 'OD' logo is eerily similar to Remedy Studios' newer logo? That, and the echo-voices here sound JUST LIKE the echo-voices repeating their nonsensical mantra in The Oldest House. I wonder if this will, in a second-hand nature, be a part of the Remedy-verse. Similar to how SCP Foundation and Control have an unnofficial bond. OD might just be another AWE.
Is a village in the Japanese prefecture of Shizuoka. If you translate the Kanji anagrams of Shizouka, you get Silent Hill. Also, Kojima refered that prefecture before several times.
Great, another sadistic mind control torture game from Kojima, why am I not surprised? Dude is obsessed with MKULTRA and is likely a contemporary MK-subproject operative.
An animation that seems to have been created by an artificial intelligence, repeated phrases that could hide a hidden message, some subjects that seem to be undergoing a psychological test and an anxious setting within a dark place where the only light source is an opening door. Is it a game about human mind and fear? Could it even be a videogame about AI becoming human? An AI inside a human vessel to become sentient. They seem artificial sentient living beings. Or perhaps it could be a video game about controlling an artificial sentient living being, or perhaps it is a normal sentient human being, which you can influence psychologically through the use of psychoactive substances? From this concept could come the title "OD" which could mean Overdose. Kojima said that it will be something that combines movie and video game. A new form of entertainment. A new type of media. And the use of cloud gaming will be fundamental. Perhaps the actions of the rest of the other players could influence your game experience and that humanoid you could control. Kojima cares about philosophical themes such as "connections" and "syntony". Maybe this game is about a new way of living reality through a new form of living being that somehow manages to be in synchrony with its species, in this case the player connected to other players via cloud gaming. Who knows. Philosophizing about the art of Kojima is interesting. Kojima's mind is incredible.
@@fishels3895 Sony had plenty of opportunities to give money to kojima to make this game, but they didn't. Microsoft opened their checkbook to make this game possible. I don't care where the game goes I'm playing it regardless on what platform it's on. if you only can afford a PS5 then I feel sorry for you.
I also have a theory that the faces are actually all CG using a advance 3D engine. For some reason I feels un easy looking at their faces. Almost not real.
very unqiue for a announcemnt teaser to show off how realistic kojima is pushing the tenchinical boundires with actual mo cap sessions but a thematic tease at the end
i think its so clever to use the specific focus on the lense here. the eye has just enough information to trick you into thinking you are having an uncanny valley moment. a small part of me thinks these are digital renders and not real for that reason.
@@FreeKnilly Kojima's all about advancing rendering tech, the final product may not end up looking this good but I'm pretty sure it's a render none the less.
You talk as if that theory was debunked. It really hasn't, and only got more credible since the game's release. So yeah I'd say we're doing this accurate and reliable as much as we can. Just because we haven't made a follow up video yet, doesn't mean it's not coming 🙂 - Python
If you haven't gotten one yet I'd wait, no platforms have really been announced yet, and it could be a stream-only game if it relies too much on the cloud, which is what his Stadia game would've been.
Given the absolute garbage that was Death Stranding and its masterpiece in mediocrity of storytelling, i bet this game will be given the same hype, and the marketing and trailers will be a hundred times better than the game itself.
I lost almost all interest two minutes after learning about this when they showed that boring, racist Jordan Peele was involved. The only interest that remains is the fact that they have Yuri in this.
