I regret get anything that contains pleather and soft leather material. They are not hold well and degrade over time. Just avoid it.

Great video idea. I actually think Figure Focus has a good method to avoid situations like this and I’ve personally adapted that method myself. This method has done well to keep me from regretting purchases. Figures I buy should check three boxes; 1. Do I like the character 2. Do I like the movie/source material that the character is from 3. Did the company adapt the figure to my standards

As a big iron man fan, the mk 50 and 85 were 2 suits I couldn’t get myself to get. Idk about u but the reason I started collecting HT is bc of realism and screen accuracy. There’s something about the nano tech technology that just doesn’t translate well into action figure without sacrificing screen accuracy. It’s the same reason why I don’t collect any figures with exposed joints and seams like hulk and venom not bc I dislike those characters. It’s bc if I want those characters I’d much rather get a statue if it means looking more accurate while sacrificing posability.

@@iBeatBoxz8 We’ll have to agree to disagree on your Nano tech Iron Man take. I will however agree with you about figures like the Hulk not having seamless body’s. They do come off more like an action figure toy like that. Even though at the end of the day they’re all toys and not statues.

Mark 47 is one of my favorite HT Iron man armors. Love the unfinished paint look and the head sculpt with EDI shades...chef's kiss imo. With Gamora Vol 2...to me its the dead expression that kills it. If they had included a smirking sculpt and/or a yellow sculpt think it would be a bit more popular. I don't believe I have regretted any of my HT's purchase this year. Now third parties...Buzztoys White Wolf. smh. After waiting so long and getting it in hand it disappointed. It has some positives but overall...mid for me. Thanks for the video and hope you have a safe and fun time celebrating the holidays!

I honestly much prefer the regular armor Thanos, the battle damaged is good, but the damage part on the armor just feels fake and did not put enough work in. So to me Regular armor Thanos > Battle damaged

The worst part about the Mando & Child set is that it didn't even keep any exclusivity after the fact beyond the Camtono and pram, the first instantly left the show since it was just a callback item, and the other got a change in appearance. I bought it knowing the new one was coming for season two but figured it would still be worth it because of the exclusive accessories that I could use later. The whistling bird effect is basically standard now and I thought for sure that would be the main exclusive to have as a swappable piece for future figures.

great topic to cover for end of year, going into 2024, as I think we should alter our habits with each year. Some notable figures I decided to let go, either due to disappointing headsculpt, or really just not fitting well into the theme of the collection: Marty McFly, Sideshow Blondie, Sideshow The Dude, WW84, DX 11 Joker. No regrets seeing them go.

Hmm I've not owned a predator yet, but I've seen them in person. I think those figures are pretty old looking, so I'm actually hoping hot toys revisits og predator.

I literally got that Chrome Mando the day before the new one was announced, lol. I mostly wanted it for the Camtono to go with OG Mando. I still have it, because the resale value is so low it's not worth selling. I also have the Mk 47 on my list, because the 46 reissue eventually came out, which is from the better movie and I prefer the coloring on that one more.

I haven’t ever gotten rid of any figures in my collection and I have a lot. However I do value/cherish some more than others. I do recommend to purchase figures that are important to you and never fall into the realm of fomo collection. My example of this is me wanting to get the soosoo toys Prince figure ( yet I don’t have any other musicians in my collection ).😊

Enjoyed the video! Honestly I really don’t think a diecast Mando will happen though. It’s not practical considering the armor pieces are held by Velcro and even if they switched to magnets the hassle of pieces constantly falling due to weight would still be there. The only reason they’re able to pull it off with iron man figures is because it’s all held together as one with screws

I don’t have any hot toys purchase regrets as I have only purchased one figure AOTC C3P0 this year. I would say that 99.9% of their current offerings will be on facebook marketplace or Craigslist in a year after purchasing. Just flavour of the month releases.

I think I agree with the Moff Gideon. I got mine for a great price tbf but I think I got it in a worry it would become rare and because of the actor it represents instead of the character. Its a nice piece but could easily sell to make space for something else.

Good list. I personally agree with you on Mando. Heck mine arrived and there was the new chrome version up for pre-order. I was like what!!!! I kept both because you know each figure takes about two years to come out. lol.. Do you buy third party 1/6 scale? If so make this same list for it too. Also make a list for the ones you regret not getting!

Similar to yourself I regret purchasing the Mark 50, I managed to get hold of the exclusive HK version but on the shelf with other Iron Man and War Machine figures it just doesn’t fit or hold up. I have the Mark 47 as I haven’t been able to get hold of the Mark 46 yet, I like the different colour scheme and I’d like to display the three version of the Mark 46 as a brother set eventually. Otherwise I am very picky with my figures so I don’t really have any other figure purchase regrets….yet

I need help. The likeness on Moff G 1.0 isn't brilliant. But I like the outfit. On 2.0 the likeness is amazing. But I hate the by the numbers armour/suit with dorky Fett-with-Maul horns and all that. And I'll hate myself for being a sucker but want to get both and put head 2.0 on body 1.0...

My regrets (good figures just prefer to have saved the money for others in retrospect: War Machine Punisher, Iron Man Mk 50, Iron Man Mk 47, the Mando Armorer, Moff Gideon, Death Watch Mando. Of all of them, I feel the War Machine Punisher is the best; I just think it’s too unique and it doesn’t fit my collection. Also, I kind of regret getting the first Miles Morales. Nice figure but it’s just one of those HT figures that reminds me how expensive these figures are. It’s kind of slight for the cost

I’ve bought and sold many figures but the two I truly regretted buying the moment I unboxed them was HT Clone Wars Ahsoka and HT Clone Wars Darth Maul. Absolutely hated the figures. Didn’t enjoy posing them, didn’t like Ahsoka’s bug eyes or Maul’s body. Just didn’t like them overall. Sold them both quickly.

I’ve become more selective with Hot Toys. Seems like their QC is trash and figures are a bit or miss, inconsistency is their biggest problem. I canceled quite a few figures in the last month, Biggest one being the Batman. I decided to go Inart because of that crappy swivel head and peg issue with the sculpted head……..what a shame! But every once in a while they nock it out of the park……the Robo Cop and Mark 3 2.0 are beautiful!!!! I don’t get it…?

Moff Gideon and Deluxe Mando/Grogu for sure. Sold them both and practically gave Moff away for free with the Dark Trooper. lol Captain Marvel (Endgame version). Great visual figure but the suit made her a brick. I only "regret" Repaint Boba Fett because I didn't wait for better deals. lol Can't hate him as he's one of the reasons I moved into 1/6. The Tumbler (re-release version). Still have that for now. Shortest lasted figure I had was ThreeZero Ranger Slayer. What a letdown for such as badass design.

I respectfully disagree about Mando. If you’re a huge fan you’re okay owning all versions. I have the OG bundle of him with the Blurrg & the deluxe version you have at #1. I always planned to get the chrome version when it’s at 25/30% off. Which I’m sure it will be eventually because he was likely over produced and will be in the sideshow storage units for years to come. But like you said, this is “your” list. Good video though.

The worst figures of my collection: R2D2 Sideshow The worse of my collection, cheap materials, super fragile Luke Skywalker Sideshow Head sculpt off C3PO Sideshow cheap materials, fragile Ronin Hot Toys Head sculpt off Bucky (Disney+ series) Head sculpt off Ant-man Horrible head sculpt with the smile Mark 50 Head sculpt off Captain Marvel (2) Articulation super limited by the suit. Iron Spider (Infinity/Endgame) Articulation super limited by the suit. Vito Corleone Neck connector svck$ John Wayne Kaustik Plastik Great figure but the figure fall from the base with magnets. Thor (Infinity w/ Endgame) Articulation super limited by the suit. Anyways, I keep all of them, I do not sale figures.

Observation/Realization - Will has probably sold as many (if not more) figures as he has kept. It's not the way I collect since more times than not, you end up losing money than making it (especially if you picked up the figure at retail) and it's a hassle to sell something each time but based on the size of his figure collection (which is about 40 figures), he's VERY selective about what stays in his collection rather than what comes in. To each's own of course!

I agree these aren't up to scratch but melting them in the microwave and sending them back to Hot Toys in a jar was too far. Lol in all seriousness great topic, I had a few regrets this year too: 1. Hot Toys Carnage 2. InArt Ganfalf 3. Game Toys cloud 4. Iron Man MMS 543 5. Dark Side Anakin 6. InArt Pennywise 7. DX15 Jack Sparrow 8. TMS 51 Mandalorian 9. DX13 Terminator T-800 battle damaged 10. InArt Joker deluxe 11. ThreeZero Drogon Couldn't wait to get rid of them!

My 2 regrets are the original Mando/ Grogu and Boba 2-pack which I bought for retail! Argh! Gandalf may be my biggest regret from 2023. I don't think I'll get it from Spec until March/April and I will most likely have lost all interest in that piece.
