No kidding. Most well known VCs have a noticeable voice that you can point out no matter the character, but you gotta give a lot of credit to people like ProZD who can do a LOT of voices and get a lot of roles from it (even if it’s low budget stuff).
As much as SungWon is known for voice work in stuff an adult audience appreciates, I feel like this video really highlights that there's a really good chance for him to be one of THE voice actors that modern children know. Like, he could easily be the 2020s version of Tony Jay, where everyone who grew up with this stuff just immediately, reflexively knows his voice from a dozen different sources.
@@MayHugger Tony Jay was a long-time voice actor in all sorts of stuff. He was Frollo in Hunchback of Notre Dame, Megabyte in Reboot, Shere Kahn in a few later Jungle Book things (which SungWon's now doing, so that's a neat connection), and a narrator and one-off voice in more stuff than I can count. He's a quintessential 'That Guy' of 90s cartoons, and I feel like SungWon is going right down that path.
I always wonder how auditions specifically for Pokémon play out, like does he just have to stand there and make the weirdest noises he can to get hired
Eh, Pokémon is the largest media property in the world. Even bigger than Disney. Plus, I'd bet more viewers of this channel watched/played Pokémon regularly growing up than Disney shows/games. Both are hella impressive.
I'm the king of the lair. And now that you're in here, you're not going anywhere but down on the ground cus I'm gonna kick your ass. I'm sorry I said ass I don't mean to be crass.
Wait, are they doing original Disney audio stories again? I remember them making both audio versions of their movies and cartoon shows, as well as brand new stories, and releasing them on cassette tapes when I was a kid. And I’ve been thinking for years now they should do that with podcasts, since it’s such a natural fit. I’m happy that seems to be the case! It’s a great use of the voice actors without needing the big budget of a whole animation.
Just looked it up. Apparently it's for some kind of interactive device called a Lunii Storyteller. There's a bunch of 'Escape From' Disney stories that work as audiobooks or interactive puzzle games
@@profmalicious Oh. If it’s for a bespoke device it’s not quite as cool, feels like a bit of a waste to not just have it be audiobooks/podcasts, in terms of availability. Then again, I guess with the cheap and easy availability of Disney movies and cartoons nowadays, they wouldn’t serve as big a purpose as they used to when I was a kid, and you’d get the audio casette version because your parents couldn’t afford the VHS. So bundling it with some interactive toy to up the value makes sense.
Your Shere Khan is mesmerizing. Thank you for sharing, these were all fantastic! My partner is a huge fan of Delicious in Dungeon and freaked out when he found out you were voicing Senshi. Now we are watching it together and you're perfect. Been wild watching your career grow.
If I hadn't watched so many of your videos, I would've had no idea all these characters were voiced by the same person. Your vocal range continues to amaze me
You're such a talented voice actor, you do such a great job in all of these! Special shout-outs to your Shere Khan and Riddler voices. You absolutely nailed how Khan speaks and the rolling way he talks, and I love the voice you use for Riddler. The delivery on the explanation of the pun was hecking perfect, it's not an easy thing to pull off!
I can't believe you voiced Carnivore. It sounds nothing like you and now I'm just imagining you in the booth having the time of your life doing the voice XD
I just recently watched Odd Taxi for the first time. And the Dub was incredible, when I first heard your character on the radio I got excited to see you become more prominent in the story.
as someone who's special interest is the Riddler (and also someone who has watched you for a while) I was so surprised to see you voiced him!!! i loved ur performance so much great job!!!!!!!
Because i first learned about you through silly YT skits, it's always so shocking when you're in like serious as fuck things like Fire Emblem, i get whiplash knowing the funny YT man is a top tier VA
