The rewards in MGS 1 were not “basically nothing” in the context that the game came out in 1999. Cosmetic rewards like that were uncommon at the time and it was a fun little addition.
That’s a really stupid comment. Because resident evil and other games had alternate costumes so no it wasn’t that uncommon. It had no effect on gameplay so it was basically nothing.
I like to think every kid played this game on repeat, so these extra cosmetics were worth wild, like wow theres still more stuff to unlock after the 4th playthrough. Play MGS1 almost daily for a year
@@michaelmiller4105 this is a stupid comment. He meant cosmetic reward who had a side effect like infinite amno. Not like in re where customes didn't really have any side effect. This kinda type of cosmetic was uncommon
One thing about the Blue Wig: It lets you breathe underwater even though you don't swim that much in the game. Not really worth it. The high frequency blade would have been better.
Infinite Face Camo in MGS3 has 2 ways to get it, same with Stealth Camo. Inf Face Camo: Capture the Tsuchinoko alive and keep it the entire game or beat the game with no kills. Stealth Camo: Shoot every single Kerotin Frog toy in the game or beat the game with no alerts.
@@reneshgovender1605 I find, or rather did find no kills just as easy. Maybe not so much anymore because I'm too used to the MGSV controls. Tried going back to the other games and they felt so clunky. 😂
For the stealth camo I'd suggest doing it without getting caught cause you are able to reload a save but save for the frogs it's just with the frogs there is a few hard to hit areas which may prevent you from getting them and it doesn't say if you got the all till the end of the game. My bad for yapping there but hope it helps
i would restart the cycle segments if i couldnt hear the frog becuase you cant assume you shot it only to get noting in the end, thats what made that sauck
@@j.r.6627 Getting the frogs in the chase/motorcycle parts is made easier if you use the rpg. You only need to aim next to it instead of pinpoint. The splash damage counts too.
I'm one of those people that did manage to get the rank of Big Boss on MGS4. It was an unforgettable experience and felt extremely rewarding accomplishing such a feat. Any fan of the series should give it a try!
It really wasn't that difficult. There's guides out there that show you the best route. So all you have to do is save while entering each area and if you screw up you load the save file. I will say though the last fight against ocelot was very difficult
is this a list of hard to get items or just a list of random things you remembered you can obtain? edit: getting stamina from eating the Tsuchinoko is not something unique to that snake, considering that EVERY SINGLE FOOD ITEM DOES THIS! Have you even played the game you are talking about?
same reward as the Patriot in MGS4, but they are easily the hardest items to obtain in the franchise along with the blue wig. getting the Big Boss rank in MGS4 is insanely hard to achieve
@@hatchhyjack i didn't find it that difficult. you get infinite saves so you can save at every single room and reload save if you mess up. i found mgs2 big boss rank wayyyyyyy harder
New outfit for Otacon in MGS 1? U sure?? 🤔 I remember the red Cyborg Ninja/ Grey Fox... I got Big Boss emblem twice. First time in 2008 when i bought my PS3 and later when the game got an update with trophies when i could finally get the plat.
That moment you see the Moss Camo pop out of The End just as the Cutscene is about to lock you out of getting it forever is something that makes me understand what Kaz was getting at. They played us like a damn fiddle! This isn't right, that was ours!
The Tsuchinoko was super easy, barely an inconvenience. Just place a mousetrap and come back to it. I also got all the boss camos and the stealth. It was fun. The only pain were the frogs on the driving section.
Earning the perfect playthrough of MGS4 was still the hardest achievement I've ever done. So worth it! The Big Boss face camo makes for a fun and hilarious playthrough! The one game that came close was S ranking Hardcore in Resident Evil 2 REmake.
Unlocking Raiden in mg35 was a nightmare For those of u who want to get him, here's a tip: if u cant 100% stealth a mission, speed running it is an easy "A" for almost every mission, which is fitting since hes speed based
i think the moss camo is placed far too high, it's relatively easy as you only have to sneak up on the end once and from there you can use thermal or night vision (i forgot which) goggles to follow the footprints he leaves when retreating to another sniping position
back in unemploye age back then in mgs3 the only thing i can't do is finding the kerotan the boss camos is alright i can use save state for it and it quite breeze
the kerotan was horrible but with the gako camo and drictional mic made it alot better i did the big boss emblem 3 time on mgs4 first time i got it my save got courrputed so i did again and when the trophy patch was released did it one final time
Was there a different way to unlock the patriot in metal gear solid four? I know for a fact I had that gun because I always liked the fact that a portion of snake eater would play whenever you would aim it, but I also know I didn’t go through the criteria you just mentioned to get that gun.
the all dog tags in mgs2 will show you a website (but i am unaware of the internet at that time) and I obtained the blue wig unknowingly after that and bigboss face camo is also hard in mgs4
for me impissible to get blue wig i didnt even saw that sh*t. But on mg 4 i did twice big boss and platinum trophy. best game ever. Also metal gear revengence highest dificulty broke me so im not so great gamer.
I had all rewards except the Raiden suit in mgs5 phantom paine, I love the mgs games more with a story not with the mission stuff witch you have to repeat countless times to get an s rank or do special things.... That's why mgs 3 was the best, the keraton/frog stuff was really hard especially the ones that you had to shoot while doing the motorbike escape scene, and of course the no alert, no kill and 5 hour run in European extreme was really hard. But with some tricks like the right outfits and equipment it was way easier. And the tsushinoko was really easy you just had to put some traps in a certain area and you almost got it 100% what really was bad is that you lost it in the waterfall area and you had to catch it again. I renember doing all endings or more precisely all animal symbols at the end of the game. That included eating all things, killing all most everything, kill nothing, but in the end the longest I took was panda symbol it is for finishing the game with a time over 60h or was it even 90h. I remember it was really long.
there is an error, the patriot in MGS4 is unlocked by finishing the game in any difficutly. Whats you get with the Big Boss rank is the "big boss" face camo.
that's not true, the Patriot is the reward you get along with the Big Boss face camo for getting the Big Boss emblem, but the weapon was also obtainable through a code
My favorite thing and I know people are going to be pissed. The metal gear solid 3 subsistence snake versus monkey or whatever it was called. There is a monkey just chilling on the porch of that one building at the beginning of this video. Konami knows what they were doing. 😂😂😂
Got the Patriot on MGS4 the hard way when i was going for the platnium trophy...gave up on the last trophy where you have to click X during cutscenes to see memories. Finished the game after watching all cutscenes and always spamming X....but didnt get the trophy... if you know how long the scenes are you know why i aint trying that again...fml
If I’m correct about this, there are like 1 or 2 instances where you have hidden flashbacks. You have the option to press X to see the flashback but there is no X prompt. One I remember is in act 4 right when Raiden is being crushed by Outer Heaven, you can press X during the black screens even tho there is no X prompt, it’ll show some flashbacks.
@RatedRLoquender I remember constantly pressing the button non stop during cutscenes for that exact reason, but maybe something went wrong 🥲 I'll try again when the next master collection comes out, hopefully sooner then later 🫡
Not impossible. Done all of these. Multiple times. You forgot some even more difficult things. Like All S ranking Metal Gear Rising on hardest difficulty, getting all ipod tunes / emblems MGS4, etc.
The f balista wasnt hard to get i got all of this stuff when they all originaly came out and i was 10 when the original came out. the mgs series is not that hard although i love the series folks just arent that good at it
1:59 are you calling Snake Otacon ? WTF then you dont show an alternative Otacon fit, just Snake and Miss Silverburgh. So is this an AI script? Are you a poser or is there something I'm missing like them designating alternative OTACON AS SNAKE IN TUXEDO? But why not show it in THE VIDEO? SO IS THERE NO ALT OTACON??? but you didnt show alt NINJA fit too....nor infinit face paint....I actually shot every kerotan back in day too
Getting Big Boss in MGS4 isn't even that hard... to say you could play it for 8 hours a day for 10 years straight and still not get it is indeed hyperbole, or you just suck. Getting the top rank in MGS1 and 2 is way harder. 1 is hard primarily because of the Ninja, Liquid, and Metal Gear fights. 2 is hardest because you can't save more than 8 times
