Ordering a jeep is actually the absolute best method. It isn’t giving them power. Dealerships have to pay to have those jeeps on the lot-they don’t *own* those vehicles. Ordering a Jeep means they don’t have to *pay* to have that Jeep sitting on their lot *or* have to sell the Jeep-it’s already sold. Any and all profit is 100% theirs. No “rent” to eat away at their numbers (5-10$ a day via quick google search). This means there is more flexibility in their numbers to ensure said profit happens. It also means their *Monthly* numbers get even better. So it’s best to shop around near the end of the month, and order from the dealership that will hit the price you want/can get (often 5-7% below invoice, but it definitely can get even better). It’s literally the *best* win-win for everyone. Beyond that... great advice.

Thank you so much! Going to the dealership is such a tough thing to do, this makes it much more do-able with being prepared. Love the video!

from what i can see at my local dealer, jeep is now selling four cylinder wranglers for the price of what used to be six cylinder wranglers, so if you want a six cylinder then you have to spend thousands more. like a bait and switch

healthyamerican the turbo used to be a grand more. Wait until the diesel comes out...

Got to disagree with the no-haggle dealership statement. I bought my JK from Rocky Williams in TN and no surrounding dealers could match the price; they even tried to say I was lying about my quote. I’ve sent several friends to them. Every dealership is different, but they do invoice price, give you the hold back, and an additional $400 off. The experience never felt pushy or uncomfortable. I should include: I ordered my Jeep and got the same discounts as what was on the lot (they didn’t have the color I wanted).

Jon Erik Greene sounds like that was the best deal in your area-nice job! This isn’t the end-all be-all, but has some good guidelines to get the best price. Thank you for checking out the video!

Are you saying don't make any down payment at all, or to just wait until you get the rock-bottom price to tell them about the down-payment and trade in? Thanks..

How do you run the VIN and see what the invoice price was that the dealership paid for the Jeep? (Step 5)
@AmericanJeeper
@AmericanJeeper 5 лет назад
There are quite a few sites that you can pay to do this. I have used Edmunds in the past

Any tips on paying cash for the Jeep? Say from an insurance settlement that you're waiting for. I know years ago it made a big deal, I'm thinking dealerships these days don't do anything for cash customers.
@AmericanJeeper
@AmericanJeeper 6 лет назад
bigdawgfan72 the same process would apply, just don’t tell them you are paying cash until you reach the number, and try and squeeze more out then once you bring that up.

Won't they give a lower trade value if you wait to present that factor
@AmericanJeeper
@AmericanJeeper 5 лет назад
Joshua Jeremy no you keep the two separate, and appraise the trade outside of the transaction of buying the new Jeep. That way you have firm numbers on the new Jeep, and you can focus on making sure you get a true appraised value for your trade. If you don’t do that then they can try and hide some of the numbers between the new Jeep or your trade.

I live in the Northeast. The 6 Jeep dealerships in my area don't seem to like the words cash and special order. When buying a 50K plus vehicle I want the color and options I want. They may think I am a difficult customer but I am the one writing the check.

Buhler in Hazlet NJ always check for what's in stock, if not they will gladly factory order for you

This is common sense stuff. Would people really try and negotiate trade with the buying price all at once? One thing at a time is always best and clear. Keep something in your back pocket till the end. Be it a big downpayment, or paying full in cash.. Watch their jaws drop after they thought they were making $ on the back end on finance and they lost it. This is just basic buying. Don't fall for the low monthly payment quotes they give you.

Jeff Nickoloff it is to some and not to others. We were all new at some point. Totally agree that it “should be” pretty easy

Gotta disagree with your building take. I built mine exactly how I wanted it. Jlu rubi stinggray, I wanted the alpine 8” infotainment, tow package, and cold weather group. I got to track my build, and shop insurance once my vin was issued. I got a text the day before it arrived and got to see it come off the truck. My dealership worked with me on price and I was out the door with tt&l included for 49,500$ . I handed them my approval from my credit union and they handed me my keys after it was detailed. It was an amazing experience so I’m not sure why you would tell anyone not to do this.
@AmericanJeeper
@AmericanJeeper 6 лет назад
I am all for building exactly what you want, and that is great that you had such a positive experience. These JL’s are awesome! My advice is that if you are someone who wants the absolute best possible price, building isn’t the way to go because although things can go sideways, the Jeep is essentially sold in the dealer’s eyes. When you build and lock in with one dealer you lose leverage and likely pay a little more for getting the Jeep exactly the way you want it, when in fact there may be roughly the same Jeep in stock locally that can be had at a lower price with proper timing and negotiation.
@bguidr6186
@bguidr6186 6 лет назад
Again, that’s not true. Because like I did, I showed them the JL I wanted on Autotrader, they were happy to beat the price if I ordered it from them. So I’m speaking from experience.

b guidr was the Jeep you found on Autotrader identical to the one you ordered? I’m ready to order mine this weekend hopefully 1
@AmericanJeeper
@AmericanJeeper 6 лет назад
Totally make sense and I am sure you got a great price, but it may not have been the lowest price. How much did they beat it by and do you know how much under invoice you paid for the Jeep? If you had a trade, how much over/under what it was worth did you get? I am also speaking from experience as I have purchased over 20 new vehicles. If you are happy with it, that’s all that matters. You have a great Jeep and are enjoying it I am sure. 🇺🇸

Christopher Lacoste it was. I didn’t want steel bumper or leds because I knew I would change those out anyway. No need to pay for it :) my INstagram is rocky_rd_jl you can check it out there.
