If only dbd recorded matches automatically and let u see everyone's PoV like Overwatch does, we, as the game's community, could help devs deal with the cheaters situation a lot more efficiently.

I didn't know the otzbot could detect cheaters must be some solid hardware.

He's not cheating, it's his favourite map... Yeah, and he has a really good gaming chair.

Imagine how easy it would be to expose cheaters with a match replay feature that let you act as spectator for all players. Imagine. Thanks devs.

The thing that gets me is that he was consistently no where to be seen until someone got downed and then he was there for flashlight save. I personally believe he was teleporting into position to save.

Everything aside, this was such a fun stream. and the Sherlock "Otz" Holmes show for the next hour after the game was really fun filled with twists and expanding cheater arc

Recently I realised that I was facing a cheater because they had a 1 second enter into a locker and I knew I could grab but they used head on. Way too quick of an activation and it made me question the entire match.

Their playstyle resembled a little harassment party and the moment your name shown they became so nice and civilised. And it's impossible to not notice what Dwight was doing. I got an impression somebody just played damage control, because they bumped into Otz.

21:20 you can see him reacting to you walkng backwards for the fraction of a second, mimicking your movement. THROUGH THE WALL. Yeah 100% cheating.

12:30 you can see a figure after downing Nea run extremely fast then teleport away

the devs really need to add a better anti-cheat system

You're way too nice Otz. He wasn't 'probably cheating' he WAS cheating. He uses dead hard twice in the span of 8 seconds. When he has birds, you can see that he has wall hacks because he perfectly moves with you even though he shouldn't be able to see you or know where you are. When you downed Nea, you can see him warp into oblivion in the background by the gallows and instantly teleport to you. Plus the lack of stagger when falling... yup, he's a cheater. Report him and get him banned. The double dead hard should be a good enough VOD for it.

if you watch frame by frame (using "." and ",") at 12:32, you can literally watch a survivor run out into the open in the distance on screen, and then just vanish. He was 100% cheating

The cheating is obvious just looking at the vod. He clearly moves faster than Otz at various points allowing him to chain impossible tiles that are super far and gain tons of distance. He also has instant vault animation even faster than vault build without having any of those perks. Then, there’s the obvious giveaway of using permanent balanced landing without actually having it equipped. At several points it also looks like he has auto dead hard hack, dodging at the exact millisecond the M1 happens despite killer being right on his ass, but failing to use it at all to dodge the birds in any way, probably because the hack only works for M1. He probably also had wallhacks which is how he always knew how to dodge the shots behind walls and how he was able to immediately insta vault for the flash light save, despite having awful flashy timings and missing every single one. Then towards the end he probably just got tired of sucking so he used insta blind hack to get the flashy save without even being there at all. Also insta rescue from hook at one point when the feng got rescued. Maybe feng was also hacking but Dwight was for sure

It seemed really suspicious at how long that flashlight was lasting. Dwight was using it every chance they got. Battery attachments? Lucky chest pulls? Did the rest of the party bring flashlights for them?

The amount of subtle cheaters in the game is probably way higher than most people think. Just recently I had a survivor I was a little suspicious of, then suddenly I noticed I wasn't really catching up to them with Agitation, and later when he vaulted Father Campbell's main building he had little to no stagger and never fell for a single mindgame, seemingly always knowing where I was. In the end he died because despite having what felt like a slight speed boost he wasn't very smart, so all I had to do was bait him to re-vault pallets and lunge around the corner. Pretty strange when a guy you can seemingly never catch suddenly goes down so easy.

Saying "hope you had a good game" after macro spamming flashlight is like saying "it was a good match" after kicking your friends leg on purpose on a football match

This is one of those things you might not care about until you deal with it. The day before I watched Otz go through this, I had to deal with a survivor that kept looping me around Shack without me getting them in chase because of how fast they vaulted. I seriously thought they were just absolutely destroying me until I killed them and they started doing that weird hacker hook-unhook thing. Then their friends called me bad in the end lobby. Lol.

Here's another thing I think should be considered. The life of the flashlight. And the times it blinds. Because if it has max blind time it means you can confirm the add-ons along with it's battery life. I understand you can technically find more on the map but it's still enough to add suspicion. I'm not a huge dbd player only about 400 hours even split on killer and survivor so I don't have it memorized.

I've seen this guy multiple times in game, as his name always sticks out as funny to me. 3 times as a survivor, didn't notice anything. 1 time as a killer and he kept looping me around the small boat on the swamp. As soon as he ducked out of sight in the loop, he suddenly seemed to be so far ahead of me by the time I came around the corner. Eventually I saw it for myself, he timed it wrong and more than once I saw him glide as he zoomed a few extra feet away from me.

8:47 after your animation from hitting him ended he still outpaced you around the water tower and got more distance from corner to corner and then reached the window before you turned the second corner.

Saw all of this on stream, was really interesting watching the investigation, and then all the jokes about the 'favorite map' lol. Really glad you uploaded this on YT, I think it's important for people to know that sometimes it's not them playing like sh*t, but just these mf subtle cheaters. Cheaters are honestly really frustrating as in my opinion, sometimes make me want to quit whatsoever.

25:16 I can definitely see that his stride suddenly was a little quicker. He most certainly sped himself up here.

This is why DBD really needs a "Replay" function where you can spectate everybody in the previous game

I played against this guy yesterday and had the exact same experience. Clicky clickys, multiple flashy saves across the map, dead hard isntantly whenever I would attack no matter how long I waited. I was playing oni and chasing him, used my power and downed another person who was on a gen across the entire map (eerie of crows), pick up instantly and suddenly he was there, literally impossible. Same Dwight with same name. 100% cheater.

When Dwight saved the Feng from hook early in the game it was an instant unhook hack. Her scream had ended a split second before she was off the hook and he was back to clicking at you.

Had a match where one of my teammates was running Leader, and it's one of my favorite perks so I was happy to see it. When I checked their end game perks, they didn't have it, and neither did anyone else on my team. They were also running buff perks like streetwise, prove thyself, up the ante, vigil, which were nowhere to be found on any survivor in their perk slots. They weren't outwardly sus, and we won that match easily. The killer had absolutely 0 way of knowing he had these extra perks. It's so unbelievably subtle unless you're really paying attention.

I once played a match as trapper against a Dwight who found and disarmed my traps constantly, even though they were hidden and there was just no way he found all of them so quickly. I felt like he was cheating, but first I blamed myself for it and thought "well, today my traps kinda suck then". Only when I catched him teleporting to get a flashlight save later on I realized I'm not completely bad at the game. It really sucks when you doubt yourself like that even though you did nothing wrong and just want to have fun with the game.

At 12:31/12:32 after you down the Nea you can see him at the far corner of the saloon. If you go frame by frame you can see him suddenly disappear (guessing he teleported). Which proves 1, he was hacking and 2, his teammates knew he was hacking and the Nea would’ve seen his aura suddenly appear (and I guess he would’ve done similar at different times) Edit: watch at 0.25x to see it easily

about 5 minutes in i was already going, "Its baby, right?" Cuz he always seemed to get the fast vaults and the movement speed and maybe even the vaulting speed seemed a bit too fast to me, and even when you were chasing him around a building or in a straight line it seemed like you just weren't gaining any distance, which is made even weirder by the fact he was zig-zagging all the time, so he should be losing a large amount of distance.

i was watching this live and didn’t notice anything suspicious for so long into the game and that’s why i think this is so important! it really puts down newer/less hours killers who genuinely think they’re doing something wrong. really important topic otz big thanks for all the amazing content.

If you ever run into anymore subtle cheaters I think you should do a sort of analysis video like you did here, this was really enjoyable to watch.

On the 1st clip we have seen the recently buffed tenacity, it now allows flight whilst down and you can phase thru stuff

Over time I've come to realize there's probably been a decent chunk of cheaters I faced, chases that just never ended even when I was nailing them with bottles as a clown they always seem to have enough speed to get away. Tinkerer popping on blight and yet not being able to make it to the generator before it completes even though only one person was repairing it. I wonder if a lot of the people claiming survivors are way too powerful, borderline unbeatable, just get unlucky and face a lot of subtle hackers.

This makes me worried about the new boon, it will make it even harder to tell if someone is using subtle cheats to boost their speed by 1% or 2%. It's a shame people like this cheat in a party game like DbD

I'm really sorry this happened, I hate that people feel the need to cheat to "enjoy" a game. Literally don't understand that. Love your videos and your commentary/gameplay in general, so hopefully seeing more cheaters popping up doesn't change your opinion of the game. You're awesome Otz

I think it’s the falling stagger reduction that really gives it away. Otherwise it’s hard to point to any specific thing and say for sure, but the part where he falls down onto the table… definitely something not right there

I played against these guys before, they are all cheating 100%. Subtle, but when you have been playing since 2016... easy tell. The one time where you were just about to get in hit range, but for some reason he actually gained a little distance on you... THAT right there is enough for me. That is not just some tight wall hug or glitchy thing. You could also easily tell when he had birds on him that he was wallhacking. He was perfectly following you back and forth behind the building. Defo also a balanced landing thing, not completely, but just enough to get that edge. And a ton more red flags.

Hackers in this game always worry me. Sometimes when I play against someone who just seems a little too fast or seems to predict my every move it makes me paranoid, cuz I know there’s absolutely no way for me to know if they are cheating or not. I can’t tell if my strategy was just bad or if the other person had an advantage and it makes it harder to improve

I was watching all of this unfold on stream at the time. Still cant believe how many people still get away with this stuff. and the opening part of the video happened to him 2 games later. Obvious cheaters and subtle cheaters need to be dealt with. hopefully BHVR starts cracking down more and more on the cheaters.

That was the longest lasting flash light I've ever seen as well as a big beam to me. Every time he clicked it was perfectly on your face and staring to blind you.

I had a hacker like this recently. I recorded the match and sent over to Behaviour. I checked back around a week later and he was banned. They just increased their speed slightly so a normal killer couldn't catch them. I ended up killing them with my Nemesis whip.

Unfortunately, I played vs this Dwight aswell. He has the same extra speed powers in various situation, he gained distance in every corner

Damn, I would never have had any idea... But seeing the footage again yes, nonexistent falling noises and reduced stagger is the part that strikes me most :D I could definitely have encountered people that would cheat in such subtle ways, with the fact I sometimes feel I get slowed down because of lagging I would never know. Thanks a lot for the way you presented this too, not pointing fingers but just trying to analyse facts and let everyone make their own opinion. Really great :)

To be honest otz u and 3 other dbd youtubers make my life so much better with ur humor i have no idea what would make me forget about the bad things for minutes if not u.

I was looped for ages and didn’t think he was cheating till he ran to a dead zone, didn’t loop yet for some reason for no matter how long I chased him, he was some how ahead despite not using windows, pallets or anything. He wasn’t going super fast and at first glance was normal speed but some how was always ahead despite seemingly not really trying. In true cheater fashion he never did gens but if I stopped chasing him, he chased me with a flashlight.

i spent ages sweating for a 4k as doctor for an archive against the final survivor, a Jane i was fairly convinced was just really, really good. But when I finally did down them and went back to kick a wall down to guarantee the hook, they instantly got themselves up and bolted for the hatch like greased lightning. i felt gross knowing i had given up so much time and effort trying to catch a dirty cheater, and the fact they'd rather reveal themselves as a dirty cheat than enjoy the respect they may have garnered for being seemingly good at the game shows what kind of people they are.

The moment that destroyed all remaining doubt for me was the dead hard. Even as a 100 hours player I could tell that DH was automated.

I remember Coconut had a video like this a while back where he thought he got beat by a cheater, but all the stars aligned and he was actually just paranoid. I don’t think this is the same as that but both of these situations just prove how bad the cheating situation is in the game. When bad players can run subtle hacks or even good players and everyone is paranoid when they’re losing and don’t know if it’s because someone is cheating or if it’s because they’re getting beat fair and square.

The teleport near shack + speed near the corner + finding no ed instantly + macro + private profile + half of hackers I've seen play Dwight. You should definitely reset the streak.

cheaters really make you feel crazy, I called my friend on discord and streamed to confirm while chasing the guy the whole game he was able to make vaults that felt off and even in the open it was hard to tell, until I chased one other person. I think they toggle it on and off too

you can actually hear him teleport to you, how it works is it makes the survivor make the "hrraamph" sound, as if he fell. The teleport sets them to your height since he is teleporting to the killer. which is taller than the survivor.

As someone with lots of experience some of the points you made afterwards I even missed, but during that final chase I could tell immediately that his speed was definitely higher than normal, and as you pointed out his gameplay was suddenly flawless. I once went against a cheater and I was a little suspect but I was mostly confused. It was only until rewatching the game when I noticed 1 of the players healed very quickly by themselves and without a flashlight that I could pinpoint which player was cheating (I also confirmed a Gen went from less than 10s of progress to complete in under 20s so that was evidence someone was cheating but it didn't confirm who). Subtle cheaters really suck because even for highly experienced players who can tell these types of things they can still go undetected, and realistically we can't completely prove it. On top of that most ppl don't have thousands of hours. Glad you were able to detect this guy Otz, loved the vid

When he beats you to the pallet at the back corner of the map on death hook, it was clear in my mind he was cheating.

The cheat was so subtle, this is crazy. I'm actually scared of how a cheat like that could look with the new boon that gives a 2%

god i don't know how you remain so calm and understanding even in the face of what was to me a very obvious "subtle" cheater. ruining the game for everyone and being a total jerk, yet you were so friendly. unreal. i really admire that but man.

Probably encountered these many times but there is one encounter of a subtle cheater which was boarderline subtle because of how stupid the cheater was. I was playing nurse and basically had gotten 3 downs around shack, keep in mind I was running tinkers, by the time I picked up the third person a gen popped, I didn’t get a tinker prop but I thought I may have missed it during chase, by the time I brought the third person to basement and hooked them another gen popped, that’s like a 10 second interval between 2 gens, it’s impossible that one person did them solo in that timespan, and tinker proves it, it’s crazy cuz you never actually know for sure apart from those situations.

"hes really good with flashlight" Remember when you went to pick up that girl near the gate at the start? you chased dwight away, he managed to loop right back round, get in front of you and prepare a flash in the same time it took for you to travel a shorter distance and pick her up. keep in mind, killers are faster by default. His flashlight saves were really sus, especially considering that he wasnt even in the call with the others. 5:20 onwards is in my opinion the most suspicious part

I swear otz, that guy used DH twice in a row. Once when he ran behind the shack at 8:52 and then when he tridded to fake you out at 9:00

Im not sure if anyone has mentioned it already, but the part where dwight ran into otz and turns the corner, i couldve sworn he used deadhard and then used it again not 10 seconds afterwards. If you look at dwight when he turns the corner, the character model leans forward and looks awfully like he used dead hard. Not sure if im right but it bothered me the entire video

You can play more than 2 killer games and not get anger management issues or crippling depression, you're either a man with incredibly strong mental health or a madman, no inbetween

I recently re-installed dbd after a year but watching these hackers just reminds me why I uninstalled it in the first place. So frustrating! Props to otz for being so calm

Thanks for bringing this to light Otz. I've had several games like this where someone is impossibly fast and can flashlight save with pinpoint accuracy from insane angles. Hopefully with videos like this, BHVR will start feeling pressure to actually do something about these hacks.

100% cheating and also 100% the friends do not know. This person wants to come off as impressive to their friends and cheat to do so. I have seen it too many times with certain friends of my own that I refuse to play games with them now.

These are my favorite videos to watch from dbd creators. I love to see how pathetic the survivors are that use hacks.

Omg, I’m so glad I found these vids. I’ve run into some cheaters lately and I thought I was losing my mind and am just a horrible player. Now I know these jerks are just cheating and it’s not me.

I never really watch streams to be honest, but yesterday I was bored of YT and decided to watch some of Otz and Dowsey streaming, and I was lucky to see this live, as well as the hour+ of private investigation into the matter. I remember seeing him fall onto the table in Main live and thinking he was hacking. Was an interesting game and Otz's experience definitely helped him point out how this guy was very subtlety hacking.

You know, I have pretty good game sense and thousands of hours in this game, so I can get a feeling when something is odd. But my friends always call me paranoid when I say people subtle cheat, because I tell them I know how many times you can go around a certain loop if I'm playing it a certain way. I'm glad you are showing an example of this. P.S.(A): also be wary of killers with Deerstalker or Zanshin tactics. Idk why everytime I see killers running those perks, they just faceroll my survivor team. They always seem to find us quickly but they never have Lethal Pursuer, BBQ or A nurse's calling. Just one of those weird perks that do almost nothing.
