@@superwhiteboy619 He assaulted an audience member after a fight, literally jumped out of the ring and did a flying kick into the crowd. It's in this video. Same with Connor. Attacking a buss full of people, he could have blinded that one guy who got broken glass around his eyes. I think rules should apply to everyone equally. Do you disagree?
Dana White 2023: "Flags are banned." [One Month Later] "People are too sensitive these days! Flags are allowed again!" [One Month Later] "Flags are banned."
@@whyareyoureadingmyname5854 Because maybe peopleunlike yourself hold morality in high esteem and agree having all the money in the world is no excuse for stupid pathological behaviour
As a long time watcher of combat sports the golden rule to follow with promoters is to never take what they say at face value, and that's most certainly true in regards to Uncle Fester.
I think Dana realized it was futile trying to get the older guys to retire. Most of them wouldn’t listen to him and the ones that would eventually ended up coming back or fighting in other promotions, so I think he realized he’s gotta let them do what they’re gonna do and just focus on building the younger guys. IMO
Also, he was definitely biased towards Chuck and Hughes. One he use to manage and Hughes was one of the first dominant Champs, and dana definitely had a close relationships with alot of thise guys
The misunderstanding is that Dana wasn’t really trying to get anybody to retire. If he didn’t think they should be fighting anymore he could have just cut them at any time. Dana was trying to lower the fighters negotiating power by publicly stating that they’re washed and should retire. The only result Dana ever cared about was paying less.
Dan Hardy was absolutely right in calling out Dean for that horrific refereeing, but I do understand that they can't have members of the broadcast interfering with officials in any capacity. Although Dean did approach Hardy and wouldn't have done so if not for pandy conditions.
Dana didn’t even take action against him over this but more so just used it as a warning for the future. He did get fired around a year later over a subsequent verbal altercation with a colleague. I’ll always shake my head at people being in such disbelief or get upset that the most bankable fighters get treated differently than others as if this isn’t the way things go in almost all companies and likely always will. That doesn’t make it right nor make it not suck when it happens but it’s basically just common sense and the way it is likely to go down wherever you work. It will forever be an analysis of what value is attached to somebody and if you print the dollars it should never be a surprise when that person has a really long leash because they account for so much value to a business to be handled in such ways. Doesn’t bother me really
Dana is definitely bullshitting about how Francis didn’t want to take any risks but overall I think the UFC genuinely wanted to keep Francis and obviously saw him and JBJ as money but Francis’ demands was just plain ridiculous.
Stopping the vid at 30 sec not looking at any comments. If refusing individual sponsors because "the fighters should look professional and not like racecars" while continously filling every inch of the octagon floor with more and more sponsors, every beam, every side, all that has a tiny spot to fill with more ads of all shapes and colors, isn't high on the list I'm gonna be sad. Oh and when that's not enough poor Jon Anik needs to cram in live ads for car tires and vodka during the _live commentary of live fights_ .
Yeah that moreorless proves it was a pure cash grab. Say what you want about the way Francis handled his exit but he was 100% right on that, and I'm glad more people other than the likes of Mark Hunt are saying it.
1# Dana: I think Connor is pound for pound best in the world. One year later… Conor Vs Khabib 2# Dana: we fired Dan Hardy because he was mistreating a woman working here. Dana’s wife: hold by beer 3# Dana: I care about my fighter’s safety Also Dana: keep going, Tony Ferguson! 4# I don’t do gimmicks *power slap exists*
How about Dana not allowing the fighters to have their own brand sponsors, because he didn’t want them looking like a billboard? Then he paints the cage with sponsors.
@@L0RDWAR12 McGregor has accomplished *more* than any other fighter and is the *Undisputed* *GOAT* of *MMA* for the *Hardcore* fans and the *Casuals* Be honest, you would have never have even heard of *MMA* if it were not for the *NOTORIOUS* *MAC* *DADDY* *CONOR* *MCGREGOR!!*
Im glad y’all took a hard stance against Dan Hardy being fired. Cuz you could literally hear Paul Felder screaming too as well. Paul and DC, and even Rogan have all went against stoppages. Herb Dean literally approached them too, there was no justification for it.
@@robertmitchell4512 No fs! I’m aware of that but Dana’s post fight speech bout the whole confrontation sounded like that event def could’ve been a contributor. Which while is complete speculation, the backlash hardy got from that during that period was def pretty major. Def should’ve said “he shouldn’t have gotten the shit he got when that happened” but I also can’t imagine that the event wasn’t a factor as well.
the whole verse were dana says "we dont make fights after a fight" always got me confused because half the time he does it during post fight press conferences
Heres something alot of mma fans forgot, last time the ufc co promoted was with cage warriors when the pandemic just hit England and they had to cancel a event (Woodley vs Edwards) and they had 2 of their fighters fight on the cage warriors card.
Like Ian if Dana just admitted to being wrong in these situations, long time fans wouldn't even be mad. Casuals and newer fans don't remember all of these, but it's literally made me want to watch less and less over the years.
Honestly that thing about RU-vid not giving you old videos is so fucking true. You can type in the exact videos name and not find it sometimes. I like that they tried to force Premium onto everyone this year while making the platform even worse again good shit YT.
Jason, Bobby Jackson was the backup PG behind Mike Bibby on the early 2000s Sacramento Kings teams that routinely competed with the Lakers in the playoffs.
I think you could make a really good argument that the UFC didn't want cross promo with strikeforce/EliteXC was that they had a wayy better HW and MW roster.
StrikeForce selling broke my heart. I had already watched a couple of UFC fights before getting Dish Network and actually watching a few StrikeForce shows. I actually got into it and looked forward to it being on.
@@declamatory if you're young enough to know what that even is, I've probably been watching longer than you've been alive. Idk how you thought admitting you're 12 was the play, but you keep doing you champ.
Best intro ever with the Forrest Gump reference haha bobby jackson!! Sacramento Kings legend and backup point guard Bobby Mutha fucking Jackson! Haha great vid like always boys
When Dana says shit like "that's a dumb question, you win the dumb question award." Does anyone else wish they could reach through the screen and crack him one???
Dana White 2023: "Flags are banned." [One Month Later] "Everyone is way too sensitive these days! Flags are allowed again!" [One Month Later] "Flags are banned."
Dan Hardy didn't get fired because of him saying stop the fight. That was just used as a scapegoat to get rid of someone who had become a thorn in Dana's side. There is more to this it you do your own research, he really disliked a certain female who Dana had a 'special bond' with.
Jones Jones when asked about why he failed a drug test, with something that affects fights: "take the mic away, better journalism". The fug outta here..
