The best part of the Hamill-Jones issue was Mazzagatti asking Hamill if he was okay to continue, then stopping the bout when Matt didn't respond... Because he's literally deaf.
Hes deaf not dumb. He clearly knows how to read lips (like most do) and use context clues. Plus we know he can respond. Have you not seen him do interviews?
For real tho. How much mental toughness does it take to recover from that triangle and having the title slip away and be able to go out in front of the media and put on a show of arrogance with all of the clever excuses for the fight and the TRT he got popped for post fight.

I saw a tweet from John McCarty a couple years ago when he said that Hamill actually had his shoulder dislocated after a TD from Jones and that the fight could have been stopped there without the unnecessary damage and the DQ.
It’s a weird one tho, because Big John came out with this, there was no follow up, no confirmation by any parties and nothing done with it. Feel like it wasn’t true
@@kieran5246 I use to be a huge jbj fan and I remember this fight well cause he loss and 100% Hamill said his shoulder was dislocated and couldn’t continue when they tried to reset, will try and find the footage.
3:32 I literally experienced the exact same injury. Threw a wild overhand and my shoulder dislocated. Hearing that Aldo continued kicking his arm after that happened made me wince in pain I can’t even imagine how bad that shit hurt.
Dislocated my shoulder recently, still in a sling; had to wait 7 hours to get it popped back in - can’t imagine getting kicked in it. Yes, it sucks very bad.
since you're also adding a 5th round injury after Aldo basically won 3 rounds and on his way to win via UD why didn't you add the 1st round Mcgregor leg injury ? and since you're also adding DQs how come you didn't mention the Aljo DQ win which gave him the world title !

Haven't been a jon jones fan since his craziness a few years back but he got robbed against Hamill, he dominated the fight until the dq, and is flawless in his fight career

I dislocated my shoulder when I was 12 and crashed my friends motorbike. My left arm was in my armpit instead of the shoulder socket, it looked longer than the other. I went home and pretended nothing was wrong and went to bed as soon as I walked in the door. The next morning I screamed putting on my shirt, my dad came to see and with my shirt off he could tell right away my shoulder was dislocated. He grabbed my shoulder and arm and said this is gonna hurt, he pulled on it and I passed out from the pain, he got it back in. It was second only to breaking my collarbone for pain.
The hughes newton fight is actually right because newton held onto the fence just long enough for the choke to work, matt would have slammed him sooner had newton not done that. And yes it was illegal at the time to grab the fence.

Yo, too harsh on Steven Bradbury. That guy definitely earned the gold. His career was plagued with injuries and more and he knew his only chance was to hope they had a tumble at some point. He may not have truly earned it in that race, but he definitely earned it for all the years he put into the sport to have even got a shot at the gold

I saw at least one version of the Hammill v Jones saga claim that the fight was stopped because Matt - a profoundly deaf man - didn't respond to Mazzagati's verbal "can you continue," asked from a spot where the Hammer couldn't see Steve-O talking to him.
