In this video I discuss Niche Fragrances, now I know you're scared but it's going to be okay, your wallet not might be by the end of the video but I can assure you, you'll live.
I'm gonna be straight up with you and say i haven't seen the video yet but i'm doubtfull that if you count every single euro those fragrance costs and i tell you that you can get the same amount of chili chickens from mc donalds for that price, it's still worth the price.
I also feel the same way about food. No point spending so much money on food (ie going out to restaurants). Your going to fill your belly up, n sht it out the next day, regardless of what u eat. I’d rather spend money on other things I enjoy like fragrances.
Please don’t leave us 😢. You are the only RU-vid fragrance reviewer that I watch every single upload. The humor in the recent videos also makes this an even harder pill to swallow. You are the best out there.
I like it when you describe the insane craftsmanship that went into producing some of these fragrances, and how some of them are brilliant from a technical point of view
Daaamn. I only trusted your reviews because my all time favourite fragrance is Creed MI and I knew I would like all the same fragrances. Sad to see you go and will look forward to your final video 👍
Nice Video George some legendary fragrances amongst that list TV is my favourite Tom ford Private Blend. Thinking about getting an Oud for Christmas and I've tested all of the MFK ouds and I think satin is probably the best in their line, I can see it being more for special occasions and events but surely it can be worn daily for oud lovers.
This whole list, especially when you mentioned Kisses Rain, makes me think of a list of fragrances that have been reformulated, but for the better. I dunno if there are more examples of this, but this could be a cool video idea.
George, I've re-watched this 3-4 times and I am starting to get the same hole in the stomach that you do when you deeply think about the end of your life and what it will be like. I know we're months away from you hanging it up, but I am not sure I want to watch fragrance videos in a frag com without you in it.
Will have to get my nose on Mon Oasis. Others from the house sound good as well, so I'll be getting a discovery set. Appreciate the video, as well as exposing me to new fragrance houses.
Great video. I should cut back on purchasing but that MFK shop is kind of tempting. My most expensive fragrance purchases that I feel absolutely worth it include Aventus Cologne, Carlisle and Noir Extreme.
hey George great video love that you give us true opinions. Love that you give respect to the reiner's i love them along with the daniel josier's what do you think of black rain just got it as a gift but haven't opened it yet.
I have a recent batch of Green Irish Tweed and it performs mindblowingly good with great scent. On the other hand i tried Roja Enigma, very linear-non exciting, and it's worth its price as much, as Katie Price her attention.
Any best of list with Tobacco Vanille in it is an instant win. I would also put Cedrat Boise in. Lovely stuff. Still hoping you'll change your mind about the whole calling it quits thing.
At the opposite end of the scale, I bought the All Saints Sunset Riot after your recommendation. Which I love. It gets plenty of compliments, although absolutely everyone says it's not very strong. Within an hour, it's pretty much gone. Are we all in the same boat here, or have I been unlucky with my bottle?
I love Tobacco Vanille !!! I’ve got a tiny amount left in a 3 year old bottle. Bought a new bottle and indeed the older bottle just somehow smells slightly better ( not much )
As soon as you spray a fragrance, it will start changing chemically inside, hopefully your 2nd bottle is going to start smelling like the previous, with time.
agree with everything on the list although i didnt smell all of the parfums mentioned, but Tobacco vanille got pretty insane clone 1/4 of the price of TF called Amber Oud Tobacco Edition Al Haramain and its the same juice and i am not a fan of clone houses.
In your opening holding a bottle of Black Tie would’ve been better. You can get Office at a better price with a bundle/ discount code. But Black Tie remains insanely expensive. MB Explorer for me over Aventus (for aftershave and soap use Stirling Soap Executive Man they nailed the Aventus vibe) Cheers !
What do you think about jo malone london? (Wood sage & sea salt, oud bergamotte, vetiver golden vanilla) And do know "indonesian oud" from zegna? That's a REAL beast you should try!
The sad thing about Tobacco Vanille is that it actually HAS been reforumulated, probably in 2020. I went to buy a replacement and it smells NOTHING like what it originally smelt like. Wished I had bought backups of it like MI 😢
Very Nice George....I think buying fragrances can be a addiction.....Think about it George!!!! There really only a few Fragrances today or really ever that are worth 300 or more dollars! There all over priced......Cash Cow......Of course that is just my opinion....I still buy them knowing i am getting ripped off....I love love love Fragrance....problem is its getting to be Stupid Prices for Fragrances....They keep seeing how far they can push people by raising and raising there prices...Kind of like Creed!!!!
SM Cafe is my next purchase. Tobacco Vanille is probably my favourite all time frag. Still have my 250ml carafe from 2016 (£345). Not sure It should be in this list though...it's an exclusive designer rather than boutique fragrance. Nit picking, I know. 🙄
I remember wearing the oud satin mood sample out one night and this woman asked if she could come closer and smell my neck and she bit my neck because she liked the smell so much. In fact most women that was there that night was extra friendly!!
@@MoahGentle Nah, it was only $20 for a 10ml. It's good to try these niche brands. But they do have cheap designer fragrances for the same price. I think that's how they make their money. And there niche options are getting fewer and fewer.
Not at all keep them in a cool dark place I have a Gucci envy date 2004 and it’s absolutely amazing still with many more including look what their charging for vintage bottles on eBay lately
Sorry to hear that you will be leaving the fragrance community. However, you have something that captivates us, the audience. It's probably how you use dark humour or witty humour, while trying to look serious. In any case keep on searching what your thing or niche is, because you have the potential to do great things. All the best in your new ventures! ... almost forgot, you may want to listen to some Les Brown to give you the inspiration for that great future...
Al Haramain Amber Oud Tobacco Edition this is The Clone you have to try for Tom Ford-Tobacco Vanille. My humble opinion ,this is stronger long lasting and lets say 90% like.
Mousse Illuminee and Bon Monsieur by Rogue Perfumery are so worth the $150 I spent on them, as is the bottle of Interlude Man that I got for I think $160. Also, let's get some respect for Fentiman's Curiosity Cola, which really does blow everything else out of the fucking water. It's not as common in the States, but you can still find it, and THAT is NICHE soda that is worth the price tag.
@@Sliceisnice850 I usually spray 15-20 even with some really intense parfums, and even I tap out after 6 or 7 from Mousse Illuminee. Strongest frag I own except for maybe a couple of really highly concentrated parfums.
@@marcjohn9404 I’m in shock at your spray regimen. I’m not being confrontational or mean when I ask, are you sure there isn’t something wrong with your sense of smell? 6-7 sprays of Mousse Illuminee is unimaginable to me.
@@Sliceisnice850 Hahaha, nah man I got great sense of smell, I just like to project. I was thinking your amount of sprays was a bit low, I've never used something that I could get away with only using two sprays and be satisfied with my scent aura.
@@marcjohn9404 I want to project just enough to smell it myself, and maybe enough that if someone is in my personal space or hugging me they can smell it, but if people several feet away are smelling it, that’s too much in my opinion. You’re forcing it onto them.
How you described Enigma Parfum Cologne then differentiated it against the parfum concentration is what sets you apart from other reviewers who are just content with saying its a weaker concentration as its cologne and stop right there but dont paint an image as to how it smells like: is it the same and if not whats the difference. Yet they have the subs which doesnt justify the content like redolesence. As for the video, thats a fine list of niche fragrances / brands worth the money. I already have Burlington1819 and im glad its somewhat of an honorable mention. Mon Oasis is one that interests me but i need to decide if its that or Moments which you suggested to Fragmental. I enjoy watching your content but subconsciously know the more i get to watch lately, the faster the countdown goes; thats just sad..
Haramain Oud Tobacco Edition is a great clone of TV, a bit more clove and sweetness in the opening but longevity is amazing for a clone. Personally TV is a bit dirty smelling on the tobacco so I prefer the Haramain
The most worth the price niche I've ever smelt is Ambra Omnia Parfumi, amber + vanilla with dried orange zest with a depth that can only come from a company that spends more time making scents than marketing them. This is higher quality than even Dior Ambre Nuit imo.
Areej Le Dore and Bortnikoff also have some amazing releases that are worth the money, not all of them though. The Areej Le Dore classic collection is great. Oud Zhen is my fav, followed up by Russian Musk 2 and Ottoman Empire 3. From Bortnikoff it’s Oud Monarch, Musk Khabib, and Triad
@@Sliceisnice850 I got a 9ml sample when I purchased the other 3. I love the opening, but I did not think the drydown is worth the asking price. Also it leaves a sticky feeling on my skin, its a bit weird. If you have the opportunity, try to test Oud Monarch, its amazing
@@MickBenjamins You inspired me to revisit my Oud Monarch sample and I’m liking it more the second time; the first time I was stunned by a blue cheese note I get from real oud. I still catch that, but now I’m fascinated and want more experiences of this. I understand Areej Le Dore is hard to get. Bortnikoff seems more available. If this wouldn’t be a chore for you, mind sketching out the differences between the top three Bortnikoffs you mentioned?
@@Sliceisnice850 Oh nice, glad to hear you're liking it more this time around. I don't get any skankiness from Oud Monarch, but I'm also used to real oud oils (from Ensar Oud, Feel-Oud, Al Hashimi, and some other smaller vendors), so maybe my nose has accustomed to it. Where did you pick up the sample, was it directly from Bortnikoff, or through someone who sells decants? As far as I am aware it shouldn't be barnyard/cheesy, though some of his other scents are (Oud Maximus for example). So I'm wondering if you maybe received the wrong decant... You are right, Areej Le Dore is harder to pick up, most of his releases sell out in no time (next month he will release Atlantic Ambergris as part of his 'classic collection') About Bortnikoff, I'm happy to share my take on them: 1. Oud Monarch. To me is just the most lovely smell all the way from the sweet opening, to the dry down. Right from the opening I get a dessert/cake feel from this, it's very rich and full. 2. Musk Khabib. I love musks, it started with synthetic musk (Khiel's Original Musk) and I got into real musk after that. Where Areej Le Dore Russian Musk 2 is more urinous (though not off putting to my nose), Musk Khabib is sweeter and less animalic. The opening is great with the fresh smell of bergamot. Definitely a compliment getter! From there you get the Ylang Ylang and musk, perfectly blended. I don't get the ambergris, but it dries down into a sweet (vanilla?) scent with musk. Awesome! 3. Triad. This one was more difficult for me, as it's rose all around. Not a smell I was used to before. Honestly, the first time wearing this, I wasn't a fan at all. This really grew on me though, and now I'm really enjoying the fresh blast of rose with oud and benzoin underneath. An absolute "beast mode" rose
@@MickBenjamins I confused Monarch and Maximus somewhere between grabbing the sample and typing my reply. This cheesy affair is indeed Maximus. Meaning, I still get to try Monarch for the first time! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your impressions. I don’t have many folks in my life to talk to about this stuff, so this means more than you know. Clearly some samples are in order, and I’ll be factoring in your thoughts as I search about.
Roja Elysium Cologne definitely isn’t worth the price. Go high end designer over this drag. It’s an expensive body scent at best. A paper weight on average.
