10 Minute Upper Body Strength Training Workout for Beginners & Seniors

Let's tone and build strength in your upper body with this 10 minute workout that uses a light set of dumbbells. I'm using a set of 3 pound weights in this video that's great for beginners and seniors.
After a quick warm up, we will complete 10 different exercises for the arms, back and shoulders for 45 seconds and then rest for 15 seconds. Please go at your own pace and use a weight that is appropriate for you! The workout is completed with stretches that will gently relax your muscles and that are great for working on your range of motion.

I am excited to workout with you. My husband and I do this together and we are in our late 70's and my Doctor is in agreement with this amazing workout for us. It truly feels wonderful afterwards and gives us energy that we didn't have before. Thank you my Dear Mr. & Mrs. M & P Webre

Agree with Moksha- very creative exercises & routine. Love how you begin with warm up/stretching and end with cool down/stretching.

Lauren, you offer the most creative workouts with no unnecessary talks. Every new video is a great event. I've never done such interesting strength exercises. I have a request though. Could you create a couple of seated yoga and pilates with updated, more creative and interesting postures? Thank you.

Thank you for your kind words Laxmi! I think I feel more creative with strength, barre and cardio routines. I don't feel as comfortable making up new postures for yoga. I think yoga is a more niche category. With that said, however, I do have a new yoga coming soon. It's half seated, half standing.

I like the timer & streches even though it was a short one. It's nice to have a few seconds to pause & watch you for what's coming next. The scarecrow is new to me. You get lots of gold stars for creativity and variety! ✨️

I have been doing your upper body and arm workouts for well over a year. I can see and feel (and enjoy getting compliments on the difference). I like the variety, and the fact that I can feel it working different areas. Added to my ever growing list. ☺ ♥ 💪

I added this to a cardio workout. Definitely will save it for future use. I appreciate that you alas show a side view. In the cardio workout I did after this ( not one of your workouts), I couldn’t tell if the instructor was lifting her leg to the back or side bc she only faces forward.

Perfect upper body toning session before doing some basic floor cardio!! I especially liked the unilateral halo, because it worked the back, core and biceps at the same time!!! Nice workout!! 😊👍

Thanks! The larger your dumbbell, the bigger your strength gains will be. It’s Important to start small though and work your way up. So if you are felling your muscles burn a little then yes, you will gain strength. If it seems too easy then you need larger dumbbells. Hope that helps!
