New Jeep Wrangler Factory Order Tips 

We got a 23 4xe rubicon on order now. I got every option. Everybody was saying 'you shouldn't have selected this blah blah blah it'll be delayed and you'll never get it'. Ordered 7-13, in production now with est delivery date of 11-14. If I can't get it the way I want it then I don't want it at all.

Great video. Would love to see a series on how to build the best, or what to look for on the lot, in the "fill in the blank purpose" (daily driver, mall crawler, offroad beast, dune runner, rock crawler, overlander, trail explorer, beach fun ride, etc).

Content idea, make a video building out a Jeep for different types of uses, and maybe even going through after market stuff. For example, a video building out a Jeep for someone just wanting to do light overlanding and camping with the family. Then another video building out a Jeep for someone interested in rock crawling..

I ordered my 2023 Wrangler 4XE Sahara on Sept 3, took delivery on Oct 9. 5 weeks. Pretty much loaded out - all the electronic options, at least. It actually showed up at the dealership 3 week EARLIER than the online tracker was estimating. (Northern Virginia)

Whole-heartedly agree with what Matt says at 9:00. If you even think you might maybe one day like the AUX buttons, get them from the factory. I had a blast doing the install on my Gladiator, but there's still a downside... When you install the buttons after the fact, you only get 4 wires for the 4 buttons. If you order the option from the factory, you get 2 extra wires: one for direct to battery, and 1 for ignition power. This is really helpful for stuff like dashcams that rely on a constant power source and ignition power source to operate parking mode correctly. Like in my case, even though I have the buttons now, 2 of my buttons are used up by my dashcam (one for ignition, one for constant). So I did all of that work, spent all that money, and I only have 2 buttons left for lights or other accessories.

Nice video. Your videos are a great weaith of information. I just got my extreme rubicon about a month ago, which took 6mos. to get. I ordered it pretty loaded. Was disappointed with dealer because they can't get any info from the factory. It's my third new generation jeep. If the dealer knew about certain options that aren't available that should help the process. Anyway keep up the good work. Thanks

This was great! Can’t wait to watch the transfer case video. I want diesel for towing but would love a Hemi. I want the metallic granite color but it doesn’t come in 392. Ugh. Like mcDs I want it ordered my way 😅

Our 2023 Diesel Rubicon took 35 days to build and deliver. We took delivery September 10. The process for us was very easy and we even got a fair bit off MSRP. Based on our experience we will definitely order our vehicles from now on and get exactly what we want.

Nice video. I just ordered a wrangler rubicon yesterday, and the recon package is not available with 3.6. The dealership had no idea and verified that jeep just stopped building with recon a few days ago.

I noticed for the 2023 sahara, the side step bar does not come standard on it like the 22. , and you can’t order the remote start on its own for $495 , you have to purchase the cold weather option. I plan on ordering one but i will leave that off and go to a local shop and have it installed. Same with the LED lighting option. It’s probably cheaper to buy them aftermarket and install them yourself

I think the only thing I regret not ordering on my jeep is the dual top group. However, I don’t have space currently to place a hard top or even the soft top unless I rent a storage unit which isn’t ideal. I am really liking my soft top though. Another option is the hitch and aux switch. Having to buy aftermarket hasn’t been fun.

If you want something go for it. Don't compromise and later regret when you see it on other Jeeps ;) I factory ordered 2 wks ago with all options and I got the high velocity 2l cyl Rubicon

I messed up with aluminum door sills - prob delayed the build. And the front camera is a great point.

Hi Matt, what would be really helpful in ordering and comparing models, would be a detailed list like what’s on the window sticker showing what’s included in each package. Example; what comes with the Freedom edition? And the Willys. Steel bumpers? Front or front and rear. Led lights? Front only or front and back. I can’t find it on jeep. I have to look at a vehicle for sale and then link to the window sticker to see what you actually get and what you still need. Thanks. I’ve been watching you since day one. I’m pretty sure when you have the xtreme recon package selected and then you add the 4.88, it removes the xtreme recon package

The main thing I got from this vid was the phrase “after the fact”! However, it was a very helpful video. I wish I knew this before I got my Jeep. I trade my current 2022 Jeep Willys JLU for a factory order one with the xterme recon package.

I wish six months ago I could have just called Matt and had him work me through the order process. I’d easily have paid double what he’s asking now to get my order done. I live in a small town and needed to order through my local dealership to maintain that service bond. If you’ve ever lived in a small town you know what I mean when you show up for a service problem with a car you bought cheaper in the Big City and you get that - “Oh now you need me!” - back of the line attitude. I thankfully watched hours and hours of Matt’s former RU-vid Channel and was able to literally walk the local dealership’s ordering staff through the process to get the exact vehicle I wanted which they didn’t know even existed much less knew how to order. The rare Willys Sport 6sp Canvas Topper; which is as close to a 1969 CJ5 Kaiser/Willys with the V6 Dauntless engine this oldster had in High School and which still sits in my shop waiting for me to retire and do that rebuild!

Any chance on giving daily updates on what has been removed from build and price or added on. I experienced this when building out Hellcat. Just because what it shows online doesnt mean it was available. I was disappointed with not being able to order a manual trans but a few months out of the year. I am now looking at building a 392 in the hi viz color or possibly a new bright crazy color they will come out with. Waiting for 20th anniversary, 37's, and most importantly 5C.

No more red needles and gauges on 23 rubicon. Saw one with orange . Was shocked .

Steel bumper? I rarely see one on the lot with it. Yes aftermarket but especially for a lease a xr with steel would make it cooler and keep it all factory. BUT do they add big delays that you’ve seen?

What’s the biggest tire that fits on a stock jk unlimited?

Do you recommend the factory cold air intake on the 2.0 ? And could that slow down delivery ? Thanks!

I did a build yesterday and chose to see what dealers had through the jeep site. The price difference was 10k more from the jeep site. Why is that?

I ordered the 2023 Willys because I felt like it had a lot of features that I wanted and came in a lot less than the Rubicon after I added all of my packages. We don't care for the mud terrain tires on it though. What size tires would be good to put on it that are wide, but wouldn't require changing wheels?

You cannot get the 4.88 gears with the Extreme Recon. Once you click on it, in your video, it said 8 changes were made. And the picture of your build showed that package removed

How come the Extreme package is priced the same for Rubicon and basic sport? Rubicon already contains several elements/parts (like axles) from it. Similar the extreme package offered by Ford - Bronco Sasquatch package costs less for higher end trims compared to the base simply because (and it makes sense) most of the components are already there.

I've been wanting to order a 2024 Rubicon X with the 2L turbo but the dealer tells me right now the only option is with the 3.6L. Any idea if Jeep will start offering the X with the 2L any time soon?

What’s the difference between the standard VVT V6 and the e Torque engines? Is it beneficial to forgo both of those engines in favor of the 2.0L I4?

Maybe unpopular opinion and only slightly on topic rant. The Willys doesn't get enough off road treatment. Jeep needs to up their game for the Willys. It should come factory with the Rubi fenders. Steel bumpers should be an option. Sway Bar disconnect should maybe be an option. Factory manual swaybar disconnect with the Evo knob standard? Fox shocks and mud terrain tires isn't enough for the gap between Sports/Sahara and Rubicon. Save the lockers and leather for the Rubi and at least make the options available for the Willys.

I ordered a 23 v6 wrangler a week or so ago and the dealer told me the XR package wasn't available did they lie to me?

Ordered a 23 JLU 3.6 high velocity rubi. Here in Md. dealership told me to not void my warranty, I’m not able to go more than a 3” lift with 35” tires. Is this a jeep law or is it individual dealers? They have it in writing supposedly. Do you know anything like this?

Are they going to have 37” package?

Is it possible to know or find out if the jeep i ordered is the last purple reign xr
