Amazing collaboration, my dude! Thanks again for having me on, there's a couple of new channels I haven't heard of before! I'll be popping by their channels and saying g'day 😎
For me is Galdera on Octopath Traveler 2! Even watching a lot of guides on how to beat him I still get my ass kicked for two weeks before defeat this monstruosity!!!
Wiegraf taught a much younger me the importance of multiple save slots. Restarted, finally beat him, then got worked in the next battle. Riovanes Castle is a trip, man
I personally always save multiple times because I always have the idea: what if I ever want to re visit a certain moment in the game but funny enough I rarely ever use these multiple save files lol.
Thanks for joining the collab and yeah it was fun and the overall video turned great thanks to everyone who participated! ❤️ I hope we can do more of these projects in the future, keep it up as well and have a wonderful day! 😊
Most non JRPG gamers have noooooooo clue how much stuff goes into a major boss fight. The pre set up, who has what orb or what materia, what level, is it linked, what character should heal, which is best at distance, is the boss weaknesses what elements if any. What changes will it make, is your set up set to counter it. Is everyone leveled enough for the fight. And then the fight itself, once in are you doing the right things. Risk a limit now, or give health, etc etc.
I have a HARD hate boner for Colin's pick, they really had us use a new mechanic against the FINAL BOSS, and my forst time playing was on nightmare and you had to play damn near perfectly to win
And yea FFFX had two tough ones that surprised me actually as one said. But I think I was pushing forward to fast in that game, and got caught off guard being too weak.
Re: Cold Steel 1, I actually had a tougher time with V the first time through. I didn't really know how the fight worked at that point and I ended up blowing through zeram capsules/powders and getting my ass kicked. Every time I replay that game, I'm always super worried about that fight, but I never really had a huge problem with it after that, once I knew how the fight worked. Still, I think it was a pretty big difficulty spike, at least for me.
For me hardest boss(Super boss) is Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness. When you defend normal boss it unlocks no game mode and it unlocks battle agains Baal. He haves 5 phases and every time skill is used he turns to immun to that skill.
Great choices all around. I'll admit I struggled against Demon Wall my first time around as a kid too. Yunalesca is a Guide Dang It moment if there ever was one, because no one will intuitively figure out to keep their members Zombies. Weigraf is a super hard one that surprises people too, and there's the hard one right after it as well. Shiva requires an annoying amount of grinding. I've heard of people having a hard time against Mt. Gagazet Seymour when they're still kind of new to jrpgs. edit: Also, I appreciate the spoiler warning for the Trails of Cold Steel game. :)
This is a fun question and it was fun seeing everyone's hardest bosses! It took me awhile to think of one but if i was to choose a boss i'd pick the true final boss of Octopath traveler! Like i don't think there's a word that exsites to say just how hard it is! It's a maddening boss fight!
I never played 1 but I did recently played and finish the second Octopath Travaler game and yeah... I can see it. No idea if the first game final boss is as hard as in the second game. I definitely died couple of time during the final boss of Octopath Travaler 2 and I even used a guide what weaknesses the boss has and which strategies are the best to beat it. So I get it, Octopath final bosses can be very challenging specially if you don't understand the weaknesses and strategy how to beat it.
@@Official_RetroMania The final boss in 2 dosen't hold a candle to the final boss in the first game! It's a horrible boss that seemly beat me into the ground and sent me to the core of the earth to sizzle me into nothing!
Speaking as someone who's a massive fan of both SMT and Kingdom Hearts, Shiva is hard but he's got nothing on the Demi-fiend in SMT V, who has nothing on the Demi-fiend from Digital Devil Saga (which I have not played but given how infamous that fight is for the sheer chance of random death I don't need to). Also, maybe the Lingering Will belonged on a list like this if it were still 2006, but now we have the Mysterious Figure and Yozora who both make the Lingering Will look like an absolute joke (And speaking as someone who's beaten all three, I feel I can say that with some authority).
If you asked any veteran Hardcore JRPG fans, they usually tell you either Demi Fiend in Digital Devil Saga and even his fight in SMT V. Shiva is a PUSSY compared to Demi-Fiend or even Lucifer in SMT Nocturne. You see, even for cheese strats, Demi Fiend in DDS required luck to lock on to the cheese strats. You turn down to the lowest Difficulty? Gae Rage aka Instant Kill (The move did like 5 digits when your max HP was 3 digits.) will initiate. You got Null-All skill on ANY of your party member? Instant Gae's Rage. You will fight Demi-Fiend on his OWN TERM. He can summon his mid level demon, which were WAY STRONGER than they are supposed to be, for help. He got 4 turns instead of 3 turns with his demon in sight. His initial demon got status effect and other got instant Death (Mamudoon) as soon as the fight starts. After the first turn, your party was crippled BEYOND average with various damage and status effect or even DEATH if you got ass evasion roll. Pray to Lucifer that your healer still alive after all of the onslaught to survive another turn until you got to the cheese. The cheese was like very hard to get because you have to kill Demi-fiend first 2 initial demons to get to the Pixie and stuff.
He probably didn't fight against the Demi Fiend because if he did I am pretty sure he would have chosen that one instead of Shiva. Shiva is strong but Demi Fiend is even stronger and even more unfair for sure that fight is literally luck based because he can one shot you if you are unlucky lol. Either way the list is mostly based on a certain persons view point and everyone's list will look slightly different.
@@Official_RetroMania Funny thing was that if you happened to kill his girlfriend, he WILL Gae's Rage as well. Never take out the man's woman. Luckily, she was part of the Red Cheese Strats. The reward for beating Demi Fiend was even more insulting... a FREAKING SOMA!!!! Even the Dev fought him in Debug mode couldn't even kill the guy. LOL
@@zhaoyun255 Never fought him but from what I have seen is pure BS is ultra unfair... Is literally luck fight him 99 times and maybe the 100 try you will win lol.
@@Official_RetroMania Yeah, you also have to be selective around the status effect skill because any Null skill you put on could trigger his Gae's Rage. Resist skill is still ok (Less chance but not 100% like Null) but you have to max out your characters for this fight.
