This helped alot. I was getting relief but when I was asked to think of a good memory my mind started to spiral abit. I dont have many good memories, so I started freaking out about how because I dont have any good memories i'll never heal. My fear is obviously still very high. It brought up a great subject to journal about later on. Before I heard 'good memories' I was getting relief! So its just another sign this is neuroplastic pain.

Thank you. I was having pelvic pain and started stressing out over what might have caused it. After doing this practice my pain significantly decreased. It's scary to "go into" the pain, but I did and then it lessened. I'll continue this practice whenever I have pain. I can do it anywhere.

So grateful for social media FOR ONCE ! Thank you for putting these up. We all know about pavlovian conditioning (dog and bell and saliva) and we can do this with our own brain in any positive way we choose but it never occurred to me. So grateful to have come across brain training. Whenever I think about work (was immense pressure before becoming chronically ill) it instigated immediate anxiety . I'm aware I need to break that to be able to go back to work / get better otherwise it will be a subconscious block to healing. Any tips or just keep this stuff up?

So happy my content is helpful. Yes, brain retraining, exposure, and nervous system regulation are key when I'm working with people to get back to work.

Would love something like this that's a bit longer with silent breaks, brain fog makes it hard to move so quickly through the noticing and the visualizing. Just a suggestion!

A trick you can use is to slow the playback speed to 1.25x. Works great when you need a slower pace but you like the material 😊

Do you think you can recover even though you have damage to your spine? Like the brain is still stuck and can eventually get out of it? I really want to get out of this pain! For me it’s a combo of DDD, autoimmune, CRPS and fibromyalgia. Are these just labels and meaningless labels?
@painpsychotherapy
@painpsychotherapy 2 месяца назад
This can vary person to person, however we often know now structural abnormalities in the spine do not equal pain. These could be important questions for your doctor. I have successfully treated people with fibro, DDD, and CRPS. Unfortunately I cannot confirm likeliness of if your symptoms are neuroplastic over social media. Sorry to hear about your symptoms.

Great content, thank you.. I have physical discomfort in my legs every night, preventing me from sleeping. Ive committed to this practice whenever this negative energy shows up in my legs. But at times the sensations in the legs does not have negative experience to it, just neutral sensations. Does it make sense to do this type of practice when the sensations are not negative (but in the same region where I experience the discomfort)?
@painpsychotherapy
@painpsychotherapy 2 месяца назад
Good question. Some people find this still helpful with a neutral sensation in the area, as a way to continuing to teach the brain this part of the body is completely safe.

Thank you for all you do on here Tanner. I'm suspected to have CRPS. awaiting diagnosis by Chronic pain clinic. Pain in both feet last summer, then burning too around the time my dad died, as well as moving from walking stick to crutches, and then the burning spread. I have other signs that point towards it too. X-rays & scan looked ok.👍 I'm currently reading ' The Way Out' by Alan Gordon and watching lots of videos on RU-vid, especially yours after subscribing. I seem to be making a tiny bit of improvement. I just wanted to ask if all these methods of self help, somatic tracking etc, should help me the same as someone with straight forward chronic neuroplastic pain? Many thanks for your time if you've read this. 🙏

Sorry to hear about your symptoms. Yes, often pain can be a mix of physical and neuroplastic, and this approach can be useful for the neuroplastic component. Keep going!
