●Instead of aerosol cans of cooking oils, I invested in refillable oil sprayers. ●Fancy seasoned/herbed oils, I have 2 different bottles I bought. I just keep refilling with my economy jug of olive oil and more herbs. ●Dollar Tree, (b4 it became any $), found big SoftSoap gentle hand soap, which I added to my Bath and Body showergel (it's $$, unless there is a sale, ❤ sales). ●That Walmart Italian loaf makes great 'French' bread pizza.

I found a pack of candles for 25 cents a few years ago. There are like 40 birthday candles in it and I'm determined to keep using them to the point that my kids fight over who gets them when I die 😅

When my husband worked, he had his dress shirts cleaned at the dry cleaner. I use to save the bags, tie the end and use them as a trash bag. They worked quite well.

I like to use stale bread, etc., to make bread pudding, bread crumbs, etc. I save my plastic peanut butter jars and use them for homemade broth, soups, etc. You do need to completely thaw to dump the contents out, but they save money from buying freezer containers. I make my own cinnamon/sugar to sprinkle on buttered toast. Yum!

I use cereal or packaged snack bags to wrap nasty trash so the trash doesn't smell. We only put our garbage out when full. About a trash bag out to the curb every other week for 2 people and 2 cats. I use bags from litter and dry cat food as garbage bags like you do. I rarely buy trash bags.

I chuckled about you saving & washing the candles as we've done that all our married life too! It's absolutely the little things that add up over time to save a LOT of money! I found out a few years ago that our local council delivers for free 2 rolls of compostable bags annually for the small free compost bucket each household received. I gather I'm 1 of the few who annually requests them!! I write it in my planner for each July! We're receiving more bags than we're using so they're adding to the stockpile. Yesterday we got a free sample box of 20 green teabags to trial from our local supermarket that I bet not many knew about to collect them. I'm all about saving money where we can! 🥰Blessings from South Australia💕🐨

I also buy the French bread or Italian bread when it's on clearance. I top it with mozzarella and pepperoni pop it under the broiler until the cheese browns a little then I cut it in slices and we dip it in jarred speghetti sauce that's been heated in the microwave. Cheap and easy but best of all fast. We are able to eat in about 15 minutes. Sometimes we have a salad with it sometimes we don't.

I take bread heels, leftover hot dog buns, hamburger buns and make bread crumbs. I store it in the freezer so it lasts quite a while.

We are using grocery t-shirt bags, packaging bags, and all the rest for waste basket and the kitchen trash. We transport our own garbage mostly in contractor bags which we do buy. (Actually, we bought a bunch of cintractor's on deep, deep clearance in 2020 at a box store and still have a bit of the last box; we'll see what we do when these are gone and find out what current prices are.) We tie off pur re-used disposable bags and dump in a contractor bag. I also stuff things like peanut butter jars and clamshell type containers with garbage rather than let that unusednsoade tzke up garbage bag room. - We havent purchased plastic indoor garbage bags and liners in decades.

I have never used parchment paper to make cookies or anything else. Somehow managed to cook for 46 years. I use the plastic grocery bags from walmart, etc for garbage for years because I have an unending supply. They hardly put any items in each bag. I even use a 1" piece of scotch tape to seal the tiny holes in the bottom . I save some cereal bags, so I do like the idea of using a kleenex box to store them. I mostly use them to make cracker crumbs. I have only bought garlic toast for company. Leftover buns have been my goto for garlic bread. In winter, when I make bread, without the preservatives it dries out quickly and I grate it and freeze as bread crumbs. I haven't bought a seasoned bread or flour packet for years either. Too easy to make your own. I wash my plastic bags always, but have found some brands have a poor seal and it barely lasts one use. Then you cut the zip off and use with a twist tie. I have cabinets on either side of my sink, so there is a line strung between them to hang plastic bags, always inside out. I guess too many people were not raised with thrifty mothers. But people are very wasteful with their money.
