The moment I saw the thumbnail I realised it was Mafia the racing mission this mission I played it over more than I could think of I only started to realise my only way to win is to follow through the grass when it comes to a sharp curve
I saw a mod on nexus to take that mission out. I’m barely getting through my first time playing through it right now, and I didn’t know why it was a big deal. Until I played it……🤣🤣🤣
I was dreading this mission as I recently played the game for the first time and I had heard how hard it was but after playing it I really don't know what all the fuss was about I finished the race first try
@@CanComp definitely much more difficult in the original. I stumbled upon a used copy, way back when, at a garage sale around the corner from where I grew up. First game I ever recall having to stop to fuel your vehicle in. Loved it
Also for anyone stuck on the mafia racing mission on classic difficulty keep in mind that the green grass has the same physics as actual road. It doesn't slow you down or disrupt your handling. The brown dirt however does alter speed and handling. And the top 2 racers always spin out, so you if you are in 3rd place within the 1st lap, and 2nd place within the last lap, you're essentially in 1st. The person in 1st place spins out at the end of the final lap.
Yup and for me, the game changer was discovering the small boost button that let your car easily go through turns without losing speed - I remember actual relief and pure joy when discovered it during the race
Personally I felt that the race is not super hard, but only once you really understand the physics of the car. This car handles like it should, and that is terrible! It is a huge engine on tiny narrow wheels, so if you approach this like you play F1 2021, you are going to be in for a rude awakening.
What sticks out in my mind the most is Driver. I was soooo looking forward to grabbing fast cars and flying around the city! But I couldn't play any of the game until I passed the parking garage challenge. That was it. You can't play the game unless you beat this challenge. Took about 3 frustrating days to get past it just to be able to play the game.
After finally beating the racing mission if one of your neighbors hasn’t called the police on you for raging and you are still playing they actually throw a harder mission at you if playing on classic where you have to shoot that truck down..
That mission is ungoldy when it comes to the rng you can be hidden behind cover and spry over the top and still get killed instantly by 5 bullets (they shoot a mounted turret)
The Airplane section in GTA San Andreas was pretty frustrating, too. That one where you have to complete Airplane courses in order to progress to the next level. I thought it was gonna be here. I heard lots of people had to reload a lot on that level, too.
I think you're mixing up the pilot school with Zero's RC missions. Both can be bad but I found Zero's missions to be awful even compared across the entire GTA series.
@@cathallynch8269 they both hard. dont forget train mission big smoke had to shoot enemies on top of train. i hit the difficulty spike on that because big show cant shoot for shit but definitely not worse than zero rc missions and airplane course though.
I got really lucky the first time I played Mafia. I finished the race on my first try and told people they were crazy when they would tell me how hard the race was. Well, when I replayed it again in the remaster, I realized how right they were, because I didn't get the luck during that playthrough.
Oh, I remember that Mafia mission well. I think my previous Need For Speed experience served me badly, because you can't race the same way in Mafia. You can't push other racers and drift in turns without properly braking - the car just tumbles and crashes. I found the best strategy to be just patience and carefulness. You need to stay calm, brake properly and follow the correct racing line. I actually think this mission has taught me a few things about real-world racing:)
That Mafia mission when you have to shoot the armored truck with a tommy gun before your own trucks health or your health gives out is absolutely infuriating. Took me maybe 50 times on the remaster
A Drive in the Country, I believe. That was harder for me than the race, by a long shot. Doing that on Classic with no auto aim is virtually impossible on console. I could see how PC could pull that off, but not console
This is by far the worst mission in difficulty like at least in the race you could learn and improve the truck one is complete rng if you can shoot it enough without dieing
Having recently beaten psychonaughts for the first time I was soooo happy to see the meat circus level on here. You forgot to mention the part where you have to escape rising water while the main characters dad throws stuff at you and repeats the same 3 lines over and over....and over. I had to reload so many times I had to mute the game to keep from losing my cool and breaking something.
I recently played Mafia and the race part was easy but there was a chase sequence where we had to shoot an armored vehicle. I don't know how many times I restarted it.
Yup, I was dreading that mission, but I actually found it pretty easy. I think some of these driving levels are just difficult because the people playing them aren't used to racing games.
@@Not-Great-at-Gaming Was it the remake? It wasn't the simplest level ever but compared to the original which was absurdly unfair the remake was pretty easy.
I remember I pulled into the garage in that mission and I hit the side of the garage and it damaged the car to the point I had to restart and I have never felt such anger towards a video game since
Not many people mention it (or maybe its just me) but the beginning sequence for the first Driver game on PS1 had me reloading a few times. Basically it gives you a minute to complete 10 or 12 stunts without damaging the car too much, so you have to plan out a route to hit every trick in this parking garage, took me a an hour or so to figure out.
What made it so hard for me was age and limited access to internet and knowledge of cars and racing like I am 12 years old and don't hold a license like what is a slalom ?? hahaha
Many years back in high school, when I expressed my frustration to a friend over the racing level in Mafia (a game we were both playing at the same time) he said “Really? Beat that first try.” Haven’t talked to him since.
All we had to do was mention the darn mission CJ. Seriously expected this mission to be number 1. But, I think the difficulty is somewhat exaggerated. I passed it the first time on the remaster and the second time on the original PS2 and I am obviously not great.
In Jak2, the mission where you get back to Haven city in the slums by the docks and get ambushed by millions of Crimson Guards is super crazy and tough. They keep coming, there is little space to take cover from, and that drone in the water kills you almost instantly if you fall off the docks.
There is a glitch if you go dark jak and dark bomb at the right time when you jump off the docks, it kills the drone and you can hover board the whole way out of there
@@warriorsora1126 I never tried that tbh. But I did recently see a video saying that lots of people played the game 'wrong' making it harder than needed. Im sure lots of us relied on the spinning air attack and then the shoot button to fire the gun all around us. What made it difficult is that it leaves you wide open to gun fire and the shots you pull off aren't accurate. It was suggested to always shoot in front of you. So idk. I made it, I survived, but I had to learn the hard way. I may go back and play it again now that its on Playstation Premium
KOTOR 1 has difficulty spikes in both Taris and Dantooine which shouldn't be there considering both are starting areas and unless you are either an expert at the game, Using the debug menu on the Switch or using mods, You are going to get your ass kicked over and over and run out of healing supplies and credits from buying healing supplies, Ontop of that you don't have good weapons or armor, There's a reason I keep a save after I beat Dantooine and Taris to go back to so I don't stress out, The underwater mission while annoying is nowhere near that bad.
That mission in Jak II where you had to throw some bombs into Eco Wells with the hoverboard (with turning reminiscent of a semi, mind you), and you only have 7 minutes to complete the objective. Keep in mind, the entire area is a junkyard, with plenty of places to fall.
For me it was that one mission in wolfenstein: the new colossus where you are stuck in a small room while nazis keep rushing you and never run out of personnel. If you’ve played the game you know what I am talking about.
The courthouse mission, that mission took me 527 times to redo and I was going to snap and destroy my console and controller over it until I finally did it, definitely one of the worst missions, that and the Mile High Club mission in Call of Duty
I know its random, each other have its peace. But nothing beats missions where you reload all times, until you give up, go sleep and on the other day nail it first time.
For me the worst one that almost made me quit was the mafia 1 remake with the police armored truck....They got me around 15 times before i had to look it up.
I expected to see RC helicopters mission on building construction site from GTA Vice City. One of the hardest mission ever of any game I played in my childhood. I don't know if I'm disappointed or glad I didn't see it.
Most overrated "hard" mission ever. The game gives you way more than enough time and the toy heli has more than enough health so you can just ignore the builders and security attacking you. I had to complete it for people when I was a kid and just never understood the difficulty. The remaster even has a trophy/achievement for killing every enemy with the blades during the mission, still just as easy.
I'm generally not great at hard games, but this is one mission that baffles me. I replayed Vice City over Christmas break and I beat this mission first try. I genuinely don't understand its reputation for being so hard.
This is random, but that race mission from Mafia was my favorite thing about that game. I used to replay it multiple times, it just reminded me of good codemasters games, at first it was hard, but later on I used to win it every time.
I have to protest your Jak 2 mission choice. While hard and early, I think it's still easier than the hord mode mission when getting the Seal of Mar piece from Brutter.
Blowtorch and Corkscrew from CoD World At War on higher difficulty. Once Roebuck shouted "SPIDER HOLES", the enemies will appear everywhere. It was brutal but rewarding once you managed to find cover
It may not be considered a level, but getting a desired freighter design as an S class in No Man's Sky will require reloading your manual save multiple times, since there is no way to upgrade them like ships and multi-tools.
Aside from buffs and class you can finish upgrading freighters now in the game. Just wish u could do it with class. but the storage is all that really matters, and you can unlock other upgrades. You just can’t carry the sweet symbol when you do it.
I've been playing games, probably for as long as Falcon based on what I've watched, and there is one multi save mission I will never forget. "All you had to do was follow the damn train CJ".
Ahh yes mw2 spec ops, I miss mw2. Spent a hot minute mastering the spec ops levels! Here's to hoping the reboot scratches at least a few of those og itches
I have too much time so i found number 27 in every game: 10:Ammo at 1:22 9: Again ammo for a split second at 1:56 8: Ammo is 270 but you know leave the 0 out and its 27 at 3:00 7: Misson Test Your Sight is 270 at 4:15 6:On the license plate at 5:29 5:Picked up 27 gears at 7:10 4:Position is 27/30 at 8:17 3:Ok here I didnt really found any but if u stretch it far u can like flip it where the number says 8172 and make 27 at 9:45 2:Again far stretch but at 10:42 he has 27 rounds left in that one "Mag" 1:Time remaining is 02:07 at 11:45
Allow me to confirm that being "big into racing games" does not help racing sections in non racing games whatsoever. I am an avid sim racer and when my friend let me play the racing section in mafia I was useless. Same with super arcadey racers like mario kart and f-zero, I'm probably worse than the average gamer.
Interesting I found the race in Mafia pretty easy because I understood racing lines ,coasting and braking zones , but getting the car tampered with was hard AF lol its wet and dark and there's a time limit and damage limit and 100% agree with you on super arcadey racers I am absolute trash its borderline embarrassing lmao . However my buddy is a big flight sim guy and a military pilot and I was playing ace combat and he wasn't good at all so I think once you get to a level of gaming its hard to go backwards too.
Assassin’s Creed Unity and the obstacle course. The mission was made for co-op where you have two players collecting flags simultaneously, but if you don’t have a co-op partner you have to get all the flags solo. Even with perfect timing you’ll only scrape through under time, meaning that any stumbles will automatically cause you to lose.
I was HUGE on gran turismo 4 before I went into that mafia race so it only took me a handful of attempts but it was still super frustrating and I can imagine it being hell for others.
S%#@! I remembered that one too! And to make things worse, Smoke betrays you at the end! I REALLY wish you could run Smoke over with that F-ING TRAIN! Me:' How do you like it now, you asshole!' 'Not so nice on the other end is it, f-ing PRICK!'
I owned F-Zero GX when I was in elementary school. Hardest game I ever played on 64. Could never unlock the last row of racers, which sucked because the character I wanted access to was in the last row. He was just an old man with a cane who has been racing since before most of the main cast even touched a car, and that is why I found him amazing.
The racing car mission and race in mafia is extremly easy... made it on first try 2 times, and it was so fun that i miss other missions like this in the game.
@@miqueld-luffy8251 really though maybe we're not as bad as we think . Beat this race in a breeze . Literally had anixtey before it because of how hard I heard it was lol
Am I the only one who beat the Mafia race first try? Loved the physics of the cars, didn't see any problem with how they handled. From what I've seen of people failing it, it's like the only other driving game they've played is GTA V
depends on what version did you play. Old mafia on release had only hard mode fo racing. also there's a big portion of luck: there're some AI racers that run too fast and if you would't get them on 1-2 lap, you never will, even driving perfectly. BUT they can crash on 1st lap, and it'll be easy ride.
for me it was super easy on normal difficulty but on hard was a completely different story after about 30 attempts I gave up and went to normal difficulty
That's a VERY strange thing to say considering GTA generally has very good driving for an open world game to the point where racing is a large part of the online. Only took me 3 tries to get to the race, and one try at the actual race in the remake, with a keyboard, but it was very similar to Mafia 3's driving (quite good) which I had already done plenty of.
Dear God! I just saw the thumbnail and when I realized it's that cursed Mafia race mission it triggered a PTSD episode in me. This one mission is the reason why I never even bothered to give the remastered game a shot (though I really enjoyed the original one, and I have a lot of nostalgia towards it)
I was kind of hoping to see Battletoads on here. More specifically the speeder level where you have to dodge or jump over the little barriers. Or the rappelling down the hole level. Or many of the Megaman missions with the blocks that appear and disappear on you all while the screen is slowing scrawling to the right.
You just gave me anxiety with Battle Toads , as a kid I could never get through the speeder level I had the first and the tunnel memorized but that level is so hard lol
I had a way harder time with MW2's high explosive mission(veteran), 10 jugs only to be killed with explosives, nades, flash, launcher, RPG and knifing The start 1v1 is alright but as you start killing them you risk having up to 4 jugs chasing you I have restarted that mission many more times than both the mafia race and the boneyard/airplane scrapyard mission
It's quite easy. You are either just having to do laps of the favela. Go into the back of the Ute at the start. The Jung's won't be able to get you or in co op, go into the room on the very right of the map. One goes prone behind the furniture and the other stands in the doorway. When the doorway person goes down start knifing. Then when the jugg shoots the DBNO person, revive. Rinse and repeat. The Airoplane Graveyard has a specific path to the left you go. Then after getting the Intel, chuck a few flashes over the next area and book it over to the right with cover. EZ PZ
I was going through it with f-zero gx. I couldn't handle a lot of the game when I was younger and it was before I knew about advanced tech. After some years, I got into it again and it wasn't as hard anymore. With Black Shadow AND Blood Falcon, I'd either knock 'em out early or out race them, the latter being a trickier bit. Plus, f-zero is heavy on your reflexes and knowledge as you can break your vehicle or go flying off the track easily, and frankly, you get more out of it by learning how to be bold.
I still remember when The Act Man showed a clip of him dying in Gravemind in Legendary... He died so fast the text at the bottom on the screen had no time to appear
Before playing mafia definitive edition I heard about the racing car thing, so I loathed it. But I've won the race the first try. And also finished the timed mission for the 2nd try. (A truck took a left turn in the first).
Not gonna lie when Falcon said Jak2 & didn’t mention the boardwalk section when you first grab a piece of Mar’s tomb and then your wanted level is at 5 stars good time!!!
Mafia racing segment is a Pain. I had to replay that section over 30 times yes I’ve actually timed how many times til I got sick of counting and finally got it on classic
For me it was ALL of Yooka Laylee. I wanted to like this game so much. I would watch my wife struggle with some levels and be like "I got this..." After a few rage quits my wife would just laugh and grind through it with sheer will power and determination.
That's incredible to see mw2 snatch and grab. I've done them all solo the first time, and helped many people through them and that's the only hard spec ops mission.
I remember being stuck in Vice City so long, because I couldn't pass this damn rc-helicopter mission...I was so happy to finally get it, that I forgot to save the game...ah good old times...
@@Space_Noise Same. After The Club, the rest of the levels seemed pretty manageable. That being said, Yang gave me some trouble. Especially when getting the true ending.
I remember when I watched the BEFORE YOU BUY for Mafia game and said that race was very difficult. I listened to your tips on the track and beat it the first time!
Modern Warfare. All Ghilied Up mission. I have to replay that mission a lot, not only because I was a crappy gamer back then, but the mission is insanely fun to play through.
I ended up cheesing the Circus level in Psychonauts 2, Figured out quickly that there is a couple out of the way bounce pads that rocket you past some of the annoying sections that make keeping that foolish npc from dying too fast before you reach them insanely easier.
Heck, I have the time stamp on the achievement showing I beat this game 4 days after it released on Game Pass, so no, it wasn't after the patch. I'm just hardcore and been gaming since the Atarii days. You guys don't know true rage inducing gameplay unless you played NES or Sega ;)
The thing that made that race in F-Zero much easier was eliminating other racers with your spin/side attacks. I ended up deleting Black Shadow half way through the race and it was a breeze after that.
I can't remember how the original Spyro games played out but I remember in the trilogy remake I didn't have that much trouble with the trolley. Getting the timed scores on the flying missions (particularly in Year of the Dragon) was the hard one for me. ...then of course there's the bugged Sergeant Byrd level that makes getting all the trophies impossible...and that level is near the very end of the final game so by that point you've collected almost everything else. Good times! Q_Q
The Mafia race on classic difficulty is borderline torture. You'll know on the first bend whether you have a CHANCE to win the race or not. Took me hours to do it. And I'd do it again tho lol, excellent game
Racing in mafia made me go from hardest difficulty to lowest. Cause I was done with spending so much time on single mission and then I just speed ran it.
Huh? I don't know why people were struggling so much with Mafia 1 racing game, I've played the remaster version, sure the car is slidy but after getting used to it, I think I finished the race in 3 or 4 tries
@@Ehren1337 I'm not gonna buy a 20 years old game and plays it just to get to that race, plus they said they didn't improve the racing at all so why should i
