Since you didn’t touch in fantasy at all, may I respectfully add a few? Delicious Monaters by Liselle Sambury, Legendborn by Tracy Deon, Children of Blood & Bone by Toni Adeyemi, Black Leopard, Red Wolf by Marlon James ( intense Afrocentric epic fantasy - trigger warnings!) and any of Helen Oyeyemi’s enchanting magical realist works (a personal favorite author of mine). I just finished Only For The Week and mannnnnn I need a Rome in my life so bad 😩😩 I just started Excuse Me While I Ugly Cry and I think Before I Let Go is next because I don’t think I can go any further without reading it. I have so many black authors I want to read this month I wish I had more time in the day to read them all lol definitely will get to all of them by the end of the year though so that leaves room for plenty 🙌🏽

Instructions for Dancing is one of the books I read when I first started reading again and it’s my favorite book of all time!! Till this day I feel like no romance book can top it. The tears I cried while I was reading😭😭😭
