Something else I'd like to add: Don't abandon your flank! Doing so give the enemy easy access to your flank and allows them to get crossfires on your team. I see this all the time in random battles where allied ships will immediately abandon the other ships nearby and start sailing away.
The amount of times I've seen multiple teammates chasing down an irrelevant enemy running to the edge of the map is infuriating. I don't think new players understand how long it takes to traverse the map especially in a BB.
With a couple of exceptions, no commander is entirely useless. Some are must haves in a specific ship class, others are strictly used for inspiration and rarely, if ever, captain a ship. What you choose will often depend on playstyle and even ship tier.
@@davefinfrock3324 That's true but I don't understand what a commander like bumblebee can provide? Periotic speed build - maybe? On discord I asked if anyone uses him and got zero replies. lol. It just seems like a money suck. I have him, Justinian Lyons and Optimus Prime so I might as well use them for something.
Tip no 6 should be underlined in bold and in triplicate, the amount of games where i see destroyers spotted but not shot at is infuriating, if I'm loaded no matter what shell and i see a destroyer it gets shot at.
So frustrating to pop your radar, spot destroyers and the entire team keeps shooting at a kiting BB or something equally pointless instead of taking advantage.
Another tip: don't go chasing a single ship that sails to the edge of the map. He will remove himself from the game for a few minutes and won't be a problem during that time. Use that time to cap bases or help the flank next to yours.
There so many different currencies. I don’t fully get the white star credits… I’ll usually get 200-400 per AI match, but online I’ll get 150-300 or so. And then I had one online match and hit 43,000 (in my first tier V) and no idea why.
Can you do a video on the hybrid us battleships on the best way to use them and the advantages vs disadvantages to the traditional battleships? They have an expensive service cost, so I'm looking to find a way from going middle of the pack with them to higher up on average so I can offset their high costs.

Could she be vindictive by degrading the quality of the digital game equipment, because you are not recommending her game to a third person, even if you have made several purchases. The game is clearly not meant for new players or free to play well if you want to at least be of any use to your team or just waste everyones time. I'm a new player from wot and can appreciate the crew/commander skills so much I don't think I have the grind in me to try get the Mr bean driver out of the captains chair every shot misses because of no spred bonuses ect on commander (and I know how to aim the ships) I'm just cannon fodder for well anything even cruisers that can out distance me when in battleships it's funny but kinda frustrating don't wanna spend stupid money or do like 40k battles against ai getting hardly no xp or not really learning anything as it's Just a mad rush to middle of cap to to smash a basically afk ship so either battle mode kinda poo for new players.any help or better tips for someone slightly more experienced than the video just struggling cos no commander skills and can't seem to do distance or spotting as everything and I mean everything out distance me i got the Texas pack and every other Texas hits me when I can only shoot like 15.2km and can't seem to even get in distance but get wrecked and enemy just don't seem to bloody miss a shell the phrase make it rain must be going through there head while Im just spreading shells either side of there ship could enjoy it so much more if was sbmm or just a noob area for me where not just ai earning fuck all so still getting nowhere. as can probably tell not happy and very close to fuckin game off just been trying to get some "sound" advice not just someone saying get better lol when it's all down to the build of ship and I obviously can't do no build lvl 8 commander that not even right one for ship only 500k commander xp so can't even afford right one yet feel I'm just to late to game to be competitive now as a casual/competitive gamer without a year or so of shite games or spending lots of ££££
These should be required viewing. I literally was just in a match where one of our destroyers charged a full health Atlanta, and the other Atkatsuki got to 5 km before launching. Both were instantly deleted. My question is, how can you get to tier 6 and not know that?! Or the guy that constantly launches torps when he is 3 km out of range... Thank you for trying to correct bad habits!
Always good to see videos for new players. I think a road map for new players would help too. There isn't much clear direction at the beginning so I think people pick a line and shoot up it as fast as they can. And dump all the commander resources into the stock people. Maybe tips on what a good level to stop at for commanders is until you have the ones you want. Or what roughly your games played should be before getting into a certain tier would help too. Also, solid beginner lines to attempt to learn the proper roles of each class. You touched on it with the bureau to say whats the best use of time for people starting out. Doing WG a favour by steering the newbies in the right direction! Keep it up!
Absolutely... this game is as much about managing resources as it is playing the matches. I think it’s easy to lose sight of as a long term player because you eventually have it all, but it’s so easy to waste resources when you are new.
I have a question for Tbull or anyone, I am a new player, started last September and currently at 600 battles in standard played. I play mostly against A.I., but my Standard win rate is 51% and has been dropping even if I have a game where I am doing good in xp and trying my best to win. However I just get so discouraged from trying to play standard that I go back to a.i. Question is, as a newish player should I really be that concerned over my win rate? Or just enjoy the game and do the best that I can? I haven't really seen anyone cover this topic so it would be nice to get some feedback, thanks for your time and effort and I really enjoy all the content you make.
I wouldn't focus on the win rate or let it discourage you from playing the standard modes. As you gain more experience it will go up, but keep in mind the average win rate is about 48%.
Not really, so be sure to keep your mid tier ships to play for earning credits. The tier 5 tech tree ships tend to make the most credits out of all the free ships
This a tip for everyone don't go around a giant island where you can't shoot anyone for the first 5 mins..... Hate 2 watch 1/2 my team take the long flank.
Thanks for the tip on gunlock. This game is not hard and fun . I hope players are taking your tips to practice. Shoot red team it's that simple. My teams I am match with well just run to a island all stacking and not shooting. Players some of them are terrified to fire and I do not get it. Thanks for the tips again.
Great vid Tbully! One really important thing you left out was mini map/situational awareness. Guys that charge head first on weak side. Guys that chase that one kite, flanks coming around to cap. Probably a whole vid to itself but I think it’s the biggest fail for most players. Tunnel vision in short.
All too often I’ve found teams huddle to one side of the maps and forget the enemy destroyers completely and/or allow the opposing team to get behind them. Frustrating as all hell!
Once I finally figured out how to get the gun lock it helped so much! As a previous WoT player I’ve found strategies kinda roll over to here. Like once I saw the convoluted camo crap I said screw it and haven’t touched any of it. I think my highest tier is a 5 right now. I think my biggest struggle as a purely FTP player is not having commanders for the ships I want to play. I was wanting to play the American Battleships but with just Dewey I decided to not. I’ve randomly got mostly French so I’m just playing those ships mostly. I can’t remember if it was in your previous vid for beginners but knowing the distances of the ship you’re in is big. Know the main gun, secondary, torp, and spotted distances. It’ll help a lot to understand how the ship will play.
The Commander offer marginal gains and should not deter you from playing any ships. Biggest advantages is "Twist'N'Track" for destroyers. But you can unlock Commanders and Premium time through the Bureau. Or buy 3 Commander crates for steel each week.
@Tbull what is the difference between the commanders Yamamoto and Lütjens (aka AP shells penetration multiplier and the shell damage... doesn't the multiplier already do that?!?!?)
Lutjens just adds on a bit more damage to any AP shell that already is doing damage. Yamamoto makes it so some shells that would have shattered will now penetrate, which should lead to a greater increase than just buffing the raw damage

With spotting we're talking about making red ships available for our team to see by getting within their blue detection ring and having a line of sight on them. So let's say we have a friendly cruiser that is behind an island and can't see a red battleship. If you put your destroyer in a spot where you can see the battleship, then that ship will be visible to everyone on your team who is relatively close enough. The cruiser will be able to fire on the ship and won't take any return fire because it is hidden by the island. That's damage that is only occuring because of the spotting the destroyer is doing. If it is sitting in a cloud or hiding behind an island then those red ships remain invisible
Totally agree with prioritizing killing Destroyers. Exception would be if using USN cruisers. Anything over 14 km is like shooting on Monday and waiting on Tuesday to see if you hit anything. Especially if shooting something as small and squirrelly as a destroyer.
