Leyndell couldn't have survived granssax by they own. They had to be helped by the outer gods to defeat granssax. This dragon was as big as the capital and it was made into stone. No wounds, only a god could do that xd
@@Jirafoide2000 bro we are a human that has the power to revive and we kill things no mere man should be able to kill even with this power plus a dragon that size is just a bigger target to hit meaning the big artillery could easily smash though his scales
@@cthulhuisgamer373 the body of this dragon hasn't any wounds. That means everything that tried to do damage him was useless. It was the end of leyndell if the outer gods wouldnt helped.
@@chrismeandyou They actually won because they had huge healthpools and avoided the arrows frequently, along with hyperarmored leap attacks, plus every main boss has AoE attacks.
Gideon being in a constant state of dodge rolling and being comedically sent flying back a hundred feet by an arrow is the funniest thing i’ve seen all day
That one dude rushing the Elden Beast with his sword and shield while the others stayed behind, and the beast actually targeting the great shield dude… it felt personal.
The captain: "Have you gone mad, get back into position." Lone soldier: "We won't win at this rate, I'll give you a clear shot. Avenge me brothers. AVENGE ME!!!!"
Morgott dodging the initial volley, the knight who was singled out by Astel being the one to take him down, and Hoarah Loux being taken out by a guy rushing in with a sword, are all amazing moments
10:18 Gideon casually sidestepping both volleys while he drinks his flask is badass, shame the rest of the fight is just him panic rolling and getting bodied
I love the knights in this game they found a way to make each regional knight unique all while keeping a constant look like they were all a part of the same military at one point and it makes me way to see all the different knights work together like think of it godrick cuckoo redmane and halgtree knights working side by side
Turns out all that was needed to save the Lands Between are a group of well-trained well equipped professional soldiers ... That's actually quite realistic 😅 As long as they don't mess with time frozen ancient dragon lords or crazy rot infected killer ladies they will be fine.
physics is so amazing in this game like the force of those arrows stopping a full weight body mid air is just too awesome and also how each of the knights seems to have their own distinct characters and priorities
13:10 I respect this man so much. He died so that his brethren might live and defeat the Eldritch beast before them. The legend was felled, yea, but a new one was created in its stead.
It’s his first phase he just sits there and let’s everyone hit him and his second phase he starts dematerializing and then RKO’s you out of the sky doing like 2k damage per hit
It’s amazing in this case too, since his tele-swipes seem JUST outpace the knights’ reloading animation-he had little margin for error once he had it down to the last four and made the most of his windows of opportunity Efficiency Lord Placidusax
There's almost a beautiful story to be found here. A world where the Tarnished never came, and where a cadre of knights took it upon themselves to do what needed to be done. They had no way to level up, all they had were their brothers and the strength of their sword (and bow) arm.
It is easy to forget, but in lore these guys were supposed to be only step below demigods themselves in standing. And noble families of the capital each (maybe Haight and Marrais as well) claimed such knight as an ancestor by description on Aristocrat's Coat. So if demigods are royalty, these guys produce all the dukes, counts and barons.
I like how Malenia survives the first few rounds because she's one of the few bosses to actually dodge the arrows. Superpowers: Waterfowl Dance, the rot nuke everyone runs into, and being able to move a few feet to the side.
You forget the life steal. Without the lifesteal she would be dead the total damage she healed was enough the save her from getting killed. It would be nice of fromsoft to add an item that completely deletes her lifesteal while you use it just to rub a big fuck you to Malenias face.
@thecompetitor4418 She didn't. She dodged once, twice but then got porcupined. Morgott dodged and sliced and went on attacking. Rotussy only won thanks to phase change and Aeonia ultra.
at the start of the Radahn fight, I genuinely felt like they were all going to die, but after seeing them clock him for 1/4th his hp was so hysterical. Man I love/hate Leyndell Knights, those guys strike some fear of grace into someone.
Man I love the execution squad vibe that starts (and almost ends) almost every fight :D Also, the fight with the fire giant goes a long way towards explaining why they went extinct, lol.
This is my favorite of your series. It had a real Band of Brothers feel to it. Jesus, they didn't need a Tarnished chosen one, the Lyndell Knights just needed a competent commander with a clear battle plan.

its a sorry things that the only ones that could do something are in the bad lands, being a puppet for an outer god or death in the Lyndell assault
They kinda did Thats why lyndell didnt fell and Radagon throne remain untouched for centuries despite other demigods best effort. It was to a point that marika start to enlist outsider tarnished
Carian knights would be an interesting example, since in-lore there was less than twenty of them, yet they were "match for even the champions of gold in battle".
5:42 is my favorite of all of these videos, its was cinematic af Placi just vanishing into thin air, then reappearing in the sky with that red lightning and destroying the knight army was just flawless.
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾Thoroughly enjoyed watching that. Preparing to play Elden Ring, I’ve been looking at videos and this one by far was the best. You end up rooting for the bosses in some fights and of course honoring the land-bound knights who fall. Honorable mentions to those bosses who fought bravely or refused to fall: @2:28 Morgot came to fight to the death, and died 😅 @5:28 The Dragonlord would have none of it, showing his prowess in flight, speed, and strength, and killing all 11 knights standing. @8:14 Mohg falls, yet while wearing a crown of arrows stands once again as many fighters knowing the end is near yet with true courage have. We have all been in his place 😂😂😂 @8:53 Malenia fell, but in phase 2 defied all those arrows which covered every part of her body and told them knights they better go get LMSH @10:03 😂😂😂 Sir Gideon is 😂😂😂 he’s us trying to survive long enough to get at least one hit in. Using the health potion was impressive and he adapted after taking so many arrows. He got moving quick and, realizing he wouldn’t be able to heal, dodged and charged with pride to the end 😂😂😂😂😂 Honorable knight: 12:33 the One Leyndell knight who knew his destiny had finally arrived and ran forward as a fierce sacrifice, falling only after distracting and damaging the Elden Beast while his fellow knights fired countless undefended arrows and killing the beast as redemption. All others enemies had too little poise or resistance to the knights’ arrows and/or were brutally slain by the swords, arrows, and shields of the knights in mere moments 😂😂😂 Great video 🥂
I enjoyed how climactic Malenia's battle was, the glorious last stand of a swordmaster against an elite regiment, while on the other hand Placidusax is just 'How much lightning can I blast these bastards with before they get me'.
@@TgfkaTrichterThe lifesteal is an intended mechanic, deal with it. They even came up with a great lore explanation. And her lunging to and fro, dancing and striking, desperately using all her strength and guile to overcome elites who surround her is a joy to watch anyway.
@@Count.Saruman she is a poorly designed boss and no lore explanation changes that and btw: does this lore explanation also explain why she steals life even when she does zero damage?
@@TgfkaTrichter I find her very well-designed. She has adequate telegraphs that aren't too long, her moveset doesn't feel clunky, there aren't any obnoxious delays and she has several weaknesses. The only problems are the rng, and the animation-cancelling kick. Overall a very well made and fleshed out boss, but below the quality of Maliketh, Mohg and Godfrey. As for her lore, yes, it does. It's not her health, it's her 'morale'. Her spirit of resistance lets her keep fighting. To defeat her, you have to do so perfectly and thus break her will. Every hit she lands adds to her determination to destroy her enemies.
@@Count.Saruman it is still BS. Sorry, Malenias life steal is only there, to make her as hard as possible and that this mechanic would make her absolutly awful to fight for people who like strong shields, was not taken into consideration. Actually seing someone blocking her entire BS dance attack without taking a single point of damage should shatter her spirit on the spot, but no, it heals her for 30% HP+. FS does give a shit about lore when making up stuff like this. The lore is a afterthought at best. Don't believe me? Just look what they have done to some magic spells in the past. They have nerfed endgame spells, that were obtained through long sidequests and were held by the most powerful wizards into oblivion, so that you cannot even use them anymore. That shows how much FS cares about the lore, when it comes to balancing. Oh and do you also have a lore reason why they forgot to give us Torrent in the final battle? ER bosses are cheap and most of them are not well designed and Malenia is the queen of BS. Just cheese her with some of the many broken weapon arts and go on. She does not deserve anything else. If you want to fight a good hard boss, play Sekiro instead.
That was cool, saw a similar one for a Dark Souls game but it was all the bosses in a pit fight. Might have been your video! If the Knights didn't stick so close together they would be unbeatable.
@@loliking2763 I'm not refering in a lore perspective way but gameplay way, he does have a decent chance againts most bosses even for his low stats, lots of videos out there assure this.
@@albertooliver4585 of course he has. He does high damage and moves around like crazy, so that most boss attacks don't hit him. He is also one of the only bosses, who can get away from AoEs.
I think the only reason they didn’t absolutely obliterate dragon lord was because they grouped up when he teleported allowing some massive aoe hits that otherwise would have left some of the knights alive
