The best part about all of these meta layers dealing with the promotional media is that you don't even have to be engaging with them or even realize that they are present to enjoy the property. It's more effort that isn't going to be noticed or cared about by every fan. But they still do it regardless. Props in my book for going the extra mile.

I'm not sure if this has been pointed out elsewhere, but if you put OD into a Caesar Cipher and rotate either 22 clockwise or 4 counter clockwise, you end up with SH. Could be a coincidence, but it definitely supports the idea that OD is a new silent hill game.

If it were any other creator this would be insane. But it's Kojima.

One of the reasons I love your channel Python & Selkan is the fact that you do your "homework" on what you're covering. Gives us Kojima fans a little more than hope. But with nothing coming through so far for years, I wouldn't say it's a "stretch" to believe, but I wonder if Kojima is just trolling just to troll with no payoff at the end. Oh well. Whatever happens happens. At least I got more Kojima works to look forward to and Metal Gear Delta as well. About the best we can hope for at this point.

Never gave up on this conspiracy, because it has always been super fun. Remember when they teased the new "fog" tech for Death Stranding?

It's almost a decade so I think we should rest from riding this poor dying horse. OD will likely be Kojima's new horror game, but it wouldn't be Silent Hills. It's something else, something may or may not be full original, but still a unique Kojima game regardless. In conclusion, it may very well be conceptualized from cancelled Silent Hills, then reborn as a new game completely with its own unique stuffs. Konami already has their own multiple SH projects too anyway.

When I'm almost over with Silent Hills not happening you guys come up with this. Want something else to think about? The letter O is four letters before the letter S. Also, the letter D is four letters before the letter H. However I'm more inclined to think Kojima is using the PT hype to promote his new game just like he did with Death Stranding.

Short Message is just a 1-year time exclusive Sony paid for (same for SH2 remake), it’ll come to other platforms the same way PT would have if Silent Hills was not cancelled altogether. The PT door on stage and the Atami tease was his way of saying OD will be the psychological horror we wanted from Silent Hills, not that it is actually Silent Hill. I do believe they tried to get the IP way back when they were teasing it on social media, but it fell through. OD was originally a Stadia project and it may have been Silent Hill back then.

I mean he came out at the Game Awards though the door from PT. Yet, I'm beyond sure that it's all just Kojima being a fan himself and a guy that likes to do these things. He does. It's not all some game of 5D chess. Sometimes it's just what it seems on the surface. He's saying and alluding to just enough to not get in trouble or sued. He likes to keep the fans talking and wondering. Yet! And yet...lol...I think it's clear that OD will be as close to what he envisioned with Silent Hills as can be. That and some new ideas added in, I'm sure. It's on Xbox now as well so it can't be *actual* Silent Hills. The same way Physint will essentially be MGS in spirit but without the key elements that make it MGS. For instance, I guarantee there will be MGS Easter Eggs in Physint. I'd bet on it...and yet it's not MGS. That's just how Kojima is. Clearly, there isn't some nearly decade long secret plan going on. Clearly. You're out of your mind if that's what anyone sincerely believes. At best both Kojima and Konami will see the desire from fans, they will have made up and collab in some way but it won't be due to some ongoing Machiavellian plan.

Well… My thoughts from immediately after seeing the reveal trailer, and seeing Kojima emerge from the PT door, I was sure that it meant that that OD game was essentially gonna be the medium through which Kojima would realize the ideas that he had in store for PT… Which, immediately makes OD the single most interesting game there is out there to me… Hopefully that is the case. And hopefully it won’t be too long before we can experience it for ourselves.

This doesn't come up much anymore, but I don't think the split between Kojima and Konami was actually very contentious at all. The articles about the new Kojima Productions having difficulty applying for its company healthcare plan were never quite true, there was never any reason to attribute that problem to Konami meddling in the process somehow, and it was resolved so quickly that it was probably just a small error in the paperwork. It's clear that the departure of Kojima and his team was the consequence of a disagreement in direction for the Digital Entertainment division of Konami which was at its most serious immediately after the release of Ground Zeroes, which if you remember, was the year after PT. PT was part of the pre-production of Silent Hills and was literally an advertisement for the same. Konami taking it down wasn't an effort to erase Kojima's work. It was just because the Silent Hills project was no longer going to be developed. Similarly "A Hideo Kojima Game" being removed from other Metal Gear products' branding (except Ground Zeroes for some reason) was just to make the split clear, and also to show that they had the intention to continue with the brand without his direction, which they did with Metal Gear Survive, and which they would have continued with had that product succeeded. It's entirely reasonable to suggest that since Konami's focuses on the mobile games and gambling machines markets haven't worked out for them, they chose to hire Kojima Productions (definitely on more favorable terms than they ever had as direct employees) to salvage and rehabilitate their struggling brands with a known reliable partner. And this arrangement may have been agreed upon when Kojima's team first became contractors for MGSV. Split, no contact for a certain duration to allow the diverging strategies to develop, reevaluate. We know Kojima himself is an effective and persuasive communicator of his ideas and also clearly a better businessman than he ever got credit for as Vice President of KDE, I can absolutely believe he made a favorable deal out of a bad situation.

I think OD and death stranding are connected, OD being PT and the protagonist is the same one as Sam , so Sam will go in a coma in death stranding at some point in the game and then the PT/OD game kicks in so that Sam is having some kind of nightmares about Lou getting killed and that would explain the baby in the sink in PT. This is all just speculation on my part.

Speaking of the split, to this day. I'm still confused how Kojima was still able to keep the Kojima Productions name. My thoughts was,Kojima was going to call the new company Hideo Productions as a nod to his former partnership with Konami. Why would Konami be so chill with Kojima keeping the ip of his studio like that?

someone tried saying Death Stranding 2 is just gonna be the same delivery bullshit.... not realising that Death Stranding 2 could easily without warning become a 2.5D fighting game or some kind of Pachinko simulator called Koin An' Me. Didn't Microsoft try to buy Silent Hill from Konami 9 years ago? There's a chance that Microsoft could already have the IP rights for future projects and they might have assigned Kojima productions to make it.

you know, i have been putting the pieces together, for couple of years now. everytime I tried to tell everyone they ARE working on a silent hill with Normal reedus, i have lots of people telling me "sHuT uP, n0 1 cArEs, DuH!!" I can even get my brother to get in touch with norman about new Silent hill, But i wont because its obvious, It IS a New Silent Hill and i got it all panned out. Plus like the interviewers mentioned Kojima likes to F$ck with its core fan base gamers. People who felt that MGS has gone in the wrong direction since MGSV, replacing their own Phantom Pain with hatred towards those who want to dream because their dreams of a Hollywood-style action movie wrap-up were crushed. I stated in my last mainline release that I think that "The Ruse" as we know it is dead. I *did* however leave the wiggle room of admitting that I've been wrong before, so I might be wrong about that too. After spending 7 years studying Hideo like a frozen Sahelanthropus, 4 of those years purporting that "The Ruse" is real... I can only hope for vindication at the end of all this. For all of us who have dedicated time and effort to spelling out these connections. My series "Kojima's Deception" might be dead, but hope is not lost. Not for good Kojima content, and for some, not for "The Ruse". Keep on keeping on. o7
