Right? It was one of the few games I had at the time so I spent so long in it getting all the skins and then ol Gobby shows up and I was like "This will look funny swinging around as Green" only to be greeted with GOBLIN GLIDEEEEEEEEEER!
Honestly I am low-key kinda hate myself because I didn't even know about this until now, and I had this game which I can't play anymore because it's broken and too scratched to even work and I still have my Playstation 2 that still works but I can't play this game and I'm annoyed because I didn't know I can play as the goblin himself
Here’s another big one: the secret level in Starcraft. The 2nd-to-last mission in the Brood War expansion pack requires the Zerg to defeat Zeratul’s Protoss forces in less than 30 minutes, which is no easy task in and of itself. But if you do it in under 25 minutes, the game unlocks a Protoss level that shows Zeratul’s departure and a final encounter with Duran, who reveals that his actual mission is to create a Zerg/Protoss hybrid. It also explains why Duran’s otherwise-unexplained absence from the final battle.
It wasn't hidden but it wasn't common knowledge either because no one read game modules. Just like no one knew that the bricks you break in the original Mario Brothers tied with Duck Hunt are citizens of the Mushroom Kingdom transformed
@@jasonwethy8360everyone read the manual back then. Had to do something with the game on the drive back, or while killing time after opening presents but before being allowed to play.
There was an extra "secret" on Mortal Kombat on Megadrive (Genesis) too, if you enable to "cheat menu" you can flag the shadow to always appear and use first background to arrange it so the pit stage appeared during the endurance 2v1 match. Then if you get a double flawless/fatality/no block you fight reptile AND a weird bugged out version of whoever was second in the endurance match with half their colours palette swapped green and a messed up move set. It was odd.
I stumbled upon the Snake Eater easter egg in the coolest way. If Snake has a bat in his inventory and calls Para-Medic, he'll let slip that he's scared of vampires and that they give him nightmares. Later in the prison, if you save the game, Para-Medic will talk to Snake about the movie Dracula, which freaks him out. On a hunch, I restarted the game and, lo and behold, the secret nightmare minigame! God bless you, Hideo, you beautiful, crazy man.
In the second level of the Area 51 mission in Perfect Dark, at the top of the first elevator, go left and you can get a keycard from one of the guards. Don’t kill him! Shoot his gun from his hand and disarm him. This card opens up the door behind him where you can pick up the alien pistol, and view the past level layout through a window! I think the pistol is called the Phoenix, but don’t quote me on that.
The duck hunt "secret" isn't a secret. People just forgot about it because of new consoles and games. If I remember correctly, the case even said two players on it...
@@spoonshue I guess I'm an exception, as I read the manual whenever I got a new game. So yes, I did know about this one. ...Almost never played that way, but still.
It's an engagement trick to get people to comment on videos and increase its place in the algorithm. RU-vid actually recommends it to increase said engagement.
Reptile was *widely known* about almost immediately after Mortal Kombat came out. All the gaming magazines were hinting towards him back then, and he was the talk of the school yard. When I rented the game back in 4th grade, my buddies and I tried to unlock the fight against him, and eventually managed to do so.
No... Reptile wasn't almost immediately known about when Mortal Kombat was first released. You need to understand that console versions of Mortal Kombat didn't come out for OVER a year after the arcade version. That first year in the arcade made this one of the most cryptic games at the time. Fatalities were found on accident. Reptile was added until revision 2. So any of us in the arcade who played the game in and out wouldn't so much as ever see a hint of Reptile because he simply didn't exist.
I played and loved Spider man 1 on PS2 and do indeed hate myself for not knowing about the playable Green Goblin, however I also regret getting stuck on the Shocker subway tunnels.
YEAH THEY NEED TO GET RID OF THIS GUY NARRATING ITS JUST NOT WORKING. ANNOYING VOICE, UNNECESSARY INFLECTIONS MISS PRONOUNCING THE NAMES OF GAME CAHRACTERS.

Oh I knew about the ducks in duck hunt alright. I used to screw with my friends when I was a kid because they didn't. They'd be up there tryna shoot and I'd be back behind them using the controller to make the ducks go crazy. They could never figure out why I was laughing my azz off so hard. Thought I was just laughing at them sucking. Ahh. Good times... I also knew about Green Goblin. Just thought I'd throw that in there lol.
1. You could’ve learned about the duck hunt player control duck if you… Check notes… Read the instruction manual 🙄 2. I figured out you could play as the goblin way back when I got the game which probably would’ve been no later than 2004 Probably more like 2003
Rogan was not responsible for discovering the Duck Hunt 2P mode, just popularizing it. My cousin and I even figured that out when we were single digit ages (I'm 30) and never played it any other way again. Seems like it was probably one of those things where the people who knew figured it was common knowledge.
The second player controlling the ducks wasn't a big secret that Seth Rogan accidentally discovered. I imagine a lot of people probably found this out like I did, while waiting your turn to play duck hunt at your buddies house.
My brother and I figured out the duck hunt secret by accident while renting the game. And I still have my launch copy of Snake Eater so I need to get on that nightmare section. The Mortal Kombat Reptile deal was awesome back in the day. A bunch of us would hang out at the cabinet and discuss the rumors we had heard until we figured out how to access Reptile. Talk about a celebration when we achieved it and the owner was just as invested as we were to the point he unlocked it so we could play for free as long as we bought snacks and drinks. Now those were the days!
OMG thank god for this video “ number 8 snakes’s nightmare” I thought this was a fever dream I SWEAR I couldn’t even remember what game this happened in up until 5 mins ago all I could remember was I once played a game that for some weird reason turned into a hack n slash game in grayscale OUT OF NOWHERE😂 I should have known it was a video Kojima game

Reptile code: Hop on one leg while running under the moon while not using shampoo after 4 weeks while having a set score and not dying but only if u see the witch on Wednesdays. 🤦🏿♂️
How did people not know about controlling the ducks? My friends and I figured it out back in the late 80’s when we first got a Nintendo in the neighborhood and we where all under 10
Some RU-vidrs pronounce things wrong on purpose because it gets people to comment on the video telling them that they mispronounced something and/or correcting them. Giving them more comments than they would’ve gotten if they didn’t mispronounce something. More comments=more recommendations for said video which equals more views and therefore more add revenue. It used to bug the hell out of me until I found that out. Now even if it’s on accident I still just think it’s on purpose for that reason 😅
10:50 - Oh, so like Turok 1's cheat code called "Pen & Ink Mode"... Which oddly isn't accessible in the remaster for whatever reason alongside a small handful of other old cheats.
I suggested the Green Goblin code on the FGS channel that Jules is a part of that they used on their video! Blew my mind when I was younger, such a fun idea!
And It Is Scorpion Not Scorpio Your Thinking About Zodiac Symbols This Is A Mortal Kombat Game If You Did Not Know That At The Start You Should Have Looked It Up Before You Made This Video And I Also Used To Use The GameShark Codes For Both PS1 Spiderman And Its Sequel Spiderman 2 Enter Electro Used Invincibility Unlimited Webbing Unlock All Costumes Unlock Everything On Both
When Spider-Man came out, GameFAQ's was around, how did you not know when the game came out? edit: oh, nevermind. Didn't realize how young you were lol...I was in my Senior year of H.S. when it came out. I guess I'll give you a pass kid lol
I Remember As A Kid Playing As The Green Goblin As Soon As The Game Originally Came Out Along With The Unlimited Webbing And Invincibility And All Costumes Code Also The Codebreaker Codes
Churning out the content recently...this was bad. Like ragebait bad. I'm commenting so hey I guess it worked but was it written by AI? also Ewan sounds a bit different. AI model trained on his voice? I generally enjoy the content, has been suggested to me a lot more recently by the algorithm. But the recent content... especially this one was poor. None of these were novel or interesting
I've known the first secret for years. Found out about it when playing with my dad. He was shooting and I started fumbling with the controller when I found out I was controlling the ducks and making my father miss every shot. Damn, was he pissed when he realized it.
I discovered by accident that Glenn in Chrono Cross has the ability to wield twin swords after getting Dario's sword from his grave on the home world. Imagine my surprise upon discovering neither of those facts are common knowledge.
im sorry you were expecting people to be shocked about the duck racing? I hope not, because that is old as hell and probably everyone knows that. I didn't play any SHamue game and knew about it...
I kinda knew the duck hunt thing when it was released, was playing with my sis when I noticed that whenever I press right the duck would go right somehow. Although that moment was shocking really. Snake's nightmare, I thought it was part of the game and unmissable, the others on the list, I had no idea they existed to this day.
Who remembers down up left left a right down and abacabb, In regards to not knowing about all the secrets in video games in the early '90s my dad worked at a corporation and they had internet and so my friend and I periodically would go to work with my dad and download all the codes and cheats and then print them thank you game revolution
Well it’s what culture. Kinda the worst of the gaming community. I mean how do you not know you can unlock green goblin in the first spider man game on ps2
Pretty sure spider man ruined my expectations going forward with bonus content in games. Or i guess just raised the bar that much that nothing short of whole dlc style extras felt good enough to unlock lol
The 3rd chapter from Persona 5R. Landing on your feet when you’re thrown in EVERY SINGLE Streets of Rage game. I lost 100s of lives throughout the games not knowing this until about 2011. SOR4 was a blast and I was ready.
