Definitely. I feel he has been a little delusional after that loss. He's a legend, but his time has passed. The talent pool has passed him by. Its probably a good thing him and Khabib didn't fight because he would've been absolutely dominated
First 2rounds was like ehh tony known to be a slow starter 3rd round is like ok this is not looking good for him,4th round my heart is breaking because im seeing 8yrs 12fight win streak of hard work long due title shot going down the drain,5th round im just depressed
4:08 I was at that fight in Milwaukee and I vividly remember how hard it was to watch that fight. Those kicks to the body echoed the entire arena and at times sounded like gun shots!
Gaethje vs Tony definitely should have gotten a mention. I've never heard the announcers so horrified at the punishment a fighter was absorbing while still on their feet
@@blakestormcrow6275 same. Literally anyone else was better, nick or the other british guy. Now I’ve stopped watching 3/4 of the videos cuz I can’t stand this man corny voice 😆
Personally the hardest to watch. Who the heck thought giving her to Shevchenko for her debut match was a good idea? A new fighter against one of the best UFC fighters .. combined with Mario I like fights to the death Yamasaki.. this was really hard to watch.
Watching Max land punches on Kattar and dodge the ones coming toward him, while talking to the commentators, is still the most badass thing I have seen in the UFC.
@@moyaosullivan5771 Lionheart was a moron, he later said stuff like he'd have fired anyone on his team who'd throw the towel and nonsense like that. People like Lionheart is exactly why way too many people in MMA will have CTE and why while annoying, I'd rather have every stoppage be early than late.
Khabib vs Barboza was one of the most terrifying beat downs. Watching barboza felt like watching a baby antelope being mauled by a lion. Complete hopelessness in the eyes.
So bad bro, I remember watching and feeling so bad. I’ve watched a lot of fights and it’s one of the only ones I’ve felt bad about him getting mauled on. The look on his eyes was that of pure hopelessness.
@@jordangrey8913 Robbie got out struck by about 5 punches and till by about 15..... They have nothing to do with the list and that's why they aren't on it dummy
Gaethje always puts on some crazy beatdowns, either of himself or of his opponent lol, like the Tony fight was super hard to watch, but I think his most devastating beatdown was in his debut vs. Michael Johnson, where he kept putting Johnson down with punches after a 2 round absolute war, and instead of going to the ground to finish the fight, would force Johnson to get back up to take more punishment, eventually leaving Johnson collapsed in a heap with a knee to the head.
I think Gaethje wanted Johnson to pay for the ugly trash-talk in the leadup to the fight. Johnson insinuated that Gaethje was inbred and talked up a game of wanting to kill him.
The moment when Tony started shaking his head vs Gaethje...the amount of damage he took in that fight is life changing. Has been gun shy in the striking department ever since eating counters after counters from Justin
Another fight that was hard to watch was Teixera vs Smith. One of the first few fights during the pandemic and you could just here the ground and pound, Smith breathing hard af after every punch he absorbed on the ground trying to fight back
I love how for quite a long time the UFC had a referee who was practically a walking health hazard. >.> I'm surprised we didn't have fighters who once the ref was announced didn't just immediately tap before even fighting lol.
If I was a coach and saw Max "blessed" holloway dodge all my fighters punches and return with a straight all while NOT LOOKING at him, that towel would of been thrown in faster than a MLB pitch.
Most of these fights on the list that I saw I enjoyed watching and wasn't really bothered. This fight however I was thinking "how are they stopping this!?" from the first round. Gifford literally looked like a child being brutally abused in that fight. Probably the hardest fight to watch that I've ever seen.
@@NicolaMaxwell Khabib was playing with him dude. Conor was huffing puffing for air and getting opareting between the rounds while Khabib didn't even sit. And do I need to mention all the cheating Conor did?
Frankly I dunno what's more demoralizing to a fighter: Seeing Max go full Matrix mode and dodge every single one of their punches while shit-talking the commentary team, or Max pausing his offense to tutor them in basic counterpunching.
@@ramirospinelli6453 Right, but at the point that it became one sided it was arguably the hardest fight to watch of all time. Aldo had completely given up and was just bleeding all over the canvas with no answer.
The most chilling moment of figgy vs joe B was him yelling in the background of the broadcast as he regains consciousness, and realised what had happened. *absolutely chilling, gives me goosebumps thinking about it*
I remember watching Fabio vs. Texeria. It was one of the earlier fights I watched and it was before I knew who Mario Yamasaki was. I remember thinking that the ref had more brain damage than both the fighters combined for allowing that punishment to carry on for so long. Yamasaki is such a bum!
Predictions before the list starts: Holloway vs Kattar Holloway vs Ortega Barbosa vs Hooker Adesanya vs Vettori - the script for this vid was probs made before the fight though Figgy vs Benevidez Khabib vs anyone (barbosa in particular) Tony vs Gaethje Jones vs Shogun Cain vs JDS Nunes vs Spencer
I rewatch Holloway vs Ortega once a month. Idk how that's hard to watch. One of my favorites. Everyone was overlooking Max, even though he was the literal champ. So many people said he was going to lose. I mean the closing odds were -115 Max -125 Ortega.
I've been watching MMA since '94 and would 100% put BJ Penn vs Diego Sanchez in my top five one-sided fights and possibly at the top. The stats for BJ are off-the-charts and Diego's face barely looked like a human (much less an alive one) at the end. It was 25 full minutes of brutality. Go watch or re-watch that one and you will certainly have it on the next iteration of this list!
I think this is the hardest part of explaining MMA to people who don’t watch it: I don’t WANT to see someone get hurt, but it is a combat sport and when it’s one-sided, it’s not enjoyable to watch. That’s not competition, that’s a beatdown.
I used to despise McGregor but I've gone to appreciate him now, McGregor at 145lbs was a buzzsaw, I think most of his fights were literally one way dominance, I actually think McGregor's technique has gotten worse but 2013-2016 he was probably the best fighter there, he moved up to 155lbs then to 170, not many fighters do that, he's not even a big LW, a big FW, a tiny WW but he got in there, he's lost in the UFC against the elite only, Nate Diaz's record doesn't tell the true story of how good Nate is, also a small WW, any fighter who moves up deserves respect and even though I've lost a lot of money betting against McGregor he was incredible in his day, creative, skillful, good chin, a nuke attached to his left wrist with an underrated kicking game, his hook kicks are great, his spinning back kick very effective as is that front kick to the body, he needed a few tune up fights before taking on the upper echelon of the UFC LW division, Masvidal calling him a coward for not moving up is like him getting called out and a coward for not fighting Jiri or Adesanya, I've never once seen a boring McGregor fight, not once, can't say the same about all of the roster, Nurmagedamov is 100% LW goat but he never moved up, he was happy near killing himself to get to 155lbs but Khabib is a WW in reality but he made the cut so fair play, could he have gone to FW like McGregor? Nope.
I felt terrible that I let out an involuntary burst of laughter when I first heard it, it was a brutal finish but just the way they responded to him coming to killed me
That weili fight where home girl had a second skull growing out her head was probably the most brutal thing I’ve seen in a fight outside of overeems lip and Anderson’s leg.
Personally I love these types of fights, it’s like a masterclass that really showcases a fighters ability and skill, but I u definitely understand why it’s not everyone’s cup of tea
Great video as usual. Mr video editor, it is a fine line you’re skating on to put Mr.Bob Ross and “terrible drawing” on the same frames. Some things you just don’t do.
