HBK vs Taker II at Mania 26 is my favourite match of all time. I'm not saying it's the best, but it's my 2 favourite wrestlers going at it and delivering the most emotional match I've ever witnessed. Shawn losing like that and retiring almost made me cry.

I liked Walter vs. Pete Dunne more then Walter vs. Tyler Bate as Walter's win over Pete Dunne had more impact with it ending the longest championship run of the era, longer then CM Punk's reign and one that was actually actually had the bruiserweight defend his belt on a consistent basis unlike Brock Lesnar. It also made a star out of Walter in his debut match for WWE.

A top 10 doesn't do this decade justice. The greatest decade in the sport's history. We've seen THE best matches ever throughout the years. Also, I'd displace the top 2 spots with each other. But that's just me.

TheRuthlessRed That’s a sometimes forgotten absolute masterpiece. Imo it was AJ’s best match in Japan, I preferred it to the Shinsuke bout, as good as that was itself.

No, it makes sense. Even when I break it down year to year, AJ has never had a match of the year to me. He has had more great matches than anyone aside from Okada, but compared to the matches on this list he hasn't come close. He has a higher level of consistency, but none of the truly brilliant peaks.

@@ethanwilkins662 To me, it really wasn't, and that's unfortunate considering how much emphasis they put on it, but some parts of it were very sloppy, a lot of minor botches, and by virtue of being a sequel, it didn't have quite the same emotional ending.

Kushida/Hiromu was legit my favorite match on WK11, yes I even prefer it to Omega/Okada 1. It’s a brilliant match some forget because of that main event and the also-great Naito/Tana match. Hiromu’s return against Ospreay is going to be amazing.

Although I personally rate Becky & Charlotte’s Last Women Standing match a smidge higher than Bayley & Sasha’s Takeover one. No one can deny the significance of the latter’s match at the time. It felt like a game changer.

Taker vs Michaels WM 26 is my all time favorite match ever. Is the the best match to ever occur? No, but it was freaking amazing and a challenger for the top spot. and although the their first match may have been better match wise, the story built this one up to be just as fun of a watch if not more so. So glad 26 made the list.

@Devin Godfrey THANK YOU. People are ranking them only as pure matches. But not only were the moves still on point and the finishers more frequent and intense, but it's the story. No disqualification (unlike before), Streak vs Career, Shawn finally getting his rematch. It had everything, not to mention it was the main event. It's at least the best main event match, but it deserves to be on any top 10 WWE matches list. Even if it shares the list with their previous match, well both were awesome for same/different reasons.

Watching both the 25 and 26 matches I believe they are quite even in terms of the match. 25 was longer and better paced, but 26 had the story, the risks, and more of their bigger moves. You could argue even though it was hurt by pacing, it seemed as though taker was just trying to end it quickly in terms of story since he was confident he could win again.

@Devin Godfrey Exactly. He hits snake eyes right off the bat which scares you into thinking squash match or something but then the rest plays out well. Even though it was a little thing, I love that on the third tombstone he jumped to make it seem harsher. Like going from the spirit bomb to the universal spirit bomb. DBZ reference.

By far one of the best lists I have seen. I personally preferred Michaels v. Undertaker at WM25 and would have added Gargano v. Almas, that match made me fall in love with NXT.

With my on and off relationship with wrestling, my first and only show is my native Cardiff at the UK Takeover. I was on the side, the hard cam would see behind the ring, so naturally not set up for all the spots for PPV. I knew how fucking good that match was without a camera. Bear in mind, I saw Wales and Ireland in the stadium the same day (63,000 people of visiting Irish and naturally a shit ton of Welsh people). With rugby, you get a spectrum of passion amoung viewers. Being part of the 4000 at Takeover, I've seldom heard such a unified love of what a room saw. Walter and Bate put on a stellar 45 minutes 🤘

One way to make a more fair top ten list would be to break them into categories. Say, ten categories? You could have the top wrestlemania match (a class on its own), the top main card non-wrestlemania match, the top nxt match, etc. You could break them down into tag, singles, titles, and stipulation matches. However you break them down, then take the top one from each category and build your top ten of the decade strictly from those.

Crazy that Cena has a reputation for not being a particularly great worker and yet, 2 of the best matches I’ve ever seen are : - John Cena vs CM Punk, Money in the Bank 2011 and - John Cena vs AJ Styles, Royal Rumble 2017

Personally, I'm a person who likes more charisma, character role and aura in a wrestler than only wrestling skills. E.g. I liked bate vs Tyler more than cole vs gargano even though the latter was rated more 'stars'. Thus matches like Taker vs Michaels, Cody vs Dustin, okada vs tanahashi and nakamura vs zayn really hit me in the feels. For me, both the Taker vs Michaels bouts were the pinnacle of a wrestling match.

It's amazing to see how the landscape of wrestling as changed. This because if you had made these lists in the previous decade, the lists would have been dominated by WWE. Although one could argue that the initiative of Vince McMahon to bring almost the entirety of the wrestling world under the same banner was the biggest and most important moment in wrestling history, it is good to see that variety and the power of choice (between several outstanding promotions) have returned to the wrestling world.

Nostalgia forces many fans to keep thinking the Attitude Era / WCW Era made the 90's the best decade in wrestling, but this decade had so many downs... The last decade was monumental because it made us realize that wrestling is so deep, to the point where good in-ring abilities are not even enough to make a good career anymore. That's how huge this decade was, because it led to changes affecting the whole business itself, not just in the WWE. We have a choice now, and that's really exciting news for the new decade to come.

What about Jeff Hardy vs Bully Ray Lockdown 2013. I know TNA was a huge part of the decade. But I’ve watched most wrestling matches from most promotions and that’s one match that definitely stands out. The Heel Turn was probably one of the best ever. Anybody else remember that?

I think the only mistake of the video is not including the original LU Grave Consequences match somewhere - at the very least honourable mention. It showed that even casket matches can be entertaining.

Surely Undertaker vs Triple H at Wrestlemania 28 should’ve made the list? Admittedly there’s been plenty of more brutal Hell In A Cell matches pre PG Era but the story telling and sequence of late near falls was something else

I love the Cena-Punk MitB match, but I'm in the minority in that I think their match on Raw in 2013 (winner faces the Rock for the WWE title at Mania), was their greatest match. I think it's the 2nd best match of the decade (behind only Michaels-Taker at Mania 26), and the greatest match in Raw history.

Tyler Bate vs WALTER is my favorite match of the year such a great match just like they said it shows how a big guy and small guy can put on and have a great match no matter the size such a great match i loved it from bell to bell none stop action

I know a lot of people are shitting on the inclusion of Bate vs Walter but I’m so happy it is here. It’s my legit favourite match of all time. To me it’s a perfect match. Clear story telling. A building pace as the match continued. A perfect heel face dynamic. Biting and believable near falls. Simple but effective moves. An incredibly hot crowd. It’s just hit everything that makes a perfect match

All in all this a pretty well rounded and fair list. Only problem is gargano and almas not even a honorable mention. But this is why cultaholic is the channel to beat in terms of wrestling and even all around
