My personal tip: click queue and then go to otzdarvas channel! By the time you get in a game you could finish his 6 hour summary of every perk in dbd. If not you can start his playlist of 50 wins on every killer.
At least on console, queue times are pretty much instant for me for both sides at different times of the day. If you find one side is slow try the other and chances are it'll be a lot faster
Trapper bag is now basekit. Update to Addon trapper bag: ~Now allows you to carry 2 extra traps and start with one extra ~New feature “remove from bag” after placing a trap, the trapper must ready a new trap, action takes 4.0s and movement speed is reduced to 3.8m/s while readying a new trap from the bag 🙃
I mean, there was plenty of reasons to hook someone rather than leaving them slugged. Survivors have all reasons to try to turn things around. If survivors are too resilient, your answer is to start hooking. You're delaying the inevitable in the most boring way because you keep 2 or more survivors on the floor, which is by far the most boring gameplay that exists in the game.

I think being that good and having a stream on it helps a lot in respect to being patient... I mean, he kills them all but still gets frustrated. That's a testament to this game.
funny cause ive never used ds, unbreakable. only used bt for a dumb challenge maybe one game every 20. what are the other perks? sprint burst? dead hard? iron will? spine chill? balanced landing? lithe? lucky break? any means necessary? bruh there are so many...so can i be mad when every killer has hex ruin and undying or devour hope and bbq or nurses...dont be a douche...
This is what happens when a casual game pretends to be a competitive game. Only a handful of perks can be used in "competitive" settings for both sides. In the end on high ranks, everyone is using the same perks, which is very very very boring for me to play as and play against.
I recall a video of a Diablo 3 player, who wanted to fight the 3 Ubers, one after another. He was at max character level, and the highest game difficulty of Torment. Most importantly, it was a Permadeath account. His save is deleted for dying. So I’m excited to watch. All that incredible gear he farmed endlessly. The countless hours. He is ready for the hardest bosses, in a row. And death is permanent. The ultimate test. 20 minutes of Magic Hammer spam. He did it. Lord knows how much time and effort was put in, so he could stand next to an Uber, and hold down attack. I’m only pointing this out as an example that crosses over to your comment. Once you’re in the elite and competitive realm, much of the fun and flavorful get distilled down to only what is proven. And that repeating it can be so dull.
If a game is played against other people, it is, by definition, competitive. Regardless of how casual a game is, there will always be people who want to do everything to win, just as there will always be people who think the game should be "chill, because it's not competitive". Doesn't matter if it is Chess, Counter-Strike, Mario Kart, Football, Scrabble, or Tic Tac Toe. Play how you want to. Your opponent will as well.
@@alexmoch6914 I want to play with people on my skill level with more skill variety. It's like Dota competition only has 10 heroes that are picked, and all item is fixed. I literally cannot do anything if I did not run any gen regression perk because the game is over in a snap.
@@SomeIdiota I have been playing for very nice for the past 6 months. I do not use ruin + undying, I did not kill anyone and let everyone go, and even my most used addon on Bubba is speed limiter. I let survivor farm bp by stunning and etc at the end game and everyone leave with high BP. I have a special rule where I will kill toxic player. Normally, the rating I get is "Brutal killer", which will not do anything to my rank. Excluding some player killed themselves on hook or teammate failed to save them, yet I am now rank 5. I am somehow gain ranks under my own stupid rule, you know what that means?

Dude, videos like this are what motivate me to keep playing. I swear I have games where everything goes wrong and I just want to yeet my PC but knowing other people have these issues too is so encouraging.
you can get away with not using them, if you have S tier killers that can get around the map incredibly quick, if you want to use killers that dont have any power to go faster, you basically have to or suffer the curse of prove thyself and toolboxes, also you are basically not allowed to use a killer brand new at lvl 1 with no perks or add-ons because you will just fucking lose, at least with a survivor you have 3 other people that might help you
@@reddog9110 usually using one single perk as survivor will also get you killed, it's not just with killers at the same time you can kill everyone with one perk and survive with one perk too
On the Nemesis clip I half expected the zombie to go "fine, I'll do it myself" and hit her into the hatch, but in hindsight I don't even know if that works.
After countless hours of watching otzdarva, i decided to play my first killer match. I moonwalked a red rank Ash. He DCed. My proundest moment. Thanks Otz!
Just wanted to come in and comment to let you know I just bought DBD, and I decided to make Huntress my main for now! I've been watching your videos for a while, but thought that I wouldn't enjoy playing myself. Now I know there are few things more satisfying than getting all four survivors on hooks. I'm also kinda surprised how nice people seem to be in chat. I had one guy tell me I sucked and when I told him he was right and I was new he gave me a bunch of tips. Honestly, there's some great satisfaction when the goal is more about having fun than trying to sweat all the time. I'm glad I jumped in and joined. Thanks for the videos!
The nurse game was the textbook example I use for, “Literally the strongest killer in the game struggles with how many get out of jail free cards survivors get.”
Killers change perks far more often .. Mainly because the killer “meta” is easy to counter just do totems. As you saw in the clip it’s no countering DS, BT, and DH especially when survivors abuse them. Not to mention Adrenaline, Deliverance, Small game to help find totems tending killer hex perks useless on top of maps and horrible RNG spawns. Oh yea can’t forget the good ole abundance of pallets
@@Cepheus773 Are you dumb or new to the game? Before the nerf people would heal, do a gen, totem all that in the killer face even body block because they knew all they had to do was hit DS. Not to mention standing at the exit gate to hit the last minute DS are you dumb or new?
@@nightraindrop3890 I can just tell yo goofy ass have no experience with killer and survivor. Survivor perks in a nutshell: Press E to literally escape. Killer perks in a nutshell: After 30 minutes of being bullied, kick a gen to make it regress a bit more than usual.
Except the killer perks that are actually good that you also see every match. I.e pop, ruin, undying, corrupt. People are always gonna run the best perks the problem is dbd is so unbalanced that there is about 10 viable perks for each side if you are actually trying to win the match.
"being human also means being addicted and bonded to a certain something, which without, survival is impossible to yourself" - Dr. Gabor Mate & "People have two needs: Attachment and authenticity. When authenticity threatens attachment, attachment trump's authenticity." - Dr. Gabor Mate
I wish my random teammates brought ds, unbreakable, bt as often as the survivors that otz goes against. Then maybe they wouldn’t get tunneled and facecamped so often. Ever since the last DS nerf, survivors said “oh no! I can’t hook save and heal myself in the killer’s face anymore! Useless perk!” And then they still get tunneled off hook.
Deadhard is by far the single strongest perk in dbd both killer and survivor side. no other perk is so clutch and ingrained into peoples minds that it makes all killers waste 3 seconds to bait it out for every survivor. No other perk can help you recover from mistakes in loops so well that it functions as a 3rd health state. The amount of applications Deadhard has is just shocking tbh: you can deadhard through beartraps, hatchets, basic attacks, the killer, doctor shocks, clown bottles, nemesis tentacle, punishment of the dammed, victor, shred, deadly vomit, thowing knifes, chainsaws, rushing blight, charging oni, chain spear ect. This perk literally gives you complete INVINCIBILITY and a fast dash to go along with, no other perk does anything close to that level.
@@luu853 You might be right, i got confused at some parts with all the chaos and thought some of the survivors did some action before using DS but nonetheless, since the DS nerf a lot of this situations became less.... common to witness at least, and that's a good thing overall
I love the complaints about certain survivor perks being run all the time but you see the same perks on the killer side. It’s sucks when you take off those perks and get tunneled, slugged, genrush, etc.
At the end of the day both sides can complain about the other side's perks, like how survivors have to deal with bbq, ruin, undying etc and killers have the classic unbreakable and ds and stuff like bt and dh. Honestly you can't really blame the players since why wouldn't you use a really strong build? (Assuming you don't want a challenge). These people should be blaming whoever designed these perks, aka BHVR.
@@krypt0939 I know but it was just funny seeing him complain when he started slugging they had unbreakable, when he tunneled they had ds, all those perks were working as intended. @@absolutereadiness4898 I think both sides find it annoying. I used to never run dead hard but then I started too buts it’s broken on console at the movement so I don’t use it. I use to run adrenaline all the time because it’s a clutch perk but I personally got bored and started running fun perks.
@@ryokiritani4187 You need DS to not get tunneled. You need Borrowed Time to stop your teammates from being camped and tunneled. You need DH to dodge attacks from killers who can appear right on top of you with no warning. 3 of 16? Shut up.
@@headrush8535 where did i say that. where did i even imply that. you do not NEED ds because you wont get tunnelled every game. it HELPS and is a really good perk, but you dont NEED it. and you even less NEED dead hard.
If you wanna hear about something really unlucky… I had played about 20 matches or so over 4 days, and out of those matches I had at least 15 or 16 of them on Haddonfield, Midwich, Hawkins or Léry’s (and a couple Mother’s Dwellings in that too). And I play Huntress. 😶 Another couple were Sanctum, which I just personally don’t like. You can imagine how frustrating it would be to get Haddonfield and Midwich one after another back to back literally more than just once too. So, I figured to try to have SOME fun I’d play some spooky Myers… then twice in a row my map offering failed and I was sent to Disturbed Ward for my first one. Real nice, game. No one even brought a map offering. It just straight up failed. I thought it was 100% chance for the longest time until that happened.
I love you Otz, you are so good and so fun to watch, your content is top best DbD content ❤️ And you are very handsome ❤️ As I watch this video, I understand that survivors always carry the same meta perks, but also look at your perks when you say that, you are not running a gimmick/fun build precisely. But I do agree it gets boring when both sides only bring the same perk from the same pool of 10 meta perks.
I feel the same. However, Otz goes out of his way to use non meta perks for the longevity of the game most of the time. The survivors in this video dont even have 10 perks they pick from. DS, DH, Unbreakable, BT, SB, IW. Whereas its not like otz only uses STBFL, BBQ, PWYF, NOED, Ruin, Pop, Corrupt which are generally meta killer perks. Of course these are of the top of my head so i may have missed some but its unfair to say he isnt one game because he is still picking from a bigger pool.
Otz tends to use some perks that are not meta. He had Surge and Hex Retribution to name some. Survivors most likely use DS BT Unbreakable and Dead Hard. The four perks of the Apocalypse. At least 2 of these are present on the majority of survivor builds.
The difference comes from A. Always running meta perks and not switching and B. The fact they outnumber him, and still all the same have the same combination
Blech. This plays into all of the entitled killer main stereotypes. None of the survivors were even being toxic and Otz won every game, but this video still demonizes survivors just trying to, well, survive. The bias comments reflect that. Disappointing from the otherwise level-headed Otz.
bhvr after watching this: man those survivor perks are really op and literally always used, anyway decisive now lets you shatter the killers kneecap with a baseball bat and they move at -35% movement speed for the next six games, Stacks.
Playing Nurse actually feels so frustrating for me. Like, I know I'm not a good Nurse, and I'm not even close to being a good killer, but my god, the fact that you literally cannot chase with her. I feel like I just have to start everything from scratch everytime I blink, doesn't even matter if I hit it or not, it's just so stressing. You either get some free hits on unsuspecting survivors, or you coordenate everything perfectly in order to make it work. Don't get me wrong, I know she is strong, and she isn't restricted by many things that severely affect other killers. But it just feels like an exhausting endless game of trial and error, and even tho her strength is her uniqueness, I feel like it also kinda makes it so you can't ever have "an edge" in a chase, like you can't really make a right decision, because all the things that really matter are your mechanics; it's about whether you hit that blink or not. Welp, rant is over, and yeah, I'm a bad nurse, but I still think this is a valid point. Even when I win with her, I just feel so absurdly frustrated by the gameplay itself. But if she's still in the game after so much time, then I guess she might have some cool appeal to some other kind of public.
@Charlie Ackley u are on some fine crack cocaine. Watch some dbd tournament and you’ll see the killer is lucky to end with even 1 kill. Stop talking about shit you don’t know
Every time I boot up the game, all my traumatic flashbacks come flooding back to me as I sit on the main menu, like some sort of DbD PTSD. Then I decide not to play, and just close the game. And I have *never* regretted not playing.
That nea play at 5:15 is so annoying. Crazy how you down 2 other players, she unhooks herself, she saves someone off the hook, uses unbreakable to pick someone up, and then gets a 55 second ds because somehow you were still tunneling her in the games eyes… glad they changed that
Oh a video summary of my time with this game. When does it test my patience? Every f***ing second unless it’s a nice group, but it’s so rare to find those.
Had 2 ttvs and 2 swf. 2 red ranks and a gold with a bronze. Almost had one at end game on cambells chapel, but they found a safe loop and ran into the chapel, vaulted in through another solid wall and window, vaulted out through another solid wall and window, then ran straight to the gate. I hit them and their dead hard didnt work, so the game revived them while showing I injured them, and Yui screamed indicating she did go down, but the game decided nah fam.
That Nurse game has pretty much been my Spirit and Blight experience in a nutshell after MMR dropped. Ridiculously sweaty teams running all meta perks DS, Dead Hard, Borrowed Time, Unbreakable. It's so fucking stupid I can't even get a bit of enjoyment from playing two of my favorite killers anymore... You're right, these changes might as well make me stop playing the game at all.
