6:17 well, Poland was also on the allies side, polish people cracked the enigma, literaly ww2 only happened because the allies guaranteed Poland's independence but did nothing when the soviets attacked and after the war they recived the same "reward" as axis countries (Hungary, bulgaria and romania) get as punishment (soviet occupation), so if anything this french map is very possible

6:23 so a similar situation almost happened in French Indochina (Vietnam in particular): after WW2, the Republic of China (KMT-led) poured a million troops into Tonkin (North of VN) under the justification of "disarming the Imperial Japanese Army", as the IJA had took Indochina from France prior to this moment so the newly form Việt Minh government had to negotiate with the French to repel the KMT troops out; who knows what China could do once they got hold of the land - it could very well become Chinese territory like how the North of France joined the Warsaw pact in this scenario

They're basically what-ifs though. The American Transylvania could have been what Kentucky is now. (A funny side effect is that KFC could have been TFC instead, since it refers to Kentucky).

Transylvania actually makes sense as a local name. "Sylvania" means "forest land" which makes sense as an early name. So Westsylvania means west (/of) forest land. And the "Trans" just means across. So "Across the forest lands".

The US is independent and won the war 1812 and controls Canada’s land. So Russia would still sell it to the US since it wasn’t Britain.

The alternate Austria seems to have kept the provinces it already had, which may be why. Bohemia and Lower Silesia also use coats of arms from those regions, while Sudetenland uses symbols from the Sudetendeutsche Landsmannschaft. I'm not sure about Upper Silesia though.

It looks more as though the French Cold War map could be from a timeline where France did that No-No Germany role instead. The Free French state could well be formed from anti-totalitarian dissidents who previously took control of the colonies during the rise of No-No France and later joined WW2.

Transylvania almost became some kind of American territory. Colonial America featured lots of what were basically real estate corporations for settling west of the Appalachians, and the Transylvania Company was one of these, in what became Kentucky. Its neighbor on same map is Franklin, a failed effort to form a state in what became Tennessee.

2:57 I doubt France would even want the territory from Spain as they would know the British would just take it. Also in a world where the British Empire never lost the Thirteen Colonies, they would probably not colonise Australia, or at least not to the same level like they did in our timeline. However, they would absolutely take India. At the time, India was the crown jewel of the empire. Egypt, Singapore, Sri Lanka and more colonies were taken just to protect British trade interests in India. There is no way the British let France or some other power take India. This is not even mentioning the sheer amount of wealth the British had to gain from India.
