In this video we will be talking about 10 Life Lessons From Friedrich Nietzsche. Friedrich Nietzsche’s work is revolutionary, aiming for a “re-evaluation of all values”. He was one of the biggest precursors of existentialism.
So with that in mind, here are 10 important lessons that we can learn from Friedrich Nietzsche -
01. Be a harmonious totality
02. Avoid having a reactive life
03. Avoid holding resentment towards others
04. Don’t blindly follow the Masters
05. Find your Why
06. Suffering can make you stronger
07. Avoid being just “busy”
08. Live dangerously
09. Become a Superhuman
10. Happiness is the way you approach your goals
I hope you enjoyed watching the video and hope these 10 life lessons from Friedrich Nietzsche will add value to your life.
Friedrich Nietzsche was a German philosopher, poet, essayist, and cultural critic. He is considered to be one of the most daring and greatest thinkers of all time. His writings on truth, morality, language, aesthetics, cultural theory, history, nihilism, power, consciousness, and the meaning of existence have exerted an enormous influence on Western philosophy and intellectual history. He was one of the biggest precursors of existentialism, which emphasizes the existence of the individual person as a free and responsible agent, determining their own development through acts of will. By his famous words “God is dead!”, Nietzsche moved the focus of philosophy from metaphysics to the material world and to the individual as a responsible person for his own life. Friedrich Nietzsche wrote several books like The Birth of a Tragedy, Human, All Too Human, The Dawn, Thus Spoke Zarathustra, Beyond Good and Evil, Twilight of the Idols, The Will to Power, The Antichrist, and many more. His teachings have shaped the lives of many people; from psychologists to poets, dancers to social revolutionaries.

Interesting thought. I have felt too complacent lately and a thought that came to me was “you need to break yourself Francine, before you allow others to break you”. I realized all my growth from brokenness, has happened as a result of things others have done to me or that have simply happened. I am learning to break myself instead, and recreate myself out of my broken pieces that I have chosen.
@melodyal3357
@melodyal3357 2 года назад
@@francineleach6841 I am in the similar phase now and can identify with your words. Wisdom is often found in the book, in own experience and the answers are within us. There is one interesting saying I've heard long time ago. I don't remember exactly how it goes, but thought is something like this: ,,Maybe who you have become is not who you are supposed to be. It's not about who you have become because of what they (people, society, bad experiences, pain, etc..) made you to be, but about UNLEARNING everything you knew in order to find real you." I think the real answer is hidden in how we were when we were kids - before life knocked us down, before we started to listen to adults more (who are lost as we are..) and less our inner voice, in things that made us happy and hopeful. I think answers are there.

10 life lessons from Friedrich Nietzsche. 1. Be a harmonious totality. " One must still have chaos in oneself to be able to give birth to a dancing star. " Each of us have two main sides to our personality: a rational, conscious and responsible (Apollonian side) & Instinctual subconscious and emotional (Dionysian side). One has to balance both to have a happy life. It is a balance between organized, responsible and logical life & artistic, creative and emotional life. 2. Avoid having a reactive life. " Most humans distract their thoughts, to cease to be aware of life." Be brave enough to face the reality and fight the obstacles. Stop being a passive spectator and take our lives in our own hands. 3. Avoid holding resentments. " To be incapable of taking one's enemies, one's accidents, even one's misdeeds seriously for very long- that is the sign of strong, full natures in whom there is an excess of the power to form, to mold, to recuperate and to forget." Resentment is a poison and slave mentality that can consume us deeply. When somebody becomes a threat, take the immediate and necessary steps against that person and afterwards move on, forget and do not keep any resentment. Avoid arguing for your limitations and keep going towards your goals. Build yourself up instead of complaining. 4. Don't blindly follow the masters. "Don't just swallow the wisdom of the past masters of philosophy. Rather, strive to build your own path appreciate the masters from the past. But don't just follow them blindly." 3 paths- crossroads. 5. Find your WHY. "He who has a "Why" is life can tolerate any how." Look at the mirror and see whether you are able to feel respect to yourself. If so then you have a why to live. 6. Suffering can make you stronger. "One that can't distroy me, makes me stronger." Each events of life teach you something new. 7. Avoid being just busy. "Men fall into two groups, slaves and freemen. Whoever does not have 2/3rd of his day for himself is a slave." 8. Live dangerously.🔥 9. Become a superhuman. Be a bridge. 10. Happiness - Say yes to the valuable.

Wonderful ideals from my great great uncle 🙂 I went through all of my childhood and teenage years asked by various teachers and professors if I was related to Friedrich. It wasn’t until my early twenties that my Grandfather told us that we were direct relatives, and when he moved to Canada, he dropped the “Z” from our name so he wouldn’t be associated with Nietzsche. My Grandfather felt rather uncomfortable knowing that people might associate him with these, in his terms “crazy ideals”. So, pleasantly surprised, my maiden name is Nietsche. I wish the “z” wasn’t removed! I guess there was an underlying reason why I wanted to major in philosophy 🙂

These are great tips, but remember Nietzsche also gave us a warning. He knew the imperfection of humans and how deeply prone to bad ideas we are, and when left to creating our own justifications we are capable of tremendously evil acts and self-centerdness. Therefor have something good outside of yourself to keep your actions and behavior just. “He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And if you gaze long into an abyss, the abyss also gazes into you."

I enjoyed he overview. Nietzche’s philosophies seem to explain why my rather nonconformists life has led to a view that life has been beautiful. Even now, at nearly 75, I approach life much like Nietzche has outlined. I only really get angry with those who can never trust investing in others who are different , who are not just like them. We learn by empowering others. Trust is not always verified, but those who fail to see happiness as a process that always includes others, risks investing in others, are typically pretty boring and unsuccessful, walking dead, never very happy.

If's a good reminder that life isn't just about fun, games, joy and mushy stuff but also about overcoming all kinds of struggle....It also saves you from fairy tale thinking....Especially with regard to relationships. Edit: No one escapes crap but you can also grow flowers in crap.

@Alex Thistle yeah I agree, radical atheists that I have encountered are just people who plagiarize scientists and are more close minded than anyone else. It's better to not be a part of any group and to be true to yourself and what you believe in. That is, exploring what interests you and creating your own beliefs. Having conversations with others who believe different things is always good and eye-opening.

Especially since now, our oppressions are such insignificant trivialities. Nietzche's philosophies would really help to separate what should and shouldn't be addressed. I think we nowadays just compete to have the 'toughest' forces working against us when really it is ourselves that hold us back for the most part.

Re: resentment. I had spent a number of years being resentful of harm done to me. I was listening to Tool's "The Grudge" for the nth time and I finally got it. I was the victim of my resentful thinking, and I *could let it go*. I managed to lift a large weight off my psyche that moment. "Battle not with monsters..." Great presentation of some of the reasons I find Nietzsche to be my favorite philosopher. He retains the hope and joy which later existential philosophers seem to discard.

Embrace death - it happens to everyone - you can't escape it Stop worrying about what others think of you - you can't control their thinking No matter what your characteristics - there'll always be haters My biggest worry (a fate worse than death) was that people will think me stupid Then I realised that I am stupid (or can be in many ways) So what does it matter if they think it? It's true at least some of the time 😊

The soul is like water. When dirt and impurities are added to water, it becomes cloudy and difficult to see though. Likewise when the soul is unclean it looses vision of God. When we confess our sins and ask Christ for forgiveness with sincerity, He purifies our souls, and in time if we perceiver we receive "THEOSIS" . A state of illumination in which we "see God " and become united to Him. Its a state of ecstasy.
